Oh, and I also didn't know that Machoke evolved into Machamp from trading so I wound up leveling it up to lv. 100 and couldn't figure out why it hadn't evolved. Hahaha.

I let my sister play my Sapphire, the next time I turned it on I was on Route 101 with a level 7 Treeko named "SombreroHat". And I had just defeated Winonna with my level 40 something Sceptile.

I played a first generation game after many, many years and I had forgotten how different the mechanics are. Namely, I forgot that steel and dark weren't types yet. I kept using bite on psychic types only to be confused as to why it was only doing neutral damage. I also kept using fire moves on Magnaton, because I believed it was steel.

That play through was my first game ever. Sceptile was the only pokemon I used. Since then on two Sapphire play throughs and one on Ruby I always had a Flygon ready for her Alteria.

Back to my stupid moments, on my second Sapphire play through I only used my Swampert and Kyogre, Steven remains the only npc to have ever defeated me outside of the battle tower/subway.

Tried to catch Kyogre with A+B+Start+Select. Not a good idea coz it hadn't saved for quite sometime.

I started just this year as an 18 yo, so there was not many problems, though I could think of a really bad mistake. When I first started out (Crystal), I brought a Graveler to Cianwood Gym. A Fighting-type gym. No prizes for guessing the mistake. I still wonder (as a person who has played at least one game of each following generation) how I managed to get past that gym.

I'm worse. I had a team of 6 pokemon, all lvl 45, before I faced her. One of which was Flygon, making her Altaria easy to beat.

That pretty much sums up how I played, because the time I only used Sceptile her Altaria was a nuisance. I finally killed by sending out a sadly under leveled Torkoal that I wasted the Overheat Tm on.
