Oh and i know some of you guys will read this and then pick up your hammer of justice and send it crashing down upon my post with all your rage and hatred shattering it into little pieces of stupidity and shame, so i ask you to point out your objection calmly and we will talk about it reasonably unless anyone points out something which i agree with. Its just an idea so you dont have to take it as if i have insulted you.

Goodbye and have a nice day!
Because, doing it by voting would mean all the favourites are still done first and would leave us with months of crap near the end.

It's about balance. Voting system will destroy that balance

Just have to say.. There are enough "viable in OU" Pokemon for at least 4 years of POTW. I mean according to usage stats even around the 200's you have stuff like Cinccino, Tauros, Druddigon and Qwilfish all of whom have multiple OU usable sets they can run. Then there's stuff in the lower 300+ like Raticate and Arbok.. I could easily write half a dozen sets for Raticate. Raticate isn't that bad! Guts gives its Facade about as much power as Choice Band Groudon's Earthquakes (seriously).

But I don't think a vote would be worth the trouble. Regardless of what we pick people are going to complain.

Leave it the way it is.Stop complaining. It's not gonna change.I like it.It's like a surprise. You never know who it's gonna be.If everyone let the best go first then there rest of the ones that suck would most likely stop reading the potw and/or just plain stop coming to serebii.

Why do we always assume that pokemon is being used in OU? Umbreon's PotW makes it look like it's terrible, when it's a good wall in RU. Such bulkiness, being able to Heal Bell any Toxics, can pass Wishes, can boost with Curse, can BP Curses, it's AMAZING in RU.

Because most players who use the POTW to help them with sets are new to the game, and thus play OU.

That and I'm sure Reno has never played RU / UU before so he'd just have to ******** out something he doesn't know.

Umbreon isn't even THAT great in RU lol. Giving Yanmega a free switch in is never good.

Yeah, I guess the only place it can actually do something is NU, because Cress somewhat outclasses it.

    Default POTW suggestions

As an avid reader of the POTW there are a few that i'd like to see. Usually ones that i use but want to see how others use them. Or ones with Sub-par stats that could be improved.

Im currently holding out for Haxorus and Reuniclus. Both of which i have used in my teams and both of which have down right diobolical speed.

Unfortunately, the Pokemon are chosen via Random Number Generator. Thus we have Bellossom and Purugly in a row. Not that I wouldn't like to see those two you mentioned covered, but there's a chance they might not be done for quite a while.

It would be a little more work, but not as much as doing one/week last gen was since Reno or whoever compiles the PotW can just copy-paste sets and comments into the PotW section from the PotW discussion thread.
If you were to do 2 pokemon a week for almost 4 years, you're looking at about 400 pokemon, and I'm positive there are not that many fully evolved pokemon.

Hmm, now I see why you deal with the frustration of a number generator. It keeps favoritism out of the running and gives even NU pokemon an equal opportunity of being chosen.

Please webmasters.......I have something I want to say.
There is a certain pokemon that I would love to see, it hasn't been done since Gen 3.
Life has only gotten worse for it as it has gone through the generation transitions, and not even smogon has any sort of movesets or strategies for it.
It is currently an RU pokemon.
    Lanturn.

I've loved this thing since it came out in Gen 2, and (used to) have the title of the only pokemon who got every inch of boosts out of rain besides an ability, thanks to STAB Hydro Pump and STAB Thunder.
While its stats are meh........the thing still is awesome.
So please at least read this, I'm sick of no one even MENTIONING Lanturn.
Even if you give it a ton of crap, it's better than nothing.
Thanks for reading this, if you did.

.... This topic is for regaurding how they select pokemon. Not for suggesting what pokemon do next. They use a random number generator, and they do not take sugggestions. So whats the point of doing it?

How about keeping the random number generator but giving Pokemon in higher tiers more numbers than those in lower tiers?

They won't do that b/c pretty much anybody who pays any mind to competitive battling knows what to expect out of the most popular pokemon, but no one cares for UU/RU. Or at least, almost no one cares for them.
