I decided to go in another direction. Ther same exact Fic, but it's gonig to take place earlier in the timeline. Then you won't all break your brains deciphering what happens in which order like I'm afraid you all did.
I'm asking you all to forget everything that happened in the previous fic as 90% of that will still be canon
Spoiler:- Prologue.:
The Curious Case of Jin and Luppi
“He’s infiltrating the ranks.”
“We knew he would. His power is unparalleled.”
“There’s only one thing we can do.”
“Agreed. There is too much peace right now.”
“We’re doing the right thing, right?”
“Right.”
“….Good-bye.”
_______
There was peace. The world was calm and the hollow attacks were, in general, dying down. It appeared the shinigami were finally gaining an edge against the war against hollows. Injuries are minimal, Humans are still unaware of Shinigami, and aggressive arrancar have not been sighted recently. All is right with the world. The shinigami are becoming a universal power to be feared. Despite the loss of numerous captains in previous years, such as Sir Gibhul and Captain Setme, an equally strong string of shinigami have taken their place.
All is right with the world.
The peaceful, calm, busy Soul Society moves on.
The sun is shining.
The clouds are nowhere to be found.
Several little black butterflies gracefully glide across the air, enchanting the lesser shinigami and belittling the lieutenants. Like sparkles of energy fall across their path as they shine. Magic itself was emanated from the fragile figures as they flew across Soul Society. Ever Graceful, Ever Perfect, Agile and Shiny. The picture of nature.
Of course, riding on their wings was a touch of magic. Just a touch. A telepathic message written in invisible ink upon their wings in only the most magical way. Several different places, the butterflies touched down for only a moment. All at the same time.
And all at the same time, loud “WHAT!?”s rang throughout the small walled city.
_____
“You all know why I’ve called you here today.” Golde said solemnly, several butterflies, having completed their job, loitered on his desk around a particularly shiny candy wrapper-apparently intrigued by the radiance it gave off between the chocolate smudges. No one, however, was paying attention to the black butterflies observing the discarded remains of the candy.
No one spoke. “It appears that we’ve lost several more captains, Eleventh Squad Luppi and Second Squad Jin. We’ve gathered here today to discuss proper steps to be taken in order to incite the least amount of uproar and to find those most capable of filling the positions” Golde’s voice was heavy and slow. Precise and careful. Sad and Neutral.
“Just tell ‘em the truth.” Someone muttered in a deathly whisper. “It’s been happening a lot recently anyways.”
A moment of silence passed before the comment was disregarded.
“I nominate Cam Blue (A/N: Difference number One. While I’m going to have to twist the plot a bit, I think I can make this work. Although she’s still gonna be a major Tomboy.)” Eon said emotionlessly, staring straight ahead of him, at the wall on the opposite side of the room, as he made his appeal. “Her combat skill and bloody perspective would be a fitting match for the eleventh squad.”
“Bloody? I didn’t know you were in England recently” Ryuu said, trying to lighten the mood slightly.
“…I wasn’t” Eon muttered.
“O-ohkay then….I’ll go ahead and nominate Magnus (A/N: Arc gets to be Akira again, btw.)” to the position of Second Squad Captain. His skills are diverse and he’s as agile as he is intelligent.” Ryuu said calmly.
A silence encapsulated the room as the two nominations went unchallenged.
“Next order of business.” Golde called, banging his desk with a gavel for the fun of it; although for once it wasn’t as amusing.
“Jin is rarely seen by the public anyways, however Luppi was a popular figure.” Ryuu said monotonously, as if reading stats off a computer
“We could ‘Send her off on a mission’ and have her ‘come back dead’” Ryuu noted. A couple deathglares sent him taking a step backwards.
“We could tell the truth.” Kida sighed loudly.
“We could hide it for as long as possible.” Akira shrugged.
“All those who agree with telling the truth, say Aye.” Golde called out monotonously.
“Aye.”
“I.”
“The Square Root of Negative One”
”Aye…?”
“I…”
“i”
“I suppose that is enough…” Golde muttered. “We will test the two nominees tomorrow and send out an announcement about Luppi and Jin after the new captains have been finalized. Dismissed.” He threw his gavel up in the air.
____
“The preliminary test shall be a random series of fights against increasingly powerful opponents.” Golde said from his observer chair, which was really just a cheap chair that Ryuu had attached a large rocket to.
Cam held up her first opponent, who was incapacitated in the blink of an eye, and yawned. “It was hard not to kill them with that one slash.”
Magnus, however, was not even fighting. He was holding his opponent at gunpoint-or more accurately-byakurai point. His fingers pressed against their back as small electric pulses buzzed through the other’s body. And easy forfeit without lifting a finger.
-Round Two-
Having defeated their previous opponents with such ease, the difference between the level of their previous and next opponents was incredible. The two shinigami were experts in their fields with years under their obis.
Immediately, they released.
”Scar, Ricordo!” The male shinigami fighting Cam was rather scrawny looking, with a serious glint in his eyes and titanium glasses upon his face. His short dark hair and pale skin made an interesting contrast. His blade glowed with a black light before exploding into black crystals around him. The crystals projected black light everywhere, shrouding the battlefield in an eerie black light. The sheer jet black air excreted oppressive energy, fear and agony.
The black “Fog” faded and the shinigami lay on the ground with Cam standing on top of him with a bored look on her face.
“Reiterate, Viluppo” The man fighting Magnus said steely. His Zanpakutou suddenly changed form it’s Katana form. The blade seemed to droop forwards as the hilt dissolved and thinned out. In a moment his katana had dissolved into a steel wire with a sharp bronze disk at the end of it. He swung it around rapidly, and the world itself bent and curved and fluctuated.
“Viluppo thins the line between reality and imagination. Distorting it and making minute fractures.” He said, swinging it around wildly as space distorted. Gravity began to fail as anything not anchored to the ground began to rise, including pebbles, dust, and the two fighters.
“…” Magnus just quietly stared at the man before turning around, his sheer energy breaking the power of Viluppo and righting the previously screwed laws of Physics. He turned around for a moment and spoke one word. “Shakkahou.” The low level kidou easily brought the other shinigami to their knees.
-Round Five-
Having easily decimated their ways through the ranks, the two shinigami were now to fight captain-level shinigami. Most of the captains were entirely unskeptical about the fighting skill and worth of the two shinigami as captains. However, it was still to be done.
“Hello, Cam, Magnus. Dauc and I were assigned to be your final opponents. The battle will not be decided by the victor, but by the talents shown during battle.” Kida said, twirling her paintbrush as Dauc stood boredly behind her, A Baselard in his hand.
“Let’s get this over with.” Dauc murmured.
Cam’s opponent was Kida. (A/N: While writing this I realized that Kida’s Eye Of The Storm technique was, like, made for me)
Immediately, both fighters sprang into action. Cam immediately dashed forwards, her sword pointing forward as a ball of red energy grew on the end of it. In a moment she was dashing behind a shakkahou. Kida drew a teardrop in the air, the symbol of water. A wall of water appeared before her, dehumidifying the air and killing the grass as she put out the shakkahou and launched a torrent of water at the running Cam.
“Disappear and Reappear, Kagebu!” She shouted, finally releasing her Zanpakutou. Nothing major happened, her blade turned jet black and nothing else happened. It was just a color change. Until Cam appeared behind Kida, slashing at her from her shadow.
Kida burst into the air, leaving only a symbol of air in her wake. The two symbols glowed in the air, before shards of ice rained down on Cam. She faded away. She popped out a short distance away, before slashing several Raikouhous at Kida. However Kida gently flew away from the projectile attack.
“Grrr…Bankai!”
And so it would happen that Cam and Magnus would both become the next captains of the Thirteen Court Guard Squad, the Eleventh and Second squads, respectively.
A new era had begun, however unknown that fact may have been...
