    Default vs. viox (12/20/2009)

This battle took place on my birthday. After all the whole crazy "do everything you can do at 18" on this day, I decided to take a break. It was around 11 PM but I wasn't tired enough to sleep so I decided to battle someone. I didn't plan to be frustrated on my birthday but the Miltank on this team really did it. It was a fun battle so I had a great time with this guy. Comments in Bold Purple.

    elephantdog’s team:
    viox’s team:

    viox sent out Miltank.
    elephantdog sent out Donphan.

    vs.
    Donphan – 100%
    Miltank – 100%

It's hard to tell what this Miltank will do. Miltank has a very large movepool so sometimes you'll see things that you've never seen before. It's a great Pokemon. I'm going to assume that Miltank will use Stealth Rock, endangering two important members of my team.

    Donphan used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
    Miltank used Counter.
    But it failed!

    vs.
    Donphan – 100%
    Miltank – 100%

That's strange...normally when you see a Donphan lead, he's not going to be attacking. This Miltank is very suspicious. She's probably going to switch out onto a Flying-type, hoping that I use Earthquake.

    Donphan used Ice Shard.
Miltank lost 5% of its health.
    Miltank used Counter.
Donphan lost 9% of its health.
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 5% of its health.
Donphan's leftovers restored its health a little!
Donphan restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Donphan – 97%
    Miltank – 100%

This is strange. Is this Miltank scarfed?

    elephantdog switched in Honchkrow.
    Miltank used Counter.
    But it failed!

    vs.
    Honchkrow – 100%
    Miltank – 100%

Honchkrow can probably pull off a OHKO with Superpower. If it doesn't this is a suicide leap.

    Miltank used Protect.
    Miltank protected itself!
    Honchkrow used Superpower.
    Miltank protected itself!

    vs.
    Honchkrow – 100%
    Miltank – 100%

This Miltank is going to be a frustrating one. I guess it's time to sap some of this cow's health.

    elephantdog switched in Meganium.
    Miltank used Counter.
    But it failed!

    vs.
    Meganium – 100%
    Miltank – 100%

Weird Miltank. Normally, they'd be carrying annoying moves like ThunderWave.

    Miltank used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
    Meganium used Leech Seed.
    Miltank was seeded!
Miltank's health was sapped by leech seed!
Miltank lost 12% of its health.
    Meganium regained health!

    vs.
    Meganium – 100%
    Miltank – 88% (Seeded)

Those stones are going to be dangerous to Honchkrow...

    viox switched in Ambipom.
    Pointed stones dug into Ambipom.
Ambipom lost 12% of its health.
    Meganium used Ancientpower.
Ambipom lost 18% of its health.

    vs.
    Meganium – 100%
    Ambipom – 70%

Ancient Power is an interesting move. It's not very powerful but it has a strange side-effect and it can attack many of Meganium's type weaknesses. Meganium has an 80 base speed so it's not too bad.

    Ambipom used Fake Out.
Meganium lost 29% of its health.
    Meganium flinched!

    vs.
    Meganium – 71%
    Ambipom – 70%

Kinda expected that...I don't have any Pokemon that resists Normal so there's no point on switching. Meganium's Defense is pretty sweet.

    Ambipom used Fire Punch.
    It's super effective!
Meganium lost 49% of its health.
    Meganium used Giga Drain.
Ambipom lost 45% of its health.
    Meganium absorbed health!
Meganium restored 23% of its health.

    vs.
    Meganium – 45%
    Ambipom – 25%

This Meganium holds a Big Root and is much more potent on double battles, using Leech Seed on two Pokemon at once. If I can predict correctly, Ambipom will outrun Meganium so it would use Fire Punch again. Perfect moment for a switch?

    elephantdog switched in Rapidash.
    Pointed stones dug into Rapidash.
Rapidash lost 25% of its health.
    Ambipom used Fire Punch.
Rapidash's Flash Fire raised its fire power!

    vs.
    Rapidash – 75%
    Ambipom – 43%

Bingo! I don't want to lose too much HP killing an Ambipom that's almost fainted so...

    Rapidash used Frustration.
Ambipom lost 24% of its health.
    viox's Ambipom fainted.
Rapidash lost 10% of its health.

    vs.
    Rapidash – 65%
    Ambipom – FAINT

Yes. That is Frustration. My real Rapidash has Frustration also. People say that they just use Return because it's much easier. In a way, that's true because your Pokemon's happiness would max out by lv100 but making the Pokemon hate you is easier and quicker. I give it a Toxic Orb, battle a trainer that uses more than one Pokemon, and walk around feeding it (every 5 steps) that one powder that recovers 200 HP and makes your Pokemon's happiness drops. I prefer Frustration over Return because it looks so much better. Return in PBR is cute but Frustration is like fireworks. Anyways...on with the battle.

    viox switched in Electrode.
    Pointed stones dug into Electrode.
Electrode lost 12% of its health.
    elephantdog switched in Donphan.
    Pointed stones dug into Donphan.
Donphan lost 6% of its health.
    Electrode used Explosion.
Donphan lost 68% of its health.
    viox's Electrode fainted.
Donphan's leftovers restored its health a little!
Donphan restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Donphan – 29%
    Electrode – FAINT

I switched in Donphan because I saw that Explosion coming. He saw my Rapidash as a threat so he wanted it eliminate it immediately. No way Rapidash can outrun Electrode and use the Flash Fire-boosted Flare Blitz.

    viox switched in Alakazam.
    Pointed stones dug into Alakazam.
Alakazam lost 12% of its health.
    Donphan used Ice Shard.
Alakazam lost 38% of its health.
    Alakazam used Psychic.
Donphan lost 29% of its health.
    elephantdog's Donphan fainted.

    vs.
    Donphan – FAINT
    Alakazam – 50%

Donphan can't last much longer. The only Pokemon on my team that can resist Alakazam's Psychic is Espeon but he's too important to risk injury. Ice Shard is Donphan's last strike of the match. Even though it's weak, Alakazam is extremely frail.

    elephantdog switched in Honchkrow.
    Pointed stones dug into Honchkrow.
Honchkrow lost 25% of its health.
    viox switched in Miltank.
    Pointed stones dug into Miltank.
Miltank lost 12% of its health.
    Honchkrow used Sucker Punch.
    But it failed!
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Honchkrow – 75%
    Miltank – 82%

=T I was hoping Alakazam stays and tries to attack. Honchkrow is not going to be anything more than a suicide bomber with Stealth Rock around so this is his final show. Hopefully Miltank falls to him.

    Miltank used Protect.
    Miltank protected itself!
    Honchkrow used Sucker Punch.
    Miltank protected itself!
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Honchkrow – 75%
    Miltank – 88%

    Honchkrow used Sucker Punch.
Miltank lost 48% of its health.
    Miltank used Counter.
Honchkrow lost 75% of its health.
    elephantdog's Honchkrow fainted.
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Honchkrow – FAINT
    Miltank – 46%

Well...Miltank is quite injured so Honchkrow's fainting isn't for granted.

    elephantdog switched in Meganium.
    Pointed stones dug into Meganium.
Meganium lost 12% of its health.
    Miltank used Protect.
    Miltank protected itself!
    Meganium used Leech Seed.
    Miltank protected itself!
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Meganium – 33%
    Miltank – 52%

    Miltank used Milk Drink.
Miltank restored 49% of its health.
    Meganium used Leech Seed.
    Miltank was seeded!
Miltank's health was sapped by leech seed!
Miltank lost 12% of its health.
    Meganium regained health!
Meganium restored 11% of its health.

    vs.
    Meganium – 44%
    Miltank – 88% (Seeded)

    Oh wow...bad Miltank! Bad Miltank!

    viox switched in Typhlosion.
    Pointed stones dug into Typhlosion.
Typhlosion lost 25% of its health.
    Meganium used Giga Drain.
    It's not very effective...
Typhlosion lost 12% of its health.
    Meganium absorbed health!
Meganium restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Meganium – 50%
    Typhlosion – 63%

Hmm...I don't know much about Typhlosion. His defenses must be bad for Giga Drain to do 25%. What I do know is that he's quite fast. I don't want to switch in Lanturn, risking injury that could change the outcome in viox's favor.

    Typhlosion used Flamethrower.
    It's super effective!
Meganium lost 51% of its health.
    elephantdog's Meganium fainted.

    vs.

    Meganium – FAINT
    Typhlosion – 63%

Now, it's time to switch in Lanturn. If you noticed some of the Pokemon's pictures look kinda weird. His team is more photogenic than mine. When you see Espeon...she's not photogenic at all. Let's stick to that.

    elephantdog switched in Lanturn.
    Pointed stones dug into Lanturn.
Lanturn lost 12% of its health.
    Typhlosion used Hidden Power.
    It's super effective!
Lanturn lost 51% of its health.
    Lanturn used Thunder Wave.
Typhlosion is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
Lanturn's leftovers restored its health a little!
Lanturn restored 6% of its health.

    vs.

    Lanturn – 43%
    Typhlosion – 63% (Paralyzed)

I could probably take him out with Surf right away but he could have switched out so ThunderWave would cripple what comes in. I'm pretty sure that Hidden Power is Grass. Grass covers all of a pure Fire-type's weaknesses.

    Lanturn used Surf.
    It's super effective!
Typhlosion lost 63% of its health.
    viox's Typhlosion fainted.
Lanturn's leftovers restored its health a little!
Lanturn restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Lanturn – 49%
    Typhlosion – FAINT

    Yup. ThunderWave rocks!

    viox switched in Alakazam.
    Pointed stones dug into Alakazam.
Alakazam lost 12% of its health.
    Alakazam used Psychic.
Lanturn lost 49% of its health.
    elephantdog's Lanturn fainted.

    vs.
    Lanturn – FAINT
    Alakazam – 38%

=T That did much more than I thought. That could only mean one thing: Alakazam is Choice Specs-ed. Espeon can outrun him. Alakazam's Special Defense is almost as frail as his Defense so Espeon can OHKO him.

    elephantdog switched in Espeon.
    Pointed stones dug into Espeon.
Espeon lost 12% of its health.
    Espeon used Shadow Ball.
    It's super effective!
Alakazam lost 37% of its health.
    viox's Alakazam fainted.

    vs.
    Espeon – 88%
    Alakazam – FAINT

There ya go, kiddos. Espeon beats Alakazam yet again. Alakazam's Speed is 10 higher than Espeon's and his Special Attack is only 5 higher. I personally prefer Espeon because it can actually take a hit or two and its Speed and Special Attack aren't much lower. Almost forgot. Look at Espeon's picture. Isn't that so ugly? Espeon is cute but that picture...-shivers-

    viox switched in Scyther.
    Pointed stones dug into Scyther.
Scyther lost 50% of its health.
    Espeon used Shadow Ball.
Scyther lost 50% of its health.
    viox's Scyther fainted.

    vs.
    Espeon – 88%
    Scyther – FAINT

Something needs to be done with Stealth Rock. One switch-in and Scyther starts off with half his health. I'd like to see more of this guy. You don't see many Scythers around.

    viox switched in Miltank.
    Pointed stones dug into Miltank.
Miltank lost 12% of its health.
    elephantdog switched in Rapidash.
    Pointed stones dug into Rapidash.
Rapidash lost 25% of its health.
    Miltank used Protect.
    Miltank protected itself!
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Rapidash – 40%
    Miltank – 82%

Espeon is Choice Scarfed so Shadow Ball isn't much use on Miltank.

    Rapidash used Flare Blitz.
Miltank lost 26% of its health.
    Rapidash was hit by recoil!
Rapidash lost 10% of its health.
Rapidash lost 10% of its health.
    Miltank used Milk Drink.
Miltank restored 45% of its health.

    vs.
    Rapidash – 20%
    Miltank – 100%

    Miltank used Protect.
    Miltank protected itself!
    Rapidash used Flare Blitz.
    Miltank protected itself!

    vs.
    Rapidash – 20%
    Miltank – 100%

You gotta hate Miltank and Thick Fat...Scrappy is useful in its own way. It allows you to use Seismic Toss on them Ghosts.

    Rapidash used Flare Blitz.
Miltank lost 27% of its health.
    Rapidash was hit by recoil!
Rapidash lost 11% of its health.
Rapidash lost 9% of its health.
    elephantdog's Rapidash fainted.
    Miltank used Milk Drink.
Miltank restored 27% of its health.

    vs.
    Rapidash – FAINT
    Miltank – 100%

Rapidash's usage was a bit of a waste there. This is the moment. 1-1 Miltank vs. Espeon.

    elephantdog switched in Espeon.
    Pointed stones dug into Espeon.
Espeon lost 12% of its health.
    Espeon used Psychic.
Miltank lost 99% of its health.
    Miltank used Counter.
    But it failed!
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Espeon – 76%
    Miltank – 7%

Why would you use Counter on a Special Attacker? I guess Miltank has no attacks. After Rapidash's minuscule 10% damage hits on Miltank, that 99% is a sight for sore eyes.

    Miltank used Protect.
    Miltank protected itself!
    Espeon used Psychic.
    Miltank protected itself!
Miltank's leftovers restored its health a little!
Miltank restored 6% of its health.

    vs.
    Espeon – 76%
    Miltank – 13%

This guy is stalling to stay in the match as long as he can. I respect this guy. Most people would leave.

    Espeon used Psychic.
Miltank lost 13% of its health.
    viox's Miltank fainted.

    vs.
    Espeon – 76%
    Miltank – FAINT

...and that's my birthday battle versus the annoying Miltank.

    Results:
    elephantdog – 1
    viox – 0

This battle took place in the OU ladder even though we both used UUs (Honchkrow was a UU then). I haven't used this team ever since. It's my main team and all but I wanted something fresh. Ever since this battle, I've been using my best friend's team (the one with Girafarig). Things to mention: Espeon did a good job, taking out the biggest threat on that team and rival Pokemon Alakazam. Even though Miltank was the biggest threat on that team, I expected more from it. I was looking forward to it crippling my team with ThunderWave. Honchkrow didn't do too well during this battle but his Typhlosion was definitely something new. You don't see those every day. Doing close to 50% damage to Lanturn with HP Grass showed how powerful that guy is.

Omg miltank >.> hate it. That thing beat my pert 1 on 1. of course it has milk drink and all, but...
And that's strange that not only did it not have twave bit its only attack is counter.
His moves are SR, protect, counter, milk drink...hmm...plus miltank does have the bulk that players rely on endgame should they have no other options, so it seems like a bad idea for a set.

I do not listen to rap, hip hop, pop, or anything along the lines of that because 99% of it is not real music. However, do NOT pm me concerning my sig necause I don't care. But you can copy and paste this into your sig if you agree. ... started by CreepacisT? Meh, I doubt anyone will copy and paste it, anyways.

I respect you both for this battle. 6/12 fighters were johto, which means you guys have good taste, none were ubers, which means you guys have super good taste, and none of them were pseudolegends, which means this battle was epic.

Although earlier you said "Is this miltank scarfed?" which is impossble. You forgot to take into account that miltank had leftovers.

Thank You! ...and that comment about Miltank was kinda a sarcastic comment (not sarcastic. I can't find a word to describe it). It's because the Miltank keeps using the move as if it was Choiced. I never use Hoenn Pokemon. It's not like I avoid them. I just don't like them enough to even consider them.

Miltank is always annoying. Still, interesting set. It worked though.
Start playing ubers, not OU. Serebii needs more ubers players!

Yeah, interesting battle, still wondering what he was thinking with that Miltank. Protecting and then Countering? What the hell...
