I remember having a SwampertShould of picked Torchic though
Torchic
Mudkip
Treecko
Picked Treecko in Ruby (my main 3rd generation game) and happened to get a female one. Funny thing, 'cause I started Emerald again a while ago and picked Treecko... and got a female one again. I kept restarting Sapphire whenever I completed it, so there my starter varied between Mudkip and Torchic.
I chose Mudkip, because I always pick the water starter. Plus Swampert destroyed everything in sight:-)
on Ruby, I chose Mudkip, and on Emerald, Treecko.
Think I did Torchic on Sapphire
Saying sorry
won't
change anything
I always just choose the pokemon with the same type as the color of the cartridge. (Foe ex., Treecko for emerald.)
is the best like no one ever was...
Papa Bear to all units! Red Dog! Red Dog! Casualty count is high! Move to reinforce outpost immediately, over!
I choose Mudkip almost every time I play R/S/E. Very rarely do I choose Torchic, and never do I choose Treecko.

I can say I've used all of them but I used Mudkip most of the time. I like all 3 starters but Swampert is immune to electric moves so that's a plus.
1. Charmander, Charizard has deadly attack and really fast making it a sweeper.
2. Cyndaquil, Typhlosion has fire coming out of its back! Not to mention it's a powerhouse because of it's supra high sp. atk and high speed.
3. Piplup, because Empoleon is a penguins and penguins are awesome. Lol, it's also steel type so it's harder to take down.
This is some good grass dude!
I pick...
Squitle (because wartortle is my favorite pokemon)
Chikorita (high defense/special defense when Meganium)
Piplup (not really into the 4th gen starters but ive trained a good Empoleon)
Obviously I like the fire pokemon but i like finding them in the game and using pokemon such as Arcanine, Ninetails, Flareon, Torkoal or teaching different type pokemon fire moves to surprise....

I chose Mudkip in Ruby because I already trained Torchic and Treecko in other games and wanted to change it up a bit.
I didn't even play this game, but it would of been.. Torchic.
Torchiccause he cute and he evolve to the awsome blaziken XD
I chose Torchic because my aunt was sitting beside me watchng me play (this was the day she bought me the game so I'd have something to do while I was sitting in the hospital) and she pointed to Torchic and said, "That one's cute! You should choose that one." So I did.
NEVER to this day have I regretted it! *hugs Blaziken* <3

Mudkip was my first choice in Ruby, but I've played with all of them later on.
Spoiler:- Gen V Trades:
I started over numerous times, but the one I picked the most, and the one I picked first, was Treecko. I just preferred its design, I guess, to Mudkip and Torchic.
Xerneas, the Midgard Pokemon. Xerneas's branch-like horns are reminiscent of those
of the tree it guards. Its mighty horns contain jewels of dazzling colours. It chomps at
upper branches by craning its neck toward the sky. Xerneas protects the horizontal world.

Mudkip was my first starter in Sapphire.
I guess I wanted a change from the usual grass and fire starter selection from before, so I picked Mudkip and I haven't regretted this choice since. I love its design and its typing is incredibly useful too.
