Nah, I just thought this design looked awesome, and I wanted to use it. It's from the game Okami, for the PS2. I just cleaned the background. xD
The effect of my shikai is that, whatever it touches, becomes a pseudo-magnet, even if it's not a metallic object. Also, the sword itself feels incredibly light to me, but it'd feel insanely heavy to anyone else who tried to pick it up, because using it's powers allows me to constantly keep it off the ground by propelling it from the earth around me. This uses an extremely tiny amount of reiatsu, because it's a thing I do subconciously.
Anything the blade touches gets shocked. Once an object becomes a pseudo-magnet, I can manipulate it when I'm within a 2 metre radius.
Depending on how I change the strenght and the polarity of the object, I can push it away with a great deal of force or attract it.
Not only can I change the strenght and the polarity of the object(s) that is a pseudo magnet, I can also change the strenght and polarity of my own Zanpaktou.
So for example, if I went to attack an enemy with a big marble statue, I could just touch it then send it flying at the opponent, or if my sword clashes with the opponents zanpaktou, I could then send it flying or pin it to my blade while leaving the enemy open.
I can also use the molecules around my feet, making their polarities the same as mine, and use it to give myself a burst of speed - but constantly doing it when running expends a good deal of reiatsu.
Also, my hilt, which, as you might see is a wheel, does an eighth of a turn every second, thus making a full turn in 8 seconds. For every 10 full turns (or 80 seconds) I get one metre of range. So that's 9 metres in 10 minutes, and 17 metres in 20 minutes.
Needless to say, the stronger the pushes/pulls are, the more reiatsu they expend. I can only change the polarity and strenght of an object when I'm touching the object.
