Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Help Thread [UBER EDITION] [READ THE FIRST POST]

Ok, I wasted like... all my cash on vitamins on my Eevee, and it has two hearts on it now. I know it's ready cause it accidently evolved into espeon w/e, then I had to redo like an hour. But I guess I don't gotta waste my money then. Wish it would turn to night someday.

I got two more questions.

When do those Psyducks leave on route 210, cause it seems that the shiny stone is in the area they're blocking.

How does the Safari zone work? I want to catch a Yanma but it keeps running away! I don't know if the safari zone has always been like that. Only recent one I played was saph and I never entered the safari zone there.

After you get both Veilstone and Pastoria Gyms there will be a Team Galactic grunt in Pastoria, you talk to him a follow him. After you Chase him you find Cynthia she'll give you the Secret medicine. "Talk" to the Psyducks and they will move.

The Safari zone works just like all the others. I just keep throwing balls and hope to get lucky. Yanma has about 10-15% chance of getting Caught per throw. (Going off a Safari Ball rate that stated it was 1.5 times a Standard Pokéball, like Great Balls.)

Gym leader Wake sucks, unbelievable...

Im in route 210, but it looks like I need w/e skill for climbing those cliffs. Unless I overlooked an area. Where's that stupid shiny stone? Not that my Roselia is struggling atm, but im getting impatient.

to get a shiny stone in DP its in route 228, in Pt its on iron island, route228, and you could use a dowsing machine on route 210

you may want to take gengar out since you already have an alakazam and they both have amazing sp attack but imo alakazam has a better movepool and put duskull and make it a dusknoir it has amazing sp defense and defense

So I have a basic question about evolution and stats... I feel dumb for asking this but I've been confused about it and can't find a clear answer.

Say I have a Pikachu. I get him to Level 80. Then I use a Thunderstone to evolve him into Raichu. I get Raichu to Level 100. Now, will that Raichu still have [relatively, ignoring IVs and EVs] the same stats as if I had evolved that Pikachu at Level 1? For some reason, I always thought that an evolved form's "higher stats" don't actually go into play until AFTER they've evolved (as in, now that they have evolved, from here on, they will be higher). But when I evolved Poliwag into Poliwhirl, I noticed there was this huge HP boost to it, as if it was making up for the difference in the base stats. Have I really just never caught that before?

No matter what level you evolve a pokemon, it will still have the same stats.

The female can pass on natures if holding an Everstone, there's a 50% chance of passing it on.

You can't get a Shiny Stone at route 210... The only ways are at Iron Island, Route 228 and you have a chance that a Pokémon with Pickup will give you one.

Oh nevermind, found one inside iron island. Just need to find sludge bomb for my roserade.

How do you get the prehistoric pokemon, and are you limited to just one like the other games? That rock head dinosaur seems interesting but it's defenses are as bad as a bug.

If you mean fossil Pokémon, nope, you aren't. You can find them in the Underground.

Yes. The only thing is that it'll show ??? as Dex Number for that Pokémon.

Actually, pre-National Dex, in either D/P/Pt, you're limited to one of the two Sinnoh Fossils. In DP, I believe Sheildon is only Pearl, while Cranidos is only Diamond.

As for Platinum, it depends on your I'd. If your I'd number ends in an odd number, I think its Sheildon, but if it ends in an even number, it is Cranidos.

But on all 3 games, once you get the National Dex, all Fossils are unlocked.

Spiritomb has one of the worst gimmicks to get in all of Pokemon. First, you need to set the Odd Keystone on Route 209. Then, you have to go into the Underground and talk to 32 people. Easiest way to do this is get two DSs, and two Diamond, Pearl, Platinum carts able to go underground. Talk to the mule guy, then go into your secret base and try to decorate. Leave your base and talk to him again. Repeat unil you have talked to them 32 times. Worst part is that you can't skip the decorate part, as it doesn't count unless its a) a physically different avatar or b) one of you "leaves" the Underground. Do all this, then talk to the Keystone to fight Spiritomb.
