So the chapter starts off with a flashback to Karuta remembering how his father was the leader of the village. He was an Agilder Burst Warrior. One day, a group of people (Miruto wonders if it was GG?) Went after some pokemon in the area. Karuta's dad fought them off but ended up dying from the injuries he sustained in battle. After that, Karuta was appointed the head of the village and presumably given his father's Burst Heart.
Later, when everyone got sick, Karuta decided to leave to find a cure. His mother was opposed to this, however, saying that he doesn't have enough power to protect the village. He pushes pack, so his mother tells him that she will disown him and make sure he's not allowed back into the village if he disobeys her. Karuta decides to go anyway.
