This is a pretty unnecessary suggestion, but nonetheless, is there a way to stop the forums from automatically converting text into smilies? The smilies are really ugly (as in these ones: )

I know that you can set it for each post by ticking the 'disable smilies' box, but that only works for one post. Is there a way to disable smilies for all of my posts?

I noticed that the Link BB Code and the IMG BB Code have stopped working. When I insert the link and press OK, nothing happens. I hope this gets fixed.

You can post smilies in text without too much trouble :D Just colour in half of the smily black, or whatever colour your whole post happens to be, and voila. Quote my post to see.

Look under the reply box when you hit 'Post Reply' (not Quick Reply)

Miscellaneous Options

Show your signature
Automatically parse links in text
Disable smilies in text

Tick the Disable smilies, and everything will appear like this:

:) :( :D ;001; ;003; ;071;

You'll have to do with for each post though, you can't set it in your profile.

Alternatively, anything you wrap in [noparse][/noparse] tags will not have the effect they should. So you can write [b]bold[/b] or [u]underline[/u] without them showing. The same works for smilies.

Img tags are not active on all parts of the forums. Where were you trying to post?

What is the exact code you were writing, because I've had no trouble getting images to work in the three places you've listed.

I meant the link of the image you were trying to insert. But judging from your post in the Newbie FAQ (Where this discuss belongs, not here), you're not having a problem with IMG tags at all, just the buttons that do it for you automatically. Typing in the tags isn't not difficult, I don't use the buttons at all, all the tags in my posts are written manually.

Typing in the tags isn't not difficult, I don't use the buttons at all, all the tags in my posts are written manually.

Whoops, read it too fast. But yes it's the buttons that are failing me. I agree that typing the tags manually isn't difficult, but it does take some more time. I'm opening my Art Shop and it was quite a burden putting up all the image examples without those buttons.

If the buttons aren't working, I expect it's more likely something to do with your java script rather than the forum, as there haven't been any other complaints about it.

I don't personally feel we should reward people for getting x number of posts tbh - post count shouldn't matter and there's already the rank thing that relates to post count too.
