    Few pics from the episode,

    Notes:-
    - It seems that because Dawn was made fun of her looks after the shock from Plusle & Minun she fears them.
    - Jessie also takes part in this contest with Seviper & Carnivine (she alo uses a "Arbok" flute in this episode, she uses it like a snake charmer uses his flute).
    - Dawn, Jessie & Ursula make it to the next round.

Oh, god, another $&%#ing "Gouge-your-eyes" fest... still, there's something to look forward to, & for a world's first, I'll be including a pic from this episode inside my summary!

    Off we go!

    - We've finally arrived at Daybreak Town, just in time for yet another "Gouge-your-eyes" fest. Dawn is getting some last-minute training going on, when all of a sudden...
    - Look! It's Ursula, everybody's favorite punk #&^ @$#%^!
    - Turns out, she's also going out for her final ribbon, & to help her with this double performance, she's packing a Plusle & Minun. A generic duo? Absolutely! Not to mention that it's so predictable, & easily countered by a Pokemon with Lightning Rod.
    - Upon seeing her Plusle & Minun, Dawn starts having a hell of a panic attack, but over what??
    - Ursula teases Dawn by having her Plusle & Minun perform on her, which ends in them shocking her head & screwing up her hair in more ways than one.
    - Dawn flees the public eye, as she's too embarrassed over what Ursula has done to her hair. The rest of the gang follow suit, & as soon as everything's back to normal, they ask her what's the deal.
    - Her Plusle & Minun problems date waaay back to her Kindergarten days, in which she & her classmates had to take care of some Pokemon that are in the play pen.
    - Inside that play pen are a Plusle & Minun, which are potential hazards, especially for little children. What they could end up doing is send someone's heart into an arrhythmia, shock someone's body into total paralysis, or even worse, they could end up frying someone's limbs, thus turning them into crispy critters, thus rendering them useless & chances are, that they'll end up getting amputated. *sigh* $%#$ it, I'm rambling - I've been watching the Discovery Health Channel a little too much...
    - Upon seeing the Plusle & Minun, little Dawn's instincts are not unlike this, "Aww! A cute little Plusle & Minun! I'm going to hug you & squeeze you & call you two George!"
    - She does exactly that to those two, but seeing as to how these two don't like any of these (& who can blame them?) they end up giving her a shock of her life, which turns her skull into a smoking heap. ...Okay, not really... what actually happened is that it screwed her hair up in exactly the way that we've seen earlier, & this time, she's completely oblivious to what they've done.
    - Once they head back to class, Dawn's classmates make fun of her ruined hair, which they start calling it the "Diamond Dandruff" style. That eventually leads to them calling her Dee Dee. Ring a bell? If you people were paying attention to Dawn's past, it should.
    - Upon realizing what had happened, little Dawn starts crying...

    Like a wee baby!!!
    - Ahem! Okay, that's enough horseplay for now; we've got a "Gouge-your-eyes" fest to attend here!
    - Our first runner up is... Jesselina! She at first starts off with only "her" Carnivine. However, she also has an Arbok flute on her. Why? Well, Carnivine has another Pokeball in his mouth, & upon playing her flute, her Seviper comes out. & thus, her act of snake charming somehow awes the crowd & the judges, & it doesn't get her unked.
    - We fast forward over to Dawn's appeal, in which she uses Piplup's Bubblebeam, & her Buneary's Ice Beam, which freezes the bubbles in midair. Buneary then uses Bounce to land on each of the frozen bubbles as if they're stepping stones.
    - For her finale, she has Buneary use Dizzy Punch & Piplup's spinning Peck to burst those bubbles, & thus creating a shower of glitter.
    - Lastly, we again fast forward to Ursula's appeal, which has her using Gabite & Jigglypuff?! Get your soundproof earmuffs on, NOW!!
    - Her appeal is having her Jigglypuff curl up into a ball via Rollout, & having Gabite fool around with it on her shoulders. I didn't quite get the rest of this, but it was most definitely neat.
    - The result? Dawn, Ursula, &, against all odds, Jesselina, make it to the the contest war-zone, among five other unimportant people.
    - In the waiting room, Dawn & Ursula lock eyes with each other, but once her Plusle & Minun pop up, Dawn panics once more. This is going to go really well...

That's wonderful... Dawn has a pet peeve of Plusle & Minun, & Ursula has both of them? If Dawn can't get her act together now, she's lost the fight before it has even begun! & like Jupiter has said, she needs a Psych consult for her problem... yesterday!

Dawn recalled Piplup. The moment was so precious they milked it.

FFFFF Jessie's appeal was awesome. She used Carnivine and Seviper.

Dawn did an Bubble + Ice Appeal. Piplup wasn't actually seen for most of the Appeal.

Ursula appealed with Gabite and Jigglypuff as expected. Today I had problems with my sound so I couldn't hear any of the attack commands. I'm not confident enough to say what attacks I think her Pokemon used without hearing it for myself so I'll skip it this week.

    Jigglypuff's seal was cute.

Great episode, I'm happy that Jessie participated in the contest.

Dawn's appeal was nice, Buneary and Piplup did a great work.

SEVIPER WAS RELEASED FROM INSIDE CARNIVINES MOUTH!

That was friggin awesome. For a second I thought they were gonna have jessie act a fool and forget this was a double performance but man. That was something. lol. Though the music coulda been a little more snake charming-ish when jessie plays the flute. I think it's one of the track that plays in movie 10...

Dawns appeal was lame, imo. Freezing bubbles to have them later be destroyed to make sparkles by Buneary and Piplup. And not only that, but it looks like Buneary learned Drill peck! lol. At least thats what it looks like. And I don't think piplup learned drill peck either. Dawn called out the same attack she always does.

Ursula's appeal was cool too. She had gabite juggle Jigglypuff. Made sparkles with Gabites stone edge crashing into jigglypuff's Hyper Voice and then had jigglypuff make a SHINE with its gyro ball grating against the the ground that gabite used sand tomb on. Fun stuff.

This episode was a basic contest episode, nothing too special but it's good we got to see thorough appeals. And yeah, Pikari was explained. Something about pika pika, which im guessing is like static.

I actually liked Jessie's appeal the most, but that might only be because I don't expect Jessie to be as good as she was.

I actually watched this episode just now and the appeal round was boring as ever, except for maybe Ursula's Gabite and Jigglypuff basketball bit. What made the episode for me was Plusle and Minun frequently bothering Dawn. Every time she was doing something dramatic for her contest the 2 would ruin it for her and she'd freak out, which was surprisingly amusing for me. I especially like the end when Ursula and Dawn are facing off with that dramatic 'It's battle time' music only to have Plusle and Minun ruin it again. Overall I was amused. Good funny way to start a two part contest.

Most main characters appeal's are the same. If the audience loves seeing generic ice appeal's then hey 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' I guess. After failing two appeal rounds I think Dawn is afraid to think outside the box. Though I do hope Dawn gets over her fear of the dreaded Plusle and Minun, it's funny now but can get stale like Gible did.

I liked Dawn's appeal a lot. Loved Buneary, she looked so adorable bouncing on the bubbles. I actually liked her appeal more than Jesse's. Ursula's was the best one.

FINALLY! It's been a while since Buneary showed she liked Pikachu. I loved it.

It's been a while since Buneary actually appeared, to be honest.

Also, Piplup being withdrawn...scenes like this come round only once in a character's lifetime.

Buneary has been out of action a lot lately :/

It's probably because of Cyndaquil and Mamoswine being so important at the moment. Glad she got some time in this episode. At least in the appeal round, it got to show some of it's bouncing moves.

Dawn was kinda bad. I mean the first time i watched it I thought Jessie had the best. Jessie actually did something(flute) with a snake and carnivorous plant. And whats up with Ursula? In her mind:
Ball+Ferocious crazy Dragon= Amazing performance? All SHE did was tell Gabite and Jigglypuff what to do!
Jessie owned Dawn and Ursula. Jumping on ice bubbles? On a scale of 1-10
    Dawn -2
    Ursula 3
    Jessie 7(she's good in comperison)

Dawn's plan-Penguin blow bubbles. Bunny freeze bubbles and then jump on bubbles.Penguin and Bunny jump and pop bubbles.

Usually, I don't reply to these threads until I have actually seen the episode, but maybe I'll start a new trend.

by looking at the pictures from this episode it looks like it's going to be one of the, at least to me, more exciting contest episodes.

And, holy moly! I was thinking to myself "that would be funny if that Ursula girl came back in the final contes before the Grand Festival...", and she is here! Awesome! Even though she's kind of...not nice toward Dawn, I kind of like her character. Looks like she still has her Gabite. Let's see if she gets a Garchomp before she makes it to the Grand Festival. If she makes it to the Grand Festival. Urusula's...second round appeal? (is that what it's called? I forget) looks like it's going to be pretty cool-looking when I finally see it in motion. What Gabite does with Jigglypuff is going to look pretty epic.

Well, I'll try to come back when I have actually seen the episode.

    OMG IT'S AN ARBOK FLUTE!

Quite a good episode. Jessie's performance was the best.

So we arrive in Asatsuki Town and Ursula and her Minun and Plusle appear. We get a flashback to Dawn's preschool days too. I loved to see her female friend and Kenny, they were all so cute.

I didn't think Plusle and Minun, two cute Pokemon would have caused Dawn so much anxiety. Now I know why Dawn is so careful with her hair; she hates static.

As for the Contest, Jessie was ok but Ursula and Gabites' Jigglypuff routine was by far the coolest. At least Dawn makes it to round 2. 9/10

Is there any chance Jessie will win this?
Not a chance. She and her Pokemon looked distressed at one point in the preview. I assume it's because she was facing Ursula and got to see her 'Special Technique' first.

Also, Piplup being withdrawn...scenes like this come round only once in a character's lifetime.
I think even the writers realize what a monster they created in Piplup at this point. It seemed kind of deliberate that they actually showed every motion of recalling Piplup and putting the seal on Piplup's ball. It was kind of like saying " Enjoy this. You will not be seeing this again until the Grand Festival. " The Appeal mostly focused on Buneary too which was welcome. It feels like Buneary hasn't been in a Contest in a long time ...

Zoey and Candice have been spending an awful lot of time together. I think the writers are strongly implying the first lesbian couple in Pokemon.

No I think you are wrong. Zoey just loves to be with her friend Candice. it's her right to see the contest on television with her, I don't see a problem with this.

It all started with Gible abuse... about time.

Or Pachirisu for that matter. Or, I could have easily skipped over a good 20 episodes...

Well, this outta be something. But I really do see Dawn winning this. I find it interesting how she's battling Ursula as opposed to Zoey. But... I think it's be cause they're saving that for the Grand Festival. Ursula is sort of the female version of Harley, to some extent. Especially considering May's last contest before the GF was against him.

Don't worry your not the only one, i keep wanting to say that too.

I thought this was a great contest episode. Of course they did have extra time to show everyone's appeals since it is a two parter. They do that from now on in my opinion instead of cramming some contests into one episode. I had been seeing all these comments on how great jessie's appeal was and now that i saw it i would say i'm impressed too. Can't wait till next week episode i kinda hope that dawn beats ursula but loses to jessie so jessie can win the ribbon.
