It's more the principle that not only is it being sold as incomplete, which goes against British consumer law, but we're also getting overcharged for it because NoE refuses to set prices.

Not really, unless you get really lucky.

Yeah, the RRP of games in the UK are much more than those of NA.

I'd go for the 3DS over the XL, unless you need the bigger screens for something specific, like drawing or whatever.

As for recommendation, the Mario games and Mario Kart are always good. I also got Sonic Generations and Pokemon Rumble Blast around the time I got mine, both are pretty good. If you're into RPGs, Tales is a decent port if you haven't played the original and I've heard good things about SMT: Overclocked (if you can actually find a copy). OoT is worth picking up if you're one of the five people who has never played the original version.

Only get Sonic Generations game if you don't have the 360/PS3 version as the 3DS version is inferior compare to them.

Mario Kart 7, STM: DS: Overclocked (if you live in America or can wait for it to come over to Europe from Ghostlight), Kid Icarus: Uprising, Threatrhythm: Final Fantasy, Tales of the Abyss, Rhythm Thief, Super Mario 3D Land, Pushmo, any available Virtual Console games on the eShop, and any of the N64 games' remakes that you didn't play before.

BTW, Rumble Blast is pretty decent (if you played the WiiWare version to get some sort of decisive idea), but I feel like your time would be well spent on a mainline Pokemon game...or Pokemon Conquest.

Wow people are trashing on the 3DS XL when it is superior to the 3DS for the most part. Sure it sucks not having a charger with the thing in certain areas a but the bigger screen is worth it imo.

    This video proves it

I'll see if I can get a really good deal to trade in my 3DS for the XL. The small screen for the 3DS is killing me, especially when I play my PSP and switch to the smaller 3DS. >.<^

If only there were some good games to be released on the console like the Wii U. I mean, things like Pikmin 3? That's Nintendo gaming gold and there should be more content like this on the Nintendo 3DS. And now they're focusing their working power on the 3DSXL. What? Why? Make the games your focal point before you make another useless system.

I disagree. They only share one level theme and a plot, so levelwise they're two entirely different games. I do agree the console version is superior to the 3DS version, but that's like saying you shouldn't get the DS Version of New Super Mario Bros. because the Wii version is superior.

Newbie, we'd like to hear the part where it says they're going to focus totally on the 3DS XL, according to your claim.

Yet the two games you mentioned play the same but with their own game mechanics. Also, there's an age gap in there.

Actually, you shouldn't get the Wii version of NSMB because the DS one is far superior.

And the New Super Mario Bros. games don't? Wii version multiplayer aside, the only difference they have is one having the SMB3 powerup storage system and one having the SMW powerup storage system.

I am sorry but having a bigger screen, especially when the games aren't built with it in mind, with a 1.5 extra battery power isn't a reason to buy a 3DSXL. Especially when's a cheaper alternative model on the market.

Having to buy a charger separately doesn't help either.

But hey if some people want to buy it then fine it's their money, but I still think buying or sticking with your 3DS is the better option.

They didn't even bother giving it a second Circle Pad. There's very, very little point in purchasing a 3DS XL if one already owns a 3DS.

The XL will get an increased battery down the line somewhere so I'm not worried about that.

You saw the video I linked right? The XL's screen doesn't blur the graphics just cause its bigger than the 3DS's screen for Mario Kart 7. Whose to say that games can't support both the small and larger 3DS?

The main reason I want the XL is for the increased view. The 3DS's small screen strains my eyes sometimes and honestly IMO sucks compared to the old PSP's screen.

The thing I hate most is the missing 2nd stick but I'll live with it. HMV released an image of a 3DS XL with a 2nd stick and I can't help but think it actually made sense and Nintendo is being way too cheap. Its not like the XL is meant to be portable in pocket form.

Yes it does. Just because you can't notice doesn't mean it's not happening. The 3DS XL has the exact same resolution stretched over a larger surface area, it is not as clear, fact.

That was a photoshop someone did as soon as the 3DS XL was announced, as you can see it's a regular 3DS with a stick slapped on it. HMV is full retard and put it on display in their store.
