    Default Ring of Fire

    Our spirit burns intensively when we battle! We play with passion! We strike like a wildfire! Welcome to the Ring of Fire!

    Here we try to make sure every member can find a way to contribute and to enjoy the time here. We emphasize the non-battling and non-competitive variants of the game as much as the competitive value. We encourage all forms of gameplay and we'll always try to make our members happy.

    2. All guild section rules apply.
    3. All forms of spam are forbidden. Please keep the thread clean and contribute with relevant posts.
    4. Respect the leaders decisions. If you disagree with something, please discuss it by PM (not VM).
    5. Do not boast (and/or) try to get sympathy about ranks.
    6. Respect all other members.
    7. Discussing/offering/requesting hacked Pokémon and cheating devices is strictly forbidden by SSPf and we won't tolerate any kind of breaking of this rule.
    8. Put "Reshiram" somewhere in your application to make sure you read the rules.
    9. Be literate. Keep the posts clean.
    10. Be active. Check the lines below about how inactivity is handled.
    11. Have Fun!

    Inactivity Rules

    • If a member goes inactive for a month, he/she will be notified by PM/VM about the inactiveness.
    • If a member stays inactive for another two weeks after the first notification, he/she should be notified again and his/her membership will be suspended. To unlock the membership, the person will need to fill the application again, but will keep all the FP.
    • If a member still remains inactive up to 2 months, he/she will lose half the FP earned so far and the membership will remain suspended.
    • If a member stays inactive for 3 months without warning, he/she will be removed from the guild and must reapply, losing all FP gained in the process.

    If you warn the leaders about your absence, whatever the reason, these rules won't apply for the first 6 months. If you say you'll be out for a year though, you will have to leave the guild.
    Even if you need to take a break, come on and post at least once a month so I can keep your membership active.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Failure to comply with the internal rules of the guild will result in you getting an infraction.
    There are two categories:
    - Small Infraction: For breaking a general rule.
    - Severe Infraction: For deliberate or repeated rule breaking.
    5 Small Infractions or 2 Severe ones will get you banned from the guild. Infractions expire after 3 months.
    Our point system runs on Flame Points, or FPs. You earn points from a wide range of things. When you get enough points, you can rank-up. Here's the point assignment system for general stuff.
    Welcome to the Ring of Fire Competitive Corner! In this section we'll address all competitive issues within the guild.
    We'll also run on an academy-like format, where we aim to help new players to master the competitive scene. Don't be afraid of the unknown, we're here to help you start battling.
    If you want to join the competitive corner, please fill out the form:
    Code:
    Competitive Corner Application
    Username:
    Division:
    Experience with competitive battling:
    Apprentice/Master:
    There are two categories for you to sign up: Master and Apprentice.
    Masters doesn't mean they're the very best in the world. Just means they have experience. They're people who are more or less familiar with the standard metagames and that can help the newcomers. So, if you think you have a little to offer, sign up as a master.
    Apprentices are newcomers. People who have never experienced competitive before, or that don't know the standard singles formats.
    These sign ups are subjected to approval. My approval for the masters, and mine or any of the masters' approval for the apprentices. Don't sign up as a Master if you don't know much and don't sign up as an Apprentice if you have some experience with smogon rules ans PS. The idea is to teach the new players, so if you already have experience, you won't get anything from here.
    New activities are going to be brought for apprentices:
    • Novice tournaments [Apprentices Only]
      Pretty self explanatory. These are mini-tournaments for new players to battle someone of their level and improve their teams.
    • Weekly Battle Reports [Apprentices Only]
      You will be requested to submit a video or replay of at least one standard ranked battle per week for discussion. It can come from Battle Spot ranked Singles, an official competition, or any of the standard PS ladders for Smogon rules. This is not mandatory. 10 FP will be granted for each successful submitted battle until a maximum of 3 battles. You should make a detailed analysis of the battle including your thinking process for choosing the team, and the reasons you think led to your victory/defeat. This will help you think of more scenarios and learn from experience.
    • CCATs
      Some Create-A-Team Events are going to be created. The Masters should coordinate the process and let the Apprentices discuss and suggest.
    • Apprentice Rankings [Apprentices Only]
      A Special Ranking will be created for battles between apprentices within the guild in the same format as the other rankings.
    • Prizes!
      Extra FPs, 5IV Pokémon and maybe some events will be distributed on some occasions.
    MASTERS
    APPRENTICES
    ~Master Calem~
    Battling can be done in any standard format. All smogon standard tiers are considered as official battles, as well as all Battle Spot Flat or Normal rulesets. After you battle please post the following form.
    Code:
    Username:
    Battled with: [username]
    Result: [For example: Win 3-0]
    Ruleset:
    Only one member needs to post the result, but the second one must confirm it.
    Nintendo WiFi Tournaments have a higher ammount of battles, so you will only need to report the final result by filling the following form:
    Code:
    Username:
    Tournament:
    Wins:
    Losses:
    Rating:
    Rank:
    Each battle done on standard rules will count towards the guild ranking. There are two types of ranking, Standard and WiFi, since these are totally different metagames. Each win will give you 10 points, while a loss will cost you 5 points. As the number of entrees increases, points will be increased reduced according to the players classification.
    STANDARD RANKING
    For this ranking all battles done on PS or WiFi using smogon rules are counted.
    1. WhyBuffet W20 L4 Pts: 180
    2. Ekans647 W1 L0 Pts: 10
    3. Miss Meta Mon W2 L5 Pts: -5
    4. Ponymon W0 L1 Pts: -5
    5. Master Calem W0 L1 Pts: -5
    6. Mikazuki Marazhu W0 L1 Pts: -5
    7. Fire Hero W0 L1 Pts: -5
    8. Olzuupro W0 L2 Pts: -10
    9. LynxForte W5 L11 Pts: -15
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    WiFi RANKING

    For the WiFi ranking all Battle Spot Flat battles are allowed.
    1. Romeo32 W4 L1 Pts: 35
    2. Fire Hero W3 L4 Pts: 10
    3. Ponymon W2 L2 Pts: 10
    4. LynxForte W1 L0 Pts: 10
    4. WhyBuffet W1 L0 Pts: 10
    5. Shade2000 W2 L5 Pts: -5
    6. Kitt Geekazaru W0 L1 Pts: -5

    Here we focus more on the VGC metagame. We can discuss the metagame, build teams, battle for the WiFi ranking and more importantly, help the newcomers learn how to play in VGC format. It is the masters job to help the apprentices to build successful teams.

    If you want to join the VGC corner, please fill out the form:
    Code:
    VCG Corner Application
    Username:
    Division:
    Experience with VGC:
    Apprentice/Master:
    There will also be two categories: Master and Apprentice.

    Masters are not World Champions. They're just people who are more or less familiar with the metagame and the strategies and that can help the newcomers. So, if you think you have a little to offer, sign up as a master.
    Apprentices are newcomers. People who have never experienced competitive Double Battles before, or that are unaware of what is trending in the official World Championships format.
    These sign ups are subjected to my approval. Don't sign up as a Master if you don't know much and don't sign up as an Apprentice if you have some VGC experience. The idea is to teach the new players, so if you already have experience, you won't get anything from here.

    This is where the real action happens! This is the Ring of Fire War Team!

    Welcome to the Ring of Fire's war team section. My name is WhyBuffet, and I am the war team leader. One of our primary focuses here at the RoF war team is obviously to get into wars with other guilds and come away from those wars victorious. However, the war team's purpose goes much deeper than that. Within this war team are all kinds of Trainers; battle-hardened veterans who have been in the competitive scene for years, and wide-eyed greenhorns who have just joined the competitive side of things and want to try and better themselves. Whether young or old, skilled or novice, the RoF war team accepts all kinds of Trainers and turns them into the best possible versions of themselves. So what are you waiting for? Sign up now!

    Ah, but I am getting ahead of myself. Before signing up to the war team, perhaps I should take a moment to explain how things work around here. The RoF war team possesses an innovative feature for war teams: a ranking system. This war team ranking system is similar to the guild ranking system, yet there are some key differences. The purpose of this war team ranking system is to promote participation in, enjoyment of, and commitment to the war team and its functions.

    There are 6 war team ranks in total, and they are loosely based on military ranks: the officer, ensign, lieutenant, and commander ranks are normally attainable ranks, the captain rank is a special “second-in-command” rank, and the admiral rank is reserved for the war team leader. Below is a list of our current war team members and their ranks.
    *the information in the (round brackets) denotes battle preference, while the information in the [square brackets] denotes the number of war team points obtained so far*

    Officer (Torchic) - Starting Rank

        Spoiler:- War Team Members:

    Ensign (Darumaka) - 25 Points

        Spoiler:- War Team Members:

    Lieutenant (Combusken) - 50 Points

        Spoiler:- War Team Members:

    Commander (Darmanitan) - 100 Points

        Spoiler:- War Team Members:

    Captain (Blaziken) - 200 Points

        Spoiler:- War Team Members:

    Admiral (Victini) - War Team Leader

        Spoiler:- War Team Members:

    The Captain Rank is a unique rank. The captain is the "second-in-command" of the war team, taking on the admiral's duties and responsibilities in the event the admiral is unable to do so. Similar to the Admiral Rank, there can only be one war team member with the Captain Rank, and the title goes to the first war team member to work their way up through the ranks and earn the position. Let this serve as a motivator to participate in guild and war team functions.

    In order to rise to the next rank, you must reach that rank’s point benchmark. There are several different ways in which you can earn war team points, which are listed below. The points do not reset upon ranking up. For example, if you are an officer with 23 points, and you earn 5 points, then you become an ensign with 28 points.
    *please note that all war team-related battles will be Smogon OU*

    Win a War Battle - 20 Points
    This method of obtaining points is fairly straightforward. We are a war team, we participate in war battles, and if you win said war team battle, you are awarded a hefty sum of war team points.

    Training Dojo Battle & Analysis - 3-5 Points

    In order to train up our war team members who are new to the competitive scene, the RoF war team possesses a training dojo. In this training dojo are 18 different “Dojo Masters” (all of them played by me, of course) who specialize in each of the 18 Pokémon types:

        Spoiler:- Dojo Masters:

    War team members are free to challenge any Dojo Master they choose. To challenge a Dojo Master, simply send me (WhyBuffet) a PM entitled "Training Dojo" with the following form filled out:

    Code:
    Username:
    War Team Rank:
    Friend Code / PS Username:
    Dojo Master you wish to challenge:
    Utilize this dojo to its fullest effect. For instance, if you have a team that you think struggles against a certain type, challenge that Dojo Master and see if your team truly does struggle against that type. Once you have had a battle with a Dojo Master, be sure to save the battle video. Then, post the battle video link (PS) or Battle Video code (wifi) in the guild, along with a short battle analysis (similar to the Weekly Battles Reports in the Competitive Corner). If you are a veteran competitive battler, explain in your analysis why you made the decisions you did in battle. If you are a greenhorn competitive battler, explain in your analysis what you would do differently in the future.
    *each battle analysis posted will earn the war team member 3 war team points (an additional 2 points will be added if the war team member won the battle)*

    Do not create teams that exist solely to counter any of the Dojo Master’s mono-type teams. This defeats the entire purpose of the training dojo. The penalty for creating “counter-teams” will be the loss of any war team points accrued through the training dojo, as well as a permanent ban from the training dojo. It is at the discretion of the Admiral as to whether or not your team is considered a “counter-team.”

    Defeat the Admiral in Battle (once a day): 7 Points
    During the week, you have the option of challenging the war team Admiral to a battle. If you successfully defeat the Admiral in battle, you will be awarded war team points.
    *please note that Admiral battles are wifi only*

    War Team Missions - ??? Points
    War team missions are special events that will occur occasionally within the war team (such as a in-house tournament or a war team contest). The points awarded from these missions will vary depending on the mission.

    War Team Application

    If you wish to apply to the war team, simply fill out the application below and post it to the guild. We will then set up a time for a test battle.
    In order to accommodate everyone, the test battle can occur on either PS or wifi, applicant's choice.
    Whether you win or lose the test battle, you will be accepted to the war team. I simply use the test battle to gauge how experienced you are at competitive battling.

    Code:
    Username:
    Division:
    Friend Code / PS Username:
    Timezone:
    Competitive Battle Experience Level? Novice/Veteran
    Preferred Battle Method? PS/wifi
    Would you be willing to battle in a method other than your preferred battle method, if necessary? Y/N
    Availability for testing:
    If you have any questions or concerns about the war team and its functions, feel free to contact me (WhyBuffet) via PM.
    Happy battling!

    Welcome to the Bank of Fire. Here you can find several Pokémon that were donated by the guild members. These Pokémon are available to being traded, given as prizes and even loaned to other members to help them breeding and collecting Pokémon.

    If you have a Pokémon you'd like to donate, fill the form below:

    Code:
    I would like to donate a Pokémon!

    After your Pokémon is accepted, I'll ask you to trade it to me, so I'll save all of the donations on a PokéBank box.

    You'll be rewarded with FPs for each donation according to the following:
    - Shiny 5/6IV Perfect: 30 FP
    - Shiny 4/5IV Imperfect: 20 FP
    - Regular 5/6IV Perfect: 5 FP
    - Regular 4/5IV Imperfect: 3 FP

    To prevent people from abusing the system to rank up, you can only donate a maximum of 3 Pokémon for FPs. You can still donate more but you won't get more FPs. Please fill one form per donation and avoid donating the same Pokémon twice. Check the list of donations before donating.

    TRADING

    If you have a Pokémon you want to donate, you may pick one of the Pokémon on the list to trade instead of receiving FPs. As long as the Pokémon have similar value, the trade will always be accepted.

    Code:

    LOANING SYSTEM

    The Bank of Fire is proud to announce that the donated Pokémon are available for loan. This means you can fill up the form below and get one or two of these Pokémon for a week to help you breed your own.

    There are a few rules though:

    1. Please give the Pokémon back as soon as you don't need it anymore. The limit for having a Pokémon is one week, so that other people can trade for it or borrow it too.

    2. Please avoid changing the Pokémon's egg moves. If you want a Lv1 Pokémon with 4 egg moves, level it up so that you won't lose any moves at the daycare.

    3. Join the sharing spirit. These Pokémon are donated to the guild and they're the guild's property. Respect other members and keep the shop running smoothly.

    4. You need to rank up at least once in order to borrow a Pokémon.

    Fill the form below to request a Pokémon:

    Welcome to the Ring of Fire Casual Corner! In this section we'll focus on overall ingame activities like runthroughs and shiny hunts. The idea is to take a break from the competitive scene and have some fun inside our guild. So enjoy!

    Introducing a new guild feature: The Pokémon Fact of the Day!
    This feature provides the guild with some fun and interesting Pokémon facts that competitive and casual players alike can enjoy!
    Every day, a new Pokémon factoid or piece of trivia will be posted in the guild.
    Look for the above banner posted throughout the guild each day to catch up on the latest Pokémon Fact of the Day.

    *Credit to Astral Shadow for the banner*

    In this feature, a simple phrase will be provided, with the ending of the phrase omitted. In order to help you discover the ending of the phrase, a series of questions will be provided. The question topics can range from the Pokémon anime to in-game details, characters, or events, and anything Pokémon related in between. Once you discover an answer to a question, fill the letters into the spaces provided. Several of the spaces are coloured red. The letters in these spaces make up the end of the phrase, but they are all scrambled. The first one to decipher the ending of the phrase using the letters from the clues will be declared the winner!

        Spoiler:- Example:

    Please PM WhyBuffet your answers, rather than posting them in the guild.
    This ensures that everyone gets a chance to guess without having the answer spoiled for them.

    Prizes

    The first person to PM WhyBuffet with the correct answer shall be awarded a prize for their efforts.
    The prizes can range from 5IV Pokémon to Hidden Ability Pokémon to battle items.

    So what are you waiting for? Wrack those brains and start answering!

    It's yet another guild feature... The Pokémon Caption Contest!

    In this feature, a picture will be posted in the guild under the above banner.
    The pictures will come from Super Smash Bros for Wii U, and will contain Pokémon themes (like Pokémon characters or taking place on Pokémon stages).

    All you have to do is come up with a caption for the picture, and you could win fabulous prizes!
    Any captions submitted will be evaluated on:

    ◊ Humour
    ◊ Creativity
    ◊ Cleverness

    Please PM any captions to WhyBuffet.
    The winners will be announced a few days after the picture is posted.

    Welcome to the Ring of Fire Smash Bros. League. Here you can engage in explosive matches against fellow Smashers.
    Rules:
    Game Settings: 3 Stocks, 8 Minute Time Limit, Best of 3 Games.
    Items are set to Off and None.
    All customization is banned.
    You may not choose any stage you have won on during a set, unless agreed by both players.
    A tie is determined by most stocks, and then if still tied, by percentage. If percentage is tied, the match is replayed with 1 Stock, 3 Minute Time Limit.
    Type "Falcon Punch" somewhere in your Sign-Up Form so I know you're read the rules.
    If a match is ended via suicide move, the initiator of the move wins, regardless of the results screen.
    Matches are arranged between players in VM, so that I can view them. I will look over these messages.
    Matches are reported back here on the main thread.
    Wins and losses will be recorded and added to your ranking.
    Winning a match will earn you 15 FP. Any others played on the same will not reward with more FP.
    Infractions of rules may result in auto-loss, nullification of match, or removal from the League. The punishment will depend on severity of the offense and how many offenses a member has.

    Match Procedure:
    Players each choose their own character.
    Players take turns removing stages from the Neutral Stages list above until one remains. The visitor (the person who joined the room) removes first.
    The players play the first match of the set.
    Players may choose to re-select characters.
    The loser of the last match chooses the stage to play on from the Full Stage List.
    The next match is played.
    Repeat Steps 4 to 6 until set is complete.

    Please Be Familiar With the Rules and Match Procedures Before Challenging Someone or Accepting a Challenge

    Accepted. I'll add you to the breeders list. Do you have any restriction regarding what you can breed? Can you PM me a list of the Pokémon you can breed? (or the Pokémon you can't if it's easier lol)

I play World of Warcraft and Skyrim relatively frequently as well, love jelly beans and I sincerely hope we can once again rebuild a name for ourselves.

    Oh, and if I get accepted:
    Username: snivy trainer
    Division: Dark Flames (hopefully)
    Experience: Damn... 2 years nearly of competitive? Start of BW anyway, so yeah. Plus I ran the War Team in THT (get rekt)
    Activity [time available to organize wars, direct the other team members and test new members]: Well my schedule isn't too bad so far, although I can see it decreasing during the summer months when I have school tests to revise for

    All right, let's go! Oh, and I prefer Zekrom to Reshiram btw.

    Accepted! Welcome About the war team I think you can have it as well since you have some experience on it.
    From now on those who apply to the war team must be tested by you. Feel free to send me some info you want added to the post as well as any change in the application form.

    PS: Zekrom sucks, look what it did to Kyurem! Even Smogon thinks Kyurem is much better with Reshiram

    I'd also like to remind everyone to take a look at the competitive corner It may be interesting for some of us.

    If anyone is ever up for a battle just PM me.
    I get really bored hanging around at home with nothing to do, so a well-fought battle is always welcome!

    I'm just talking Smogon OU battles at the moment.
    I have not yet made the leap into the VGC scene.

    It feels so odd to have to be accepted into a guild... an experience I haven't had for so many years. Lets keep it that way again shall we? I'm going to be building a UU team; it's a tier not many play (perhaps we should do a tournament on it once we've got more members) but I'd like to try out. Lots of powerful Pokemon. RU was another one but since it's going through suspect testing I'm staying away. I'd like to build around something new and exciting, such as a new Mega or something like Serperior or Emboar. In UU there're plenty of bulky Water types, so Serperior would work well here.

    Kingsnake (Serperior) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Contrary
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature (+Spe/-Atk)
    - Leaf Storm
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Hidden Power {Fire}
    - Giga Drain / Knock Off

    Simple wallbreaking + sweeping set for Serperior. 75/95/95 bulk is pretty spectacular coupled with such a wonderful 113 base Speed. Blastoise, Milotic, Sharpedo, Suicune, Starmie, Swampert and Vaporeon all fear this thing since once it comes in on them they're screwed. It's not a counter since it can be beaten by them, but it's a damn good check provided it switches in correctly. Therefore Pokemon who love bulky Water types gone will love Serperior. Crobat is a pain in the *** for Serperior to handle, as is any decently bulky Fire type like Chandelure, Arcanine and Rotom- H. Dragon types don't want to be hit by +2 Dragon Pulse but Goodra, Mega Ampharos and Noivern either have the bulk to take such hits or are immune to/4x resist Grass so need to be dealt with. Quite a lot to do, but not impossible.

    Luckily Crobat isn't too strong offensively and loses to most Steel types, as do many of the Dragon types. Bulky Water types beat Crobat and also defeat Fire types, so that's good. CB Crobat only just 3HKOes defensive Swampert, CroCune or Alomomola, my primary choices. Steel types are pretty much Mega Aggron, Jirachi, Doublade, Magneton and possibly Mawile (is it even viable?). Problem is that Noivern and Goodra 2HKO them all, which sucks. So it may be that I find a direct solution to my Dragon type issues with a Fairy type or something; Florges works alright as does Aromatisse. Could run Slurpuff for the lols. Who knows?
