This wasn't about me, but I absolutely HATED it when people said that pokemon "die" in battle. Not only is it illogical, but it brings unnecessary violence into a children's game. People still say that, too, and it really makes me mad. "Lol your pokemon died"

I used to talk to them and cuss them off if they fainted. I still catch my self telling my pokemon not to hit them selves when they get confused ;D

I used to only use my starter pokemon for battle. I think my Swampert was Lv. 100 before the Elite Four. Oops. And to this day I still hold down A + B when I'm trying to catch a pokemon, even though it doesn't do anything. Just an old habit.

I think in Celadon city, in Blue, a trainer's Pokemon was standing beside her and I would try to catch it by going into my bag and "toss" a Pokeball at it. I didn't figure out why it wouldn't work until a little later when I learned that "toss" meant "discard."

I can't remember which version I was playing when this happened, but I only caught six Pokemon throughout the entire game. Or 5 + the starter, rather.

When I got Diamond, my first Pokemon game, I knew NOTHING about Type Weaknesses, so I went through the ENTIRE game with just my Piplup/Prinplup/Empoleon. I did catch Dialga, however. So I beat the entire game with Empoleon and Dialga. XD

In Yellow when you have quench the guard's thirst, I had absolutely no idea what to do - I was stuck for days as I had no idea what a 'vending machine' was. But one day my dad was passing and managed to help me out. That's probably one of my earliest memories actually...

I couldnt get past sudowoodo in crystal. My upstairs neighbor from Etheopia who didnt speak english showed me how to do it one day when i was playing on my porch!

I used my Masterball on a Snorlax in Yellow, I didn't know that itwould be the only one I would get.

I also thought that Unown was a powerful Pokemon, because the third movie made it seem that way. I raised it to level 56 in Silver, before realizing that it sucked and dumped it in the PC.

I used to press A when catching a Pokemon because I had heard it from somewhere or someone but stopped a while ago. I also used to train only my starter to Lv 100 but stopped that with B/W. I also caught a Raichu with a Master Ball on either Red or Blue. Some nicknames I had for Pokemon on Red and Blue were pretty silly, too.

I remember when I first played a Game Boy Color. I had Pokemon Pinball at the time, and I was playing it one day when the game turned off. Not knowing that the batteries were dead, I thought that the game was broken, so we went to the store to refund the game (not 100% sure, but pretty sure it was refunded since I don't have the game anymore). I keep thinking back to that day every so often.
