    In both Diamond and Platinum, its Empoleon.
    It can learn all HM's but Fly! Empoleon FTW!

    Empoleon, mostly, but occasionally vaporeon and swampert.
    This "Pokemon Rainbow" rumored game is already killing me. I want it!

    I've used tons of different ones. Typically I just throw a rod into the water, and if it's not magikarp, I use it as my surf/waterfall slave.

    Mine's my Gyarados. I don't use HM slaves, so I gather Pokémon I know can learn the HM moves needed.

    Any water-type I find in my boxes.. WHENEVER there's water I have to switch out one of my team-mates.. Ugh so annoying. Next time I play through Platinum, I'm gonna have to get a REAL surfer. xD

    i have used the same rayquaza, in all my games since sapphire. I use him for fly, surf etc. and his level100 status is a good plan b.

    Empoleon. Always picked it as starter and Surf is a nice and strong STAB attack anyway for it to have. Allowing me to sail across water is just a bonus
