Wishfulshipping (Cilan x Iris) General Discussion - SPOILER WARNING

I'm ever so grateful... :') When I got welcomed back, it was sort of a shock for me - not because the people on the Wishfulshipping thread were likely to say no, but because a lot of people seemed to remember me in a positive way as opposed to the girl that ditched the thread when it was in need of posts... it really startled me - in a good way. And I'm really happy about it!

Which Eeveelution(s) would suit Wishfulshipping (or Dento and Iris) the best, and why?

Hmm, I have a couple. Either Flareon and Jolteon - because of the apparent Reshiram and Zekrom theme between these guys that Dentogirl pointed out. I don't know, fire/electric, just like the legendaries... and since there was a theory all about those two and how they could technically be linked to Wishfulshipping, I don't see why these notorious Poke's can't too. However, that being said, I'm very fond of Espeon and Umbreon as it is - to have Dento as an Umbreon would kind of kill the Pokemon for me though... I don't know, to me it doesn't suit. But if I could stand it, I would definitely vote those too - the Pokemon are cute as it is, so to have Wishfulshipping in the mix... it'd be quite perfect. x)

But I'm gonna go with the typical Leafeon and Espeon theme too - not only do the colours symbolise who we're trying to portray, but they seem to resemble similar things to them too. Like, Espeon with the magic-type feel (it's design - I don't know, to me it feels rather mystic, majestic...) and Leafeon with the nature-feel, clean and natural. It strikes me as the likely duo for these guys. :3

Which Eeveelution(s) would suit Wishfulshipping (or Dento and Iris) the best, and why?

Hmm, this is kind of a toughie. But, if I had to say:

Cilan: Leafeon and Flareon. I say Leafeon for obvious reasons: the grass theme, and it's amount of majesty. And, as Jess stated, Leafeon's natural feel to it (Cilan's beliefs on more natural and sciency things). I say Flareon because it reminds me of how much passion Cilan has during his extreme or connoisseur moments, which is what I probably like most about Cilan~ (remember the whole Skyla incident with the volcano in the background?)

Iris: Espeon and Jolteon. Espeon for the whole Sixth Sense/Haley Joel Osment thing, and purple color scheme. I'm saying Jolteon because of Iris (like Cilan) has a bit of a short fuse, and will object to it quickly (like lightning). Jolteon also has kind of an energetic and spunky (or should I say sparky) personality, matching Iris to a T.

Why can I picture him threatening rivals with forks?

Okay, that's arguably one of the most hilarious things I've heard all day. Somehow, I can picture Cilan doing that too (y'know, if he were a bit of a Yandere towards Iris). (Hmm, I wonder if anyone would write a Wishfulshipping fic with Yandere!Cilan... That'd be quite interesting!) Also, does it help that Cilan probably has access to a chef's knife?

Well, if it counts for anything, Choroneko, I was thinking of a Wishful fic - Gina's pretty excited for it. It centres around Lavender Town and such - The Pokemon Tower. So yeah, look out for that. I have my plans all in my inbox (yeah, I PMed myself, problem?) but I just can't figure out how to start it... every beginning I've juggled with so far just doesn't seem to fit the theme I'm going for... :/

But I'm working on it as we speak, vague ideas and the lot. I'm also kinda pumped for the Secret Santa too... though blanks are the only things in my mind right now - I got nothing for now. >A<

The word "yandere", a term that blossomed in moe fandom, refers to a character who is crazy about someone else. Literally. Despite the anime-inspired name, this type of character is much, much older than that, as one of the earliest examples is the Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar (Inanna).
The character almost always appears perfectly cute and harmless on the surface... but underneath they may be obsessive, controlling, and sometimes just plain insane. Woe to anyone who happens to be the object of their often genuine affection. Even more pity should be saved for anyone who gets in the way — the psycho-obsessive is amazingly unwilling to put up with any rivals (but the rivals had it coming). There could be a long mental instability; the girl's always been just a little bit off. Could be the product of Break the Cutie. Often eventually goes off the deep end and becomes an Ax Crazy Girl with Psycho Weapon, and that's just fun. May also be Not Good With Rejection. As a result, they are potentially scary.
They come in two flavors (equally scrumptious):
1.Possessive: This type of Yandere is so in love with their crush that (s)he's willing to kill their beloved to prevent other love interests from taking him/her away from him/her. Severed head in a bag? Fair game.
2.Obsessive: This type of Yandere is willing to kill off their competition so (s)he can be closer to their loved one.

I sure hope you're right, Choroneko... because I'm really itching to write it... it's been too long since I wrote something Wishfulshippy and I miss it. The support is great too, so thanks a lot! I guess I just really wanna nail it, since I'm guessing I'll be a little rusty as it goes anyways, having not written for it for so long... :s

As for why I see Iris as an Espeon is because it fits with her "Sixth Sense" and in my main stream games Leafeon and Espeon work well together x3 though I did have Iris cheat on Dento for Nidoking, I guess this is when his forks will come out.

Though after the new PMD trailer I toyed with Dento being Umbreon and Iris being Espeon. I see Umbreon being more against ESP and stuff, especially since it doesn't effect him. XD

That's true--Dento never seems to take notice when Iris calls him a pain, only at that one time in the Cubchoo episode. Iris must have used Miracle Eye or something.

Salad forks are very dangerous weapons in the hands of Yandere!Dento. Even worse if it's a Yandere!Leafeon Dento.

As for who he'd try to eliminate.... any male character that tries to interact with Iris, as much as saying, "hi, Iris". I'd like to see him take on Drayden.

I should not be amused at the thought of Dento trying to kill Iris to keep her, only to miss and get one of her fishy-pigtails instead... he'd carry it religiously. In that gaping void of a bag he has... omg, it seems so legit as I'm typing this. Dento, you are now classified as a new form of insane! o.o;

I'd say Chili with his NATURAL flirtatious ways (or that's how he's portrayed in A LOT of things...) would have to be careful if he ever came across the group. Dento wouldn't be too happy on him closing in on his Iris like... putting her on the spot with meaningless flirtation... though it would be quite hilarious to watch.

Chili: So Wha'd'ya say? We could travel together and you could leave these losers behind. I'd show you a good time.
Iris: Ummm... O.e

As for his targets, I totally talked this over with Pat last night about Yandere!Dento.

Here's who he'd eliminate:

Dawn, Shobu (that one childhood friend), Cynthia (he's going to need a bigger fork...), Cabernet (he already got her with Crustle), and Georgia (she won't dare Dragon Bust with Iris again...well not like she could anyway but w/e)

And of course, the golden part is Iris doesn't freak out at all just like a:

Iris: Dento will you quit trying to kill Shobu with that fork? You're such a pain. -_-
Dento: o.o Ai-Airisu called me a pain.....*drops fork, staggers painfully over to a corner and grows mushrooms*

I just can't picture Dento going all yandere over other guys. It just doesn't click in my head. XDDDDD

But yeah I picture Dento as obsessive...especially with all of his hobbies that he has. I just picture he has an Iris hobby that's gone painfully wrong.

(no Poképun intended) Ditto. The "Obsessive" flavor is much more suited to Cilan's taste I guess. It fits with the whole "Murder the Hypotenuse" trope:

TV Tropes: Love Triangles are tricky business. Trust us, we've already done the math.
It can get particularly twisted when some sides of the triangle are completely one-sided. Bob is in love with Alice, but Alice not only fails to realize it, but is already in a relationship with Chris. This is a classic recipe for drama (or humor), but sometimes, it goes too far.
Sometimes, somehow, Bob gets the idea that Chris is the one in the way of Bob's happiness with Alice, and if Chris were to somehow have an "accident", then surely Alice would come to love Bob instead. It's true — Love Makes You Evil.
Not always the best thought-out plan, no. Sometimes, Bob may not even consider what would happen if Alice ever found out. If this isn't The Reveal for a Yandere, it's still her most shocking moment.
