When was the last time Brock was in a real battle before this, not counting when he used Sudowoodo against Meowth in DP191? I think his last real battle was in that Cherubi girl episode back at Snowpoint city...

Why Brock why on Earth would you entrust something so important to your father?
Excellent episode, I like the family dynamics with Brock's entire family it really brings home the importance of the Pewter Gym. Forest did an excellent job at battling Joy, nice to see that the gym is in good hands.

That is indeed unfair. Then they can close down every gym...

Aside from that, enjoyable episode and nice storyline, and nice to see Forrest getting some time on screen and nice to see him battle. I hope this won't be Brocks last episode ever, I hate Cilan, Brock is better! I hope Brock will return someday, as a recurring character, or even better, as a main character (but I know that won't happen).

This special was awsome and funny! It makes me miss Brock though and it's too bad they didn't show Brock's other Pokemon.

What I was most displeased at was Nurse Joy and her Latias.

Seriously, just coming off Takuto and his Latios, they must love them some Lati@s, them animators.

She used Chansey skillfully enough, I'm sure a Dragonite or other dragon non-legend would have worked better.


Also, WTF on Brock's brother with the Rhyperion, yet Brock's pokemon save for 3-4, never evolved/ were neglected.

What the hell did I just watch? I don't get this about Brock's crazy family again. Was there a need for the legendaries to make the show more interesting or what? And giving them to a Nurse! Was there no one else? I mean absolutely no one else? It would have been better to have Tobais show up to do that then to.........You know what, nevermind. They might as well as shut it down. We all know that something else bad would happen to it by the time Brock gets back if that kid or his retarded parents can't keep it up.

Nibi Gym - The Greatest Crisis Ever!

Good Points:

• Takeshi's pictures with his past traveling companions, gotta love that.

• Jiro and Joi's battle was actually pretty good, Jiro is a beast to almost beat a Latias. Not to mention it scored several direct hits against Latias and he used Megahorn due to the super-effective power of it. The fact he managed to cause more damage and his attacks were more effective than Pikachu's against Latios, coupled with the fact he's one of the few characters in this series who can go toe to toe with a Legendary makes me view him as one of the stronger Kanto leaders.

• I guess Takeshi's parents were good, tbh, I don't really care about solely comedic actions.

• Takeshi's Paradise and the animation were just beautiful ;__;

• Usokkie VS. Lucky, sure it was comedy. It was refreshing to see a move like Minimize and Mero-mero not being overpowered. I definitely think the battle should have been much longer, DoubleSlap really ate away that much of Usokkie's health for Takeshi to say that ._. and Flail looked very pathetic compared to when it was used against Muskippa when it evolved? ._. It's one of my favorites of the DP Pokemon so it kinda sucked it went down so easily to Egg Bomb and DoubleSlap.

• The siblings managed to be entertaining especially when they connected Usokkie's infatuation to Takeshi's own behavior.

Bad Points:

• More Gureggru and Lucky please, especially the latter given I feel she was an integral part in Takeshi choosing to be a Pokemon Doctor.

*Even though we've seen the "Nibi Gym in peril." plot before, I was pretty engrossed with Takeshi's Special from start to finish. I think him not doing relatively anything in DP for the later half makes you appreciate him more in this episode.

Overall, neither Takeshi nor Hikari are terribly interesting enough to carry a Special on their own, at least in Hikari's case. But overall I'd say the Takeshi Special was great and the Hikari one was average.
