What I don't get in this episode is just why was Sandile magnetic? TR was able to pick up Sandile with that magnetic crane thing even though Sandile isn't a Steel-type or holding any metal (except maybe the screws holding the sunglasses together).
Just for fun, I've run down the list of starter evolutions and made my own dub names for each of them. Just try and guess, I dare ya'.

Oshawott sort of reminded me of Pachirisu in this episode......also Ash trying to swim in boiling water? I didn't think he was THAT dumb. O_o Nice to see SG Sandile (Pikachu's rival) for the first time even though it never appeared in many episodes...... 6/10

Cool episode. Like other people, I was having flashbacks to earlier episodes. Iris and Ash bickering brought back fond memories of Misty, Oshawott's capture failing sorta reminded me of Charmander, and the Squirtle Squad glasses, of course. Not the exact same or anything, but it did tickle my nostalgia bone.
I thought it was super funny when Ash got zapped due to Oshawott's dodge at the beginning. ^_^ I enjoyed the episode overall, though I thought Sandile's voice could have been better. It seemed kinda off... Can't say why. :/

Yay, the capture of Oshawott. I love that little guy.It's funny that it's the first time Ash didn't get the grass starter first, and his first lab pokemon since Pikachu. Plus, we get the debut of the sandile that Ash is about to catch in current U.S. episodes.

This was way better than the boring episode before it. Ash catches Oshawott and meets Sandile. Also Iris wasn't as annoying as usual here. She made herself useful at least.
