Nagasaki in Pokemon?
I was reading my history book the other day. I found out that Nagasaki was located on the Japanese island that Hoenn is based off of.
I did a comparative look. It appears that Slateport is based off of Nagasaki. So, Slateport would be effectively "Atom Bombed" and has grown in 60 years.

Kanto did it? No, no, Orre did it. Orre is based off of Arizona, which is, quite obviously, in the US. (It's also right next to New Mexico, which is where the nuke was tested.)
