I agree. The feeling you get when you look back jt your hand crafted nigh on perfect team and think "I made that" is just the best. (gets better when u start kicking butt with it )

I don't really remember many of the stupid things I did. What does come to mind is that I used to think stat decreasing moves were totally useless. I would think my opponents were stupid for using them. I also started new games all the time. Made it kinda hard to beat any of them.

    ..Ahem.
But it may seem retarded, but it's actually kind of fun once you get used to it.
It's a bit monotonous, but it's worth it once your Pokemon reaches its full potential.
Hahaha, I was feeling the reference to the hyperbolic time chamber while I was typing it :P

And I guess I can see where you're coming from, looking at it as your pokemon reaching it's full potential

But the idea of "selective breeding" still bugs me =/
Natures aren't really that important, are they?

Edit: ALSO, I used to think Psychic types had no other weaknesses besides Dark...

For a while I thought Dark and Normal types had no weaknesses, then I realised it was just my lack of Fighting and/or Bug type moves.

    Soooo much...

I used to think that Pokemon were much bigger than the pokedex data shows them
Basically any legend in Red and Blue involving a truck or cloud city (Yes I did beat the Elite 4 30 times in a row)
That Togepi, a pokemon not scripted in Red or Blue, could appear in Red or Blue
    Bill's backyard
I didn't know where/how to get to Safferon for a long time
    THAT LANCE'S HAIR WASN'T PINK
    That Lance was cool
    Any button mashing "cheat"
Lorelei's sprite in RB looks like my mom... still kinda creeps me out
    Slowbro -> Slowking
That Pinsir would get an evolution to match Scizor
    That Gyrados was Dragon type
That Giovanni turned a new leaf after his defeat in RB, FR/LG and that is why he didn't return to TR in GS. He had changed and seen the error of his previous ways (canon since HG/SS shows he was going to return to TR and had not changed at all -_- )
That Brock and Misty would travel with you in Yellow similar to the TV show
That Groudon and Kyogre were final forms of Hoenn starters (before I played the game)
Latias and Latios were somehow related to Lugia
That Mudkip was stupid (after serious reflection I haz come to liek the little fella)
That Evs were a waste of time

    1. I thought that too

    2. LOL!!!

    3. You have a hot mom dude

    4. Ev's are a waste of time, if you're not willing to put in the effort

The whole thing about who goes first confused me too when I was little. I thought that the "stronger" Pokemon would always go first.
This confused me when my Gold Typhlosion would attack after a Pokemon that it could easily beat, though. I don't know why it never occurred to me that the Pokemon with the highest speed stat went first.

Also, when I first heard the first theme song of the anime, I thought the slogan was, "Gotta catch a ball." ;)

I thought the exact same thing. It took me a while to realize faster pokemon would attack first...

    amazing how that works.

    So many...

    - I thought Slowbro evolved into Slowking and was confused why mine never did.
    - My friend convinced me that Ho-oh was a rainbow type Pokemon and that it was super effective against anything.
    - Bill's Back Yard held rare Pokemon after the E4.
    - I believed you would get the other starter Pokemon after the E4.
    - I thought EV training was KOing Eevees for bonus stats.
    - I thought Pokerus would kill all of my Pokemon, so I restarted the game.
    - In Gold the police ask you your rivals name. I restarted the game thinking that I missed the part where he tells me his name. It took me 3 tries before I realized you get to make up a name for him.

    I was a stupid kid...
And let it be known that I have claimed the almighty Raticate, bringer of the plague!

    Oh that reminds me!

I used to train up my pokemon to level 100 and assume that a text screen would appear saying that the pokemon is trying to learn Hyper Beam or something lol

    It never did...

    -Normal was weak to Poison
-I trained my Sneasel up to lv 50 wondering when it would evolve
There's probably more but I forget

I tried to breed a Gyarados with a Feraligatr to get a Magikarp with teeth . Didn't work though, dang it XD.

And I remember throwing rocks at Pokemon, especially Psyducks, just to see just how long it took to make them run away XD.
Looking forward to the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Will be training up the shiny Abra I have that's named Robin in honor of you. May you R.I.P.

    every single encounter

I mean this was like my few weeks of playing red and blue

oh and I caught SO many Rhyhorn in the safari zone lol

I also used to try to level up my Tropius seeing if it could evolve (since there was a blank pokedex space after his one for ages after I caught him)

    I had weird evolution thoughts

weedle to kakuna to venomoth. I thought that butterfree's counterpart would be a moth.

goldeen to seaking to magikarp. Idk why,

    Mah turn:

-I thought that Pikachu was the best pokemon (ANIME ALERT!)
-Got pissed when my Pikachu lost against a Raichu. (ANIME ALERT!)
-I thought there was a secret eeveelution called eeveeon which was immortal and you got by training it to level 100
-I thought that Groudon was called Ruby
-Told my mum when my sister traded me back my Kadabra that I had given to her for her 'dex and it was an Alakazam.
-I couldn't get out of the house in Ruby (i thought the mat was a bookcase)
-I went looking for the pokemon that left the "mysterious tracks" in Ruby
    -I called my trainer Ash
-I played with my sister, who had a shiny Walrein. I thought it was hax and broke her game. (seriously.)
-When I found out about Shedinja I thought it was good.
-I used my master ball on Groudon.
-I thought Steven was a girl
-I thought Electric was super effective against Rock cus pikachu beats an Onix.(ANIME ALERT!)
-I too thought that Lugia was the evolution of Latios.
    -Spearow<Fearow<Ho-oh
    -Shellder < Ghastly < Koffing
    -Slowpoke < Slowbro < Slowking
    -Geodude < Onix
-"super effective" meant Super Eclectic. (i couldnt read) , asked my mum what it meant.
-Thought "release" was good and release Groudon.
-Tried to beat the league with the main member of my team being an Illumise level 29 that only knew Moonlight and Focus Punch.
-thought that steel was a exactly like ground only better, and thus spent almost all my time in Diamond using Grass knot on Bronzong.

All except the last were 3rd gen. Needless to say I'm not a noob anymore.
-Goes and shouts at his Pikachu*
I have claimed Mareep, which I farm for electric wool!

I used to think that Cloyster was just a Gastly trapped in a shell.
Until recently, I thought Empoleon's secondary type was Ice, then I saw Steel on the Serebii pokedex... T_T
And the first time I ever played Pokemon Red, I was stuck in the character's house for half an hour because I didn't know how to get out...

    Breeding:
Anything! PM me with the Pokemon, gender, nature and/or nickname. I cannot breed IVs, though I can go by the highest IV (the extra detail on the Pokemon's summary).

    13:00-23:00 Weekends

    - Back in the days of Pokemon Blue, I was stuck in Pallet Town for a long time because I didn't know that you could walk in grass.
    - In Pokemon Crystal, I thought that if you caught all of the Unown they would connect together to make one big Unown Pokemon.
