I have an old friend from college who quite likes these, but I haven't listened before.
I'm quite impressed. It's really nice. I think I will certainly look into him more.

    edit: forgot to rate 9/10

I've always enjoyed that song, and the video. Has a decent enough beat to at least keep your attention long enough to listen to it. Enjoyable.

Never heard of the band before but really like what I'm hearing! It's definitely something I would be drawn to. The singer has an interesting voice.

Janelle is pretty good. Especially for those days you have to yourself cleaning the house and drinking french press coffee all day.

9.5/10 - tbh the only song I know by these guys is Voices, but this is amazing.

6/10. I really like the meaning behind the song, and the lyrics are easy to follow even without looking at them. However, the melody leaves much to be desired--it almost bored me by the first minute or so. Otherwise, not bad.

Meh, I'll play the metal game again, except this is a bit more on the folky side. This song has been stuck in my head a lot recently...

My favourite track by them, shame they don't make music like this anymore. The Flute/Whistle or whatever it is at the start is glorious.

9/10 cause it gets a tad repetitive.

I absolutely love the music; the buildup and progression, melodies and synths are incredible. Downright amazing in the music and instrumentation department. Very much so like Journey. However, the vocals seem too airy and breathless at times. And often a bit pitchy.

8/10, but would have been 10/10 if the vocals were more rich and full. Good song, but could be great.

6/10, never cared much for Dream Theater outside of Images and Words and Awake. it's not awful but it just doesn't catch my attention. i suppose it's a rather nice song but it doesn't really hold my attention very well.

The magic has faded for me I'm afraid. I used to love them but I don't care for them much any more. Not bad, but I wouldn't call it good.

Normally I'm not a fan of simple acoustic songs like these, but this one has something special to it. Perhaps it's the lead vocalist's voice. It really captures you and pulls you into the music. Still not the best style of music for me, though.

Ah yes, Within Temptation, a band I'm actually familiar with. I thought I had examined all their songs but... I guess not. Anyway, I give this an 8/10. Doesn't a pizzicato string sound wonderful in a metal song? The melody is really good in some places, and I like the lyrics. However, the chorus is a bit weak, and the musical part in the middle almost lost my interest. Yet this is a song I actually might consider putting on my "Gothic Beauty" playlist!

Let's try a different genre here--and one of my favourite "bands".

    Blackmore's Night - Ghost of a Rose

I clicked the link, thinking it would be some sort of fusion gothic rock; really melancholy. I was surprised. It's cheesy as can be, but it's catchy. And admittedly, I'm a fan of the chord progression.

6/10; despite being an overall good song, it's somewhat cheesy and a little overdone.

    6/10

I had to mark my rating down because I don't speak Swiss. I can't give a rating for lyrics when I have no idea what they are singing (although I'm assuming it has something to do with breaking free of something because of the caged hawk being released). I do like the melody of it and the video in terms of artistic quality.

    Jump Little Children - Mexico
