Default What does the @ stand for on PBR Wifi?

I pretty much only battle Japenese trainers online and they all seem to have @ in their name somewhere, even some English people I've battled have @ in their name and I was wondering what this actually stands for?

Pretty much just means they're recording. I got that info from a few YouTube members- one of whom lives in Japan.

    Wow, really?
I find that hard to believe seeing as almost every battler has @ in their name...
You have backed it up though, so it seems fine, thanks.

Aww man, that's what that means? I've battled so many of those people, like hundreds! My worst defeats posted on the internet, I can't believe it. I can only imagine the horrible things they were saying to the camera about my battle style and strategy. I'm oh so embarrassed!

I wouldn't. It seems to be a trademark for the Japanese and I've heard it that they are uploading to a certain site, I doubt youtube is that site. You could however with the other PBR youtubers make some kind of symbol together so everyone knows you're recording.

Are you sure? That seems pretty strange since litterly more than 90% of the people I have ever battled have an "@" in their name.

I actually agree with you on that. I face the same thing. I actually though i would be able to be contacted by any japanese person, but its highly unlikely (cause probably alot of them dont have english as their second language)

Maybe because they are the 90% of the players on PBR wi-fi.

The Japanese players, especially the ones with @ in their names are really tough! I like battling them because their strategies are so smart. They're worth more "experince" so to speak, like the Elite Four of PBR. They either sweep me or push me to the edge everytime! Seriously, I nearly go into cardiac arrest after every fight with one of them!

We're talking about Japanese people here.

Yeah, the @ doesn't make them good, but for the most part Japanese players are much better than Americans. Don't know about Europe as much because I play at night.

Whatever! Those guys are really good! They're defiantly stronger then most people with English names that I fight. I play at night too which is when a lot of the really good people come out. I still win most of my matches but some of their strategies really surprise me. Like really elaborate things. Not like Protect + Explosion or Choice Scarf Kyogre and Fake Out or something.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. They're probably VGC players

I agree about them being better. BUt we still have alot of really good American players on youtube. I'm one of them but i have lost to alot of powerful Japanese players lately.

For sure! They're are defiantly strong American players, like me for instance, if I do say so myself and you sound pretty confident so you're probably really strong yourself. Just a lot of those Japanese players really go out for blood.

That's actually surprising and useful to know.

I rarely battle upon PBR, but now I know to scan the internet for my battles if there is an @ symbol. ;D

True, but it's mainly the Japanese who record and I doubt they upload to Youtube, and if they do, it'll be in Japanese...
I think they'll have some special site though.
Plus with the amout of them, it'll be hard to find a certain one.
