I'm thinking of ordering 3DS or pre-ordering 3DS XL

Do you think that paying 50-60€ (about 61-73$) is worth it just to get bigger screens, and improved qualities and desing?
Been troubled about this a few days, so I would like some opinions?

If you plan on using it for Streetpass, I would recommend the 3DS although the better battery life and bigger screen could be beneficial and worth the extra money.

Hmm, well I'm not planning to use it for Streetpass I don't think many people in my town get that kinda stuff, so I will probably buy 3DS XL
It's just so annoying to order the charger separately

I have a 3ds and I still don't like the screens. I've had it for almost a year.

The screen size is annoying. That's why I still use my DSi.

I'm thinking of getting the 3ds XL when it comes out.

The screens are the same size as your DSi, with the exception of the top which is obviously wider.

But you can't use your DSi to play 3DS games, and DS games use the same screen size on the 3DS as the DSi, so..

I know and I also would have liked for the top screen to be the same size as the bottom screen.

But you can't use your DSi to play 3DS games, and DS games use the same screen size on the 3DS as the DSi, so..

That's why I use my 3DS to play 3DS games and I use the DSi to play DS games.

Certain DSi games are better played on the D-Pad than the circle pad, and the 3DS D-pad is just in a more uncomfortable position. Have you tried drifting in Mario Kart DS on a 3DS? It's nigh-impossible with the circle pad to get the boosts and it gets painful after a while to use the D-pad, especially because when you're constantly using the L trigger for items.

Anyone know if Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is worth it? I'm picking up a 3DS and besides the obvious purchases like Mario, i'm looking into games. I'm a fan of Resident Evil and probably will get Revelations for the story at some point, but is Mercenaries 3D literally only the Mercenaries game mode from 4/5?

I don't think you realize that this argument was about the screen size, not the D-Pad.

If you don't own a 3DS/DSi/DSiXL then you would be better off buying a 3DS since it's cheaper and comes with a charger.

Sure you lose the 1.5 extra battery power and the bigger screen but at the same time you get more with the 3DS.

No it isn't

You would be better off buying Resident Evil 4 and playing Mercenaries mode in there, since Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is Capcom lame attempt to rip you off.

That doesn't really have to do with the the screen being a different size. They could have used any sized panel they wanted, but they chose to finally move to widescreen.

Obviously, had they used a smaller screen, 3D images would have looked even worse than they already do, but it was still an option.
