Kanto or Hoenn.

I love Hoenn!~ The storyline was awesome as well as the Pokemon, plus, Ruby was my first Pokemon game :P

Definitely Kanto for me. Hoenn has too many water routes (which most people seem to like) and I didn't like the fact that you have to go all over the place like the way you have to go back to Petalburg after the fourth badge then go east of Mauville for the sixth gym.

Hoenn. Kanto may have been "the original region", but it was also the most bland, and just wasn't all that great imo. Hoenn had the best region (appearance-wise), and I personally loved the water routes. Pretty much every town/city had unique looks (like Pacifidlog Town, and Mossdeep City), and the Pokemon designs were definitely the best so far. Besides, I started with the Hoenn region (sorry for not being a part of the "Kanto group" >.>) and I have fond memories of it. <3

I hate Hoenn! Well hate's a stong word; I dislike it. It's definitely my least favourite region, what with the water routes, having to Dive a lot, boring cities and gyms- urgh. It has to be Kanto from those two.

I would probably choose Kanto, not as many Water routes... Plus you need 3 water type HMs in Hoenn, which I need to have a slave on my team for those.

I love the Hoenn region because of the sea. That's what makes it unique. The introduction to tag battles was a nice touch though.

Kanto is still good. Travelling back to when I started playing it.

plot makes Hoenn better.

I pick Kanto.

I always seem to prefer the originals of everything. Kanto's elite 4 and gym leaders always seem like more of a challenge to me... Hoenn is alot easier and I always find that I clear it quicker. Though I will admit the graphics and all that has improved in the newer games, Kanto is my favorite.

I think Hoenn's better. I was more excited to explore areas in Hoenn rather than in FireRed's Kanto. The environments were more diverse and the Gym Battles were more challenging. Plus, nothing beats the Hoenn Battle Frontier. Nothing.

I like Hoenn better - both the region and the dex, and both in the same way - they're just more interesting to me. I've been over Kanto so many times and built teams out of that dex so many times that there's just no novelty left. Hoenn's just a more interesting place to travel around and there are more decent (if not necessarily great) pokes to choose from. And there's a lot more variety in wild battles. Sure - there are lots of zigzagoons and poochyenas, but there are so many other things, and lots of areas that have totally different things. In Kanto, it seems like it's just rattatas and pidgeys and spearows everywhere, with only one or two other things thrown in here and there.

I think Hoenn is better because of the battle frontier, contests and animated sprites. Although the Elite 4 in Kanto are more challenging and you can re-battle them, with their Pokemon being alot higher leveled. However i do Prefer the Kanto Pokemon. Finally i enjoyed the secret bases in the Hoenn all in all Kanto and Hoenn are both great, but Hoenn has more things to do and Kanto has better Pokemon.
