Prety technicolor. Just a comment from the peanut gallery, but could we get something other than Hippy Tangerine fir Pansage?

Love you're Golurk, the Sewaddle I think has a little too much detail, but I like.

I just want to see what people think of these badges.

They are the pokemon that I am currently using in Pokemon black.
The second one is Gigalith and by far the hardest.

They looik good. Larvesta didn't get a good sheen to it though, and I'm not crazy about how Scrafty's head came out. Serperior looks very nice, but the black where the green is is off. Since Badges are somewhat jeweld, that waoud be a great use ofr jade or an emerald. But that's just personal opinion.

I'm assuming you use something like png instead of jpeg (?)

I've been trying to figure out how to do the outer glow - linear burn thing from your tutorial (so I can make a proper badge), but I can't find a GIMP equivalent. I'd probably have to do it manually.

Anyway, thanks for the critique. Hopefully I can come up with something decent soon.

EDIT: (I went with berries just to hone my skills)

How did you made that outline with Gimp? Please tell.

I wonder how this looks. I did it with the dodge/burn tools instead of that ctrl thingy.
I'll work on getting better. ^^

The shading is brilliant, if you reduced the size down it would smooth out the edges and make it look much more compact and badge like.

    Keep going!

Thanks a lot for the tutorial NL! ^_^ I don't have a tablet, so I used my scanner. I simply drew the outline of the badge in pen, then scanned, took out the white and created a gray overlay over the sketch. So that was the tablet part, then I just followed your instructions. I can see the eyes didn't work too great, and the bottom dark shading may be too dark... any advice for future badges? (: Thanks!

    Edit: Just tried one more!

Nope, they look good except you seem to have a few dark grey pixels on the outside, this may be because you put the shading overlay layer on after you added the stroke outline, shading needs to be done before, then the stroke is added.

    How bad is this?
I don't have a layering thing so I had to guess where the shading lines would go.
Done on a really old version of paint. Like, 10 years old.

    Great tutorial ^_^
Just sketched out my Gardevoir Badge on paper, scanned it, then colored it in quickly. I think it turned out fairly well.

The Green could probably do with being a shade lighter.

    Red face My Badge

First of all, Thank you for the tutorial!

All I really have is MS Paint and Paint Shop Pro (A program I have very little experience with). So I just made my pixel badge using MS Paint.

If anyone knows how to do the layer-thingy on Paint Shop Pro please tell me! It would make it a lot easier. Thank You!

I tried it, but my hand was shaking, maybe the pc is better than the laptop.

Nice tutorial! I don't draw, so I will try to make a badge using Sugimori art or something like that.

DAT OKAMI BADGE - it's good to see you've managed to get so much detail in without compromising the badge style

PPL - you used white borders instead of grey... interesting. I usually try to keep them on the smaller side, so they're more symbolic than literal re-draws.
I might be doing another Video Tutorial, for the pen and pencil badges? But no promises, I have a sudden windfall of end of term coursework that needs shifting first.
