Well, I spent a lonnnng time trying to get Heart Scales, but to eventual success. Training was also rather annoying. But everyone is adequately leveled to take on the Blackthorn gym. Also I appear to encounter Raikou and Entei way too unintentionally, both are below half health.

I went to the lighthouse and saw the sick pokemon, and journeyed over to the island for the medicine. I saw Suicine, and then battled Eugine? and lost. I was a sore loser, because I had no revives or awakenings, and the buttewipes Drowzee kept putting my pokemon to sleep, and then eating their dreams!! I saved and turned off at the Pokemon centre. I want my Eevee to evolve into an Umbreon already, because I'm sick of only being able to play after 8pm!

So, I've beaten all of the Kanto Gym Leaders, and now all there is left to do is grind like crazy for Red. I should start a new game, right?

Starting off where I left off yesterday, I decided to run around Johto and Kanto, catching Pokemon for the Pokedex since I had totally neglected to finish my Pokedex due to training for the Battle Frontier and junk. I went to Kanto and flew to Pewter City and I used Headbutt on a tree there to find a few wild Starly's. I captured those and placed one on my team and evolved it into Staravia 20 minutes later after training at Victory Road. I went back to Pewter City, deposited Staravia and went to Mt. Moon to try my luck at finding Clefairy. I found one after about 15 minutes and captured it. I then went outside and remembered that there was a Baltoy swarm near Mt. Moon so I went and captured two of them. I went back to Johto via the S.S. Aqua and left a Baltoy at the DCC. Went back to Cherrygrove and used Headbutt to find two Taillow. I trained one on Mt. Silver for half an hour and got it to evolve into Swellow. So I managed to add a few Pokemon to the Pokedex. Next I'm gonna train a bit more for the Battle Frontier. Saved.

    Restarted my SoulSilver this morning.

-Like in my previous save, named my character Dave and my rival Silver.
    -Chose Cyndaquil as my starter
    -Did the usual starting things.
    -Defeated Silver's Totodile.
-Caught a Zubat in Dark Cave.
-Leveled it up a little, and entered Sprout Tower, which offered little resistance.
-Received Flash, trained Zubat to lv. 13 and entered the gym.
-Cyndaquil defeated the gym trainers, and evolved.
-The newly evolved Quilava defeated Falkner with a little luck, earning me the Zephyr Badge!
-Traveled south to Route 32. There, I caught a Mareep, received my Old Rod and used it to catch a Magikarp.
-Spent a lot of time grinding here, before entering the Union Cave.
-Traveled through the Union Cave and Route 33.
-Talked to Kurt, and entered the Slowpoke Well. The Rocket Grunts didn't offer much resistance and neither did Proton.
-Trained Mareep to Lv. 15 in the Well, evolving her.
-Entered the Azalea Gym. Zubat and Quilava cleared the trainers easily. Bugsy wasn't difficult either. Flaaffy handily defeated Scyther and the battle was a breeze after that.
-Caught a Bellsprout for Cut, did the Farfetch'd quest and traveled through Ilex Forest.
-Fought a lot of trainers in Route 34 and the Goldenrod underground thingie.
-After this, I finished Magikarp's training against the Wildies of Route 34, finally evolving him. Saved here.

I restarted my SoulSilver last week so I could relive the experience of the remake for my favorite region. =P

Recently, I defeated the Elite 4 and Lance. I got on the S.S. Aqua after catching a Dunsparce in Dark Cave for Pokedex reasons, battled all the trainers and found the man's missing granddaughter, then arrived in Vermillion City. Once I got done exploring all the houses and talking to all the people again (and having our picture taken =3), I went in the Vermillion gym and easily swept through the Gym trainers with my Nidoqueen. I was planning on challenging Lt. Surge, but I've decided to head back to Johto to level grind a few more levels so all of my Pokemon are at least level 53 since his Electabuzz is level 53 and the highest level of his team.

    Team:
    -Feraligatr (Fernando): Level 51
    -Lanturn: Level 51 [Magnet]
    -Espeon: Level 49
-Nidoqueen (Queenie): Level 49 [Soft Sand]
    -Steelix: Level 48
    -Ninetales: Level 48 [Charcoal]

For the most part, I've just been doing EV training, without the EV reducing berries, which I totally didn't realize I used the last of them. I guess I'm putting that on hold. Anyone else OCD about their PC boxes and go through and put them in order starting at #1? I recently did this in order to try to figure out which Kanto and Johto ones I'm missing. I have a long way to go. It almost seems as if I have more Hoenn pokemon than anything else.

Lately, I've just been focusing on training. I took on the Elite Four a second time and realized that my team was seriously underleveled compared to their stronger ones . Been taking on and crushing the Gym Leaders by calling them when I can nonstop.
I've been EV training too, but I'm running out of canidates, so I'm gonna work on trading with Platinum version and catching.
Annnd . . . for the time being that's it.

I traded and got an Alakazam at the GTS!!! Exciting but the nature was neutral and it had very bad IV's. It was still fine though.
I started EV training right away and maxed my speed EV's.
The moveset is going to be pretty standard. Energy Ball/Focus Blcast/Psychic/Calm Mind

I also have and adamant nuzleaf that I'm going to breed with and get a shiftry with good IV's.

Training at the battle frontier for TM's currently. I enjoy the battle factoy and it's exciting when the pokemons movesets get better as you get a higher win streak.

Arrived in Goldenrod, easily took down the trainers on Route 34, got the Coin Case and played Voltorb Flip until I had enough coins to purchase an Abra. Using the bait-and-switch method of training, I managed to get Abra to that next level so she could evolve into a Kadabra. I fought some more trainers and wild Pokemon, getting my team up to lv. 21 before challenging Whitney. Her junior trainers fell easily to team, but her Miltank gave me some trouble, but I pulled through.

I then obtained the Squirtbottle, used it on Sudowoodo, and captured it. Make quick work of the trainers on the way to Ecruteak, before going to the Burnt Tower to challenge my rival, it was a quick fight. I then trained some more, and tomorrow I challenge Morty for the Fog Badge!

^You know that Valkyries are primarily female, right? At least, all the Valkyries I've ever heard of are. Just being nit-picky about your Fearow's name.
Please stop complaining about Pikachu losing to "weak" Pokemon at the start of each new region. Its power is drained at the start of each new region, and anyway, it's equally bad storytelling for Pikachu to plow through all of its opponents.

I trained for the Battle Frontier this morning. I got in tons of training by battling tons of Gym Leaders I had left in the Saffron City Dojo like Whitney, Misty, Morty, and Bugsy. Thanks to the Lucky Eggs, my Pokemon earned more experience than usual and I finally felt comfortable battling in the Pokemon Tower. I decided to challenge it and try for the 100 win streak, but first I wanted to challenge Palmer after 20 battles. I went in with Lucario, Suicune, and Entei and battled my way through 20 battles and finally had Palmer of the Battle Frontier appear. His team was a challenge to beat since I wasn't prepared for Dragonite but I defeated it with some luck. I beat his Milotic and Rhyperior with Lucario and Suicune, respectively. Won the Silver Print from the Battle Tower. I'll continue to challenge the Battle Tower in the coming days. Saved.

I caught all of the roaming legendaries and Suicune. I defeated Brock and my rival at Mt. Moon and now I'm going to beat Blaine and Blue and then I might try to capture the birds and Mewtwo before challenging the Elite 4 again.

Yikes, it's been two months since I posted here! Fortunately, not much happened in those two months--for the most part I just trained my team a bit, finally got around to exploring (and training in) Mt. Silver, migrated a few Pokemon/items from my GBA games (including several TMs) and leveled up Pokemon with the Pokewalker (especially my Umbreon, who reached level 70 that way). Also, last week I caught quite a few legendaries: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Suicune, and Latias (the event one), all without Master Balls. But I did have to restart a couple of times due to bad natures (Latias kept getting an Impish nature). I used quite a few balls here, but nothing too serious.

    Also recently:
    - I caught a Bibarel and turned it into an HM slave--for Surf, Waterfall, and Rock Climb. I needed this HM slave to reach Moltres.
    - Tully FINALLY gave me a Water Stone, loooong after I really needed one. I even had my Starmie following me when I talked to him--the same Starmie who needed that stone back before I beat the Elite Four.
    - I've been on the lookout for Chansey swarms so I can look for a Lucky Egg... but none have come yet.

But I did a lot in Soul Silver this weekend:

    ~Saturday~

I spent most of today training eight Pokemon: the ones who will be on my E4/Red team(s). This was also my first time being in Mt. Silver at night, so some of my Pokemon got to fight wild Misdreavus (including my own Mismagius). The Pokemon were as follows:

    Vixen (Ninetales, Hasty nature) @TwistedSpoon
    Ability: Flash Fire
    Flamethrower
    Will-O-Wisp
    Nasty Plot
    Extrasensory
    * I caught her as a Vulpix on Route 36, and she was my hardest Pokemon to train until she became a Ninetales. I've been debating on whether to replace her Extrasensory with Dark Pulse, but Extrasensory worked out just fine so far.

Durza (Mismagius, Hardy nature) @Choice Specs
    Ability: Levitate
    Shadow Ball
    Psychic
    Grudge
    Power Gem
    * I was very surprised to find him as a Misdreavus in the Safari Zone in the daytime. I almost wish I could replace his Grudge with Perish Song, but it's too late for that...

    Anubis (Umbreon, Brave nature) @Leftovers
    Ability: Synchronize
    Confuse Ray
    Return
    Moonlight
    Faint Attack
    * I received him from Bill a long time ago, and took him on a trip through the Whirl Islands before he evolved. He's my sturdiest Pokemon and used to make good use of Last Resort.

Lestelle (Starmie, Modest nature) @nothing in particular
    Ability: Illuminate
    Surf
    Psychic
    Thunderbolt
    Ice Beam
    * Probably my best Pokemon overall, minus the fact that it has the less favoured ability. I was lucky to get a Modest nature on the first try (I caught it on Route 47), but it wasn't in my first E4 team because I couldn't find a Water Stone.

Amidala (Gardevoir, Timid nature) @nothing in particular
    Ability: Trace
    Psychic
    Wish
    Calm Mind
    Focus Blast
    * She only took on this moveset recently--for the longest time she had Magical Leaf and Shock Wave instead of Focus Blast and Wish in order to make training easier. I think I took her current moveset directly from Smogon...

Lancelot (Gallade, Jolly nature) @Shell Bell/Muscle Band
    Ability: Steadfast
    Leaf Blade
    Close Combat
    Swords Dance
    Psycho Cut
    * He and Amidala are brother and sister--I bred them in Emerald using a Ditto and a Gardevoir. They were born with Calm Mind, Psychic, and Shockwave. Lancelot was a False Swiper for a while before he learned Close Combat.

Pan (Flygon, Naive nature) @ nothing in particular
    Ability: Levitate
    Dragon Claw
    Fire Blast
    Crunch
    Earthquake
    * The only mixed sweeper on my team. For the longest time he sat in a box in Sapphire, but after I migrated him things started to change. Interestingly, he was a bit difficult to train in Mt. Silver at first...

Yamiko (Absol, Naughty nature) @Shell Bell
    Ability: Super Luck
    Psycho Cut
    Rock Slide
    Swords Dance
    Night Slash
    * The newest addition to my team--I caught her in Mt. Mortar with the Hoenn Sound, and named her after one of my RPG characters. But the RPG character actually suffers from bad luck, so it's ironic that this Absol has Super Luck as an ability. It's because of this ability that I didn't migrate an Absol instead (only Pressure is available there).
When I got everyone to level 65 (except Anubis, who was at level 70 already thanks to being in the Pokewalker so often), I took Vixen, Durza, Lestelle, Lancelot, Yamiko, and Pan to Indigo Plateau and battled the Elite Four again. Now, last time I beat the E4, my team was at the level of the highest-level Pokemon there (Lance's level 50 Dragonite). This time, most of the E4's Pokemon were at higher levels than my team, and all of them had six Pokemon. So overall it was harder than last time. Also, last time Koga was the easiest to defeat; this time he was the hardest. His Crobat gave my Pokemon quite a bit of trouble, and disrupted Lancelot's sweeping streak early. But no more than one of my Pokemon fainted in any given battle, so it wasn't too bad.

As for the easiest E4 member to defeat... Surprisingly, that was Lance! Lestelle swept away five of his Pokemon with OHKO's--it helped that it had high Speed and that all of Lance's Pokemon had a 4x weakness. (I'm so glad I taught Lestelle the BoltBeam combo--that's basically what it used the whole time.) Lestelle probably could have made easy work of Charizard with Surf, but to keep the 4x weakness streak going, I had Durza defeat him with a Power Gem. So yes, people, if you're having a hard time with Lance, get some Pokemon with Ice, Electric, and Rock attacks and either high Speed or Choice Scarves (my Lapras swept most of Lance's team last time with one of those).

After the E4 challenge, I trained my team even more, getting Anubis to level 71 so he could finally learn Moonlight (before that he knew Screech). I got everyone to level 69 or 70, ascended to the top of Mt. Silver in preparation for facing Red... but at that point it was late, so I decided to put off the battle to tomorrow.

Oh, also today I had a re-match with Whitney. She wasn't too hard to defeat, but her Miltank did cause a few problems for some of my team, particularly thanks to Attract. I think she ended up KOing my Gallade because of that...

    ~Sunday~

Well, you probably know the first thing I did: battle Red. For this, I needed my highest-level Rock Climb slave: a level 44 Ursaring. The rest of my team consisted of Anubis, Durza, Pan, Lestelle, and Amidala. As for the battle... it was possibly the most intense battle I had in the whole game (well, save maybe for the battle with Lugia and Blue).

So I started off the battle with Anubis because I didn't know what Red would send out first. He sent out a level 88 Pikachu. Then it started hailing, and immediately I knew that all that hard work of Anubis learning Moonlight was for nothing. Well, Anubis got 2HKO'd by Volt Tackle, but got to confuse Pikachu inbetween. Unfortunately, Pikachu never hurt himself in confusion. But the next Pokemon I sent out was Pan, who turned out to be faster than Pikachu and OHKO'd him with an Earthquake.

Then Red sent out Lapras, and here started the most difficult part of the battle. It was Hailing and Lapras knew Blizzard--that was a problem. I even had to use a Max Revive on Anubis to help out. But after a while I sent out Amidala, who used Focus Blast. Red used a Full Restore on Lapras, and Amidala took out about half Lapras' HP with another Focus Blast. Then she barely survived a Blizzard and the Hail damage. She KO'd Lapras with another Focus Blast after surviving a Blizzard, and the Hail damage brought her down to 2HP.

Red's next Pokemon was Snorlax. Anubis did some damage before being KO'd by Blizzards. Then Amidala got in one Focus Blast before being KO'd by Crunch. Pan eventually had to finish the job with an Earthquake, after surviving another Blizzard. But immediately afterward, he fainted from Hail damage.

At that point all I had left was Durza, Lestelle, and my Ursaring. So when Red sent out his Venusaur, I sent out the Ursaring to stall while reviving Amidala. Venusaur made quick work of the Ursaring with a Giga Drain. But Amidala 2HKO'd Venusaur with Psychic, getting poisoned from Sludge Bomb inbetween. And then came a stroke of luck: Durza OHKO'd his Charizard with a critical-hit Power Gem.

Red's last Pokemon was Blastoise. Durza used Grudge first, thinking Blastoise would OHKO him, but he didn't. So then Durza used Shadow Ball and lowered Blastoise's Special Defense, before being KO'd by a Blizzard. So I sent out Lestelle, who finished Blastoise off with a Thunderbolt. I was actually surprised I won the battle, since my Pokemon were level 69-71 and Red's Pokemon were in their 80's.

But after that I took my legendary birds and a couple of HM slaves, plus a Buneary I caught earlier, and traveled all around Johto and Kanto, picking up some missed items and Apricorns along the way. I also got a Charmander from Professor Oak, got a Treecko from Steven, got the GB sounds (which I played for the rest of the trip), and traded a Krabby for a Voltorb from a man in Olivine City. After this trip was done, I decided to fool around in the Pokeathlon for a while--my new Treecko and Voltorb aced the Speed Course along with one of my Combees, and I barely won on the Stamina Course with a Teddiursa, Lunatone, and Mudkip.

I also had a rematch with Sabrina today--just like last time, I had my own Alakazam KO her Alakazam. This time she knew Shadow Ball, so that helped. Overall a relatively easy battle. The only unfortunate part was that Yamiko lost early on to a Focus Blast, and thus she was unavailable when Wobbuffet came out. But I took care of Wobbuffet with my Gengar, who won by putting her to sleep then using Shadow Ball.

Well I won't document every detail about what's been happening. I got all 8 badges, and got a Dratini off the Dragon Master. Then I got the master ball off Pf. Elm, and faced all the Kimo girls (I saved it first of course). All my pokemon fainted, so I turned it off for the night. This morning I gave it another try, and because I knew what order all the eeveelutions were coming, I won So they told me to meet them at Whirl Islands, but in the grass South of the theatre, I came across Entei.... So I threw my master ball at it, cause I already have Lugia sitting in my Pearl game, from the last time I played Soul Silver - and I didn't get any of the roaming legendaries, so yeah. Now I had Entei sitting in my PC because I don't want to use any legendaries for the E4.

Well since last time, I managed to defeat Clair. She was actually really simple. I set up Toxic Spikes and then swept her team with Thunderbolt and Ice Beam. Possibly the easiest battle with her I've ever had. Thanks in no small part due to actually not being underleveled for once.

Then I took on the Kimono Girls, who were also relatively simple.

I had basically spent the last few days trying to catch Ho-oh. It was quite surreal last night, I had three other people watching as I attempted to catch Ho-oh, and eventually did, in a Pokeball. (Usually I actually set out to catch legendaries in Pokeballs, but this time it was actually due to the fact that I had no other balls left to use, so I got lucky.) At the request of my friends I nicknamed him Douchebag.

Traded a few shards for lotsa berries, and now I guess I have to head for the Pokemon League. Journey ho!

on my heartgold I trained typhlosion to level 70, and I decided to give the battle factory another go, after 20 wins I finaly battled the frontier brain where he first defeated with his granbull my gastrodon then I send out my togekiss where one air slash was enough for a defeated granbull, then he sended out a gyarados which I defeated with my togekiss, then he send out his espeon which outspeeded my togekiss and defeated it, then I send out my last, Charizard trying to go for a crunch on his espeon, espeon used reflect so I was *ughh* and my crunch was a critical hit! take that battle frontier hax and I got the silver print and 20 BP

I got SoulSilver. Finally, another chance to catch a good Ho-oh!
I'm taking it slower than Heartgold, which I got through in three days. Or at least, I hope to. In the one day I've had it I've gotten three badges and am almost to Ecruteak.

I started with Chikorita for lulz, and caught a Pidgey almost right off the bat. I'm experimenting with a few pokemon I haven't used before, and I must say, Onix is incredible early game. I got Rocky to use on Falkner, and if not for Rocky levelling up to 10 and not listening to me half way through, Falkner was easy.

I sped down to Union cave to get an Onix with my ID on it, and grinded him up before returning to, and going though, Union Cave. Onix then had a field day destroying Rocket Grunts in the well, resisting poison and laughing in the face of all those Ratatta. Onix also wiped the floor with Bugsy.

Ilex Forest, nothing interesting- oh wait, Chikorita is evolving! Out of Ilex Forest, Pidgey evolved! Still only a three man team, although I did catch an Oddish to use as a temporary HM slave.

Whitney, why are you so damn hard? I had an ingenious (or maybe overly cautious) strategy to beat her, but it didn't quite turn out that well. Clefairy wasn't a problem, Bayleef poisoned it with poison powder and then neutralised the damage it tried to do with reflect and synthesis, whittling it down with razor leaf.

Then came Miltank. I tried to poison it, but its lum berry screwed me over. Poisoned it again, Bayleef is down to half health. He's only got one thing left to do. I tried to set up the reflect, but I got flinch haxxed by stomp and then KO'd, so out comes Onix to tank it. It attracts me, but I manage to get off a rock tomb and slow it down (Onix is suprisingly fast, at base 70 speed) so it can't para (attract)-flinch me. A super potion and some rage later, Onix finally managed to take it out through Bayleef's poison and using rock tomb and rock throw. Pidgeotto didn't get to do anything in that fight.

I went up to the next route and Pidgeotto caught up to Onix and Bayleef in levels, and then it was Bug Catching Contest time! I was looking for one of two things, a Scyther or a Butterfree. In the end I encountered Butterfree first, but even catching it at full health only netted me third. Oh well.

That same Butterfree then helped me catch my next team member, Vulpix. Put it to sleep before it could use roar, and then pretty self explanitory after that. Unfortunately, in my haste to get to the Bug Catching Contest (I barely made it, it was 11:50 PM when I caught Butterfree), I forgot the damn squirtbottle. So I had to travel all the way back to Goldenrod to get it.

The last thing I did was catch Sudowoodo, and start training up Vulpix.

    The team so far:
    Bayleef - lvl 21
    Razor Leaf
    Reflect
    Synthesis
    PoisonPowder

Yeah, one attacking move. Oh well, I really wanted reflect for Miltank.

    Pidgeotto - lvl 20
    Gust
    Quick Attack
    Tackle
    Sand-attack

No great moves yet, oh well.

    Onix - lvl 20
    Rock Throw
    Rock Tomb
    Rage
    Screech

I love this guy. Colossal defense, and suprisingly quick.

    Vulpix - lvl 15
    Ember
    Quick Attack
    Roar
    Tail Whip

Another meh moveset, but can't do much about that yet.
