So were Misty, May, and Dawn. Iris is better than all three of them.

Ok I can live with the 10y old thing... but the 'reset' button they press every new season is very annoying :/ wished they could let in some of the old series in the new ones and really ??? I loved Misty May and Dawn ! :s Especially May It's really interesting how everyone's way of thinking is completely different... and the way we see things in another perspective

When I saw this episode, I was annoyed at Ash being "still 10 years old".

Oshawott's cuteness made me enjoy it anyway and I love the new graphics.

I felt sorry for Pikachu's electricity being disabled by Zekrom.

Did anyone see Oshawott's reaction to Trip choosing Snivy? LOL

And of course this Saturday, Australian viewers will finally get to see this episode on Network Ten. I'm tuning in every Saturday morning!

Wow, Pikachu tried to zap Zekrom......that must have made Zekrom mad. Pikachu deserved to have it's electricity sucked out. Good thing Zekrom politely gave Pikachu back his electricity by ZAPPING THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF HIM. That was nice. :3 10/10

So, once again, Pikachu gets screwed over once a new region begins. Poor little guy.

This episode was a good intro for young Pokemon fans: they explained a lot without it seeming too forced.

And it's going to be interesting to watch Zekrom's story pan out as the series goes on.

I miss Team Rocket's black uniforms so much, they really looked good on them. The best thing about the Unova region has definitely been the revamping of the trio. While I miss their constant one- (or more) liners, they've been so bad-a** it's been great. Plus, we get to meet Iris (yay!) and Trip (boo). Too bad Trip has yet to interest me in the least. It's also sad that apart from the upcoming episodes with Dawn, this episode is the only one with any pre-Unova characters besides Ash, Team Rocket, and Giovanni. What's Professor Oak been up to, anyway?

This episode probably would get higher marks if it didn't remind me so much of the beginning of Hoenn, with Pikachu having power problems again, but otherwise it's good.

Oh, I forgot, yay for the debut of my current favorite Ash pokemon, Oshawott.

So, in viewing the videos over at the Pokemon BW site in advance of the new game, for some reason, I overcome the first episode of Best Wishes, pre-final cut you saw on your TVs last year. The English dub is on it, but missing are the opening intro (for example, you just have a placement card with "30 second opening song"), outro/intro bump for "Who's that Pokemon?", and closing; all with the appropriate audio for the dub, though. Also, the episode title card after the opening is still in Japanese. To view it, go to the videos page on the Pokemon BW website and let it cycle through the first four videos on it's own (or just go to the 30 second mark at each video to save time, but the video player has to cycle the video to the next, not you) and you can see it.

Hej guys, I'm new to these forums

,but I got some serious criticism about the new season.

First of all , Ash seems younger now , still at age 10 , he also seem to have lost all of his experience :/ he couldn't even win from Tripp's Snivy with his LVL 100 Pikachu :s ! Also I don't like the new vibe around Team Rocket :s They became so serious and don't even say ''We're blasting off again" anymore :'( stupid... And now Brock is gone ... :/ and everything about the Sinnoh League seem to be forgotten :/ Didn't happen that severely in the beginning of Sinnoh League... Also the Iris character is so ... :/ uuh stupid kinda repetitive too.. "You're such a kid" :/ also nothing special here like pokemon contests which where COOOOL :s ! well thats my opinion ... What's yours ?!

We will never know what level Pikachu is. And Team Rocket being serious and being less on screen is the best thing that has ever happened on this show. Unlike before when Team Rocket used to be doing nothing in certain episodes, I found it very unecessary. I don't have a problem with Trip. I do have a problem with the the writers making him the only rookie in this saga. Is that really his fault?

About the episode, it was great. I'll admit, Worst Wishes started out very well. Too bad after Castelia City or so, the episodes and writing started to get worse and worse. My only problem is the fact that Zekrom appeared only to blast Team Rocket and Pikachu and do nothing else. That just doesn't make sense. Also writers, if you want to reset Pikachu, you can do so without making him suffer some dumb injury in the first episode of every series.

BW actually started off really well, almost like the series had a rebirth. The voice acting finally became tolerable for a while (then it went back to subpar in Season 15 IMHO, sadly) and Ash's VA went up drastically with the start of this episode in BW (she, unlike the others, seems to be getting better at the role at long last though it's obvious she's imitating Taylor poorly). Sadly the VA work for James and Meowth starts getting worse for Cathcart as of this episode. He cannot pull off James being serious (and people make fun of Eric...I can't take Zoppi seriously for a minute in this role...but he's so bad at being serious it's funny so I give him points for that), nor make Meowth serious but lovable at the same time. Natochenny starts off well here as Ash, actually, but her Delia is still just awful for the dub. Professor Oak's VA is the same as BF quality just like Delia is.
It's a good start to a saga I actually thought was going to be super awesome, but it does disappoint. Not bad though, of course.

Sub: 90/100
Dub: 70/100 (+5 for Ash's VA improvement, -5 for her Delia not improving, -20 for James and Meowth's VA's deprovement, and his Oak remaining stagnant)
