Mudkip, because he really had an advantage for the first couple of gyms. I remember using Torchic for Rustboro...Gawd it was awful. Fire and Rock...urgh. But Mudkip pwns the Rustboro gym.![]()

PM me if you want to be friends!!!
I chose Trecko b/c that is what my bro picked. That and he was purdy cute.
~Faith, love 'n hope <3~
Mudkip ftw!! I had just gotten back into pokemon and made the switch between 2nd and 3rd generations back in 2005. I had to make a spur of the moment decision. So I choose Mudkip because of choosing Cyndaquil in pokemon Gold. And I LOVED!! Mudkip and its evolutions. that file in Saphire was the FUNNEST game I had ever played. Mudkip, Marshtomp and Swampert were fantastic! Best starter I ever chose.
Definately Torchic , then catch a grass type to beat the rocks. Most other games, I'll take the water type only because it takes longer before you can catch a water type (have to find the fishing rod first). The best benefit for starting with Mudkipis to beat electric types.
Zeffrus got 'em all!
The first time I played a 3rd generation game - Ruby, to be specific - I chose Torchic... because I thought it was cute, I like Fire-types (for the most part) and had no idea it would look like crap when it evolved to Combusken -_-
Of course, later it improved somewhat when it became a Blaziken and, truth be told, the Fire/Fighting combo was very useful throughout the whole game. In fact, it's probably the only starter that can easily beat the whole game solo
Since then, though, I've decided to try Mudkip more often. I'm still trying to figure out what would be the best "up to 6" team for this game, but I'm leaning towards having a Mudkip every time.
Regardless, I voted Torchic because it was my first choice.
I chose Treecko, because I didn't know the final evolutions so I thought a lizard would be cooler than a bird and a fish-thing. Treecko turned out to be pretty cool looking but if I ever replay Sapphire, I think I'll choose Torchic.

In Sapphire I chose Mudkip because it was it was cute and blue. Then in Emerald I chose Torchic because of looks again.
I had a hard time choosing between torchic and mudkip but I ended up picked mudkip because it covers most of the gyms.
I chose Torchic on pokemon Sapphire(my first pokemon game).
Also, Mudkip on Emerald.
If you dont choose mudkip, he will not liek you.
Torchic for me. I love Blaziken.![]()
I've always chose Treecko.
Mudkip is so useless in this game.
well, I have all three games, so each one had a different starter so I could cross-trade them. However, my first starter, from Sapphire, was a Torchic. Best random decision ever, I blazed through the game if you'll pardon the pun.![]()
It's not the Pokemon that are the aliens...
Landing at Fort Haven might not have been the smartest idea...
We'll cross oceans and conquer all, as long as we're together.

Uhhh Mudkip! He evolves into Swampert, Hes water and ground so hard luck for Electric type moves and he Swampert learns earthquake..Ice beam to dominate the Treeko evolutions and Earthquake to dominate the Torchic evolutions..
