Which Starter Will You Pick? (and Why?)

I'm debating between Snivy and Oshawott as of now.

Everybody seems to like oshawott but ill pick snivy, probly wont use on my final team though

snivy, his final evo is my favorite.
oshawott will be my black starter, since its final evo is my second favorite.

im really dreading the ?gray? playthrough with tepig though, that last...thing is just....ugg, infernape did you gain weight?

My starter will be Osh... Mijumaru

I'll rename it to original name which I love. But, why I'll pick this one? The main reason is because I've started my pokemon adventure (in pokemon red version) with water starter (salute's to good old squirtle). And also, Mijumaru looks for me best from all the three. It looks like real friend

I am going to choose Snivy. Because I have the perfect name for him,hes not a stalker and home wrecker(like a certain blue otter..>.>),hes an adorably awesome snake,and always gives this e.e facey which just adds more of a reason for me to choose him since he doesnt seem all happy happy like the other two(give him a cane and feathered hat and he'd be the first starter pimp O.o) Plus I found his plushie to be the best made of the starters.My second choice then would be Tepig(cuz he reminds me of those mexican pig shaped cookies :q),and then lastly oshawott (cause his 3rd form reminds me of a funny old beardy samurai.)

I'm really surprised with the ratings in this poll. I never realized that Oshawott was so popular. I was sure that most people would be choose Tepig given how many posts I've seen in the last few months where people keep saying that they intend to SR for a shiny Tepig. I'm not at all surprised of Snivy's huge popularity though.

Is anyone else surprised by the current rating?

Well, two of my friends are also getting the new Pokemon games. I'm getting Black, and they're both getting White. I'm going to start off with Oshawott, and my two friends are picking Snivy and Tepig.

Honestly, I like all the starters this gen, including Tepig. The only thing I don't like about Emboar is his typing, but he plays very differently from Blaziken and Infernape.

I was actually surprised to see more people going for Tepig on another forum, considering how low it's ranking on here.
But personally, I think I've finally settled on Tepig as my first starter in B&W. I'm tempted to SR for a shiny, but I don't want to waste too much playing time with it when I could be exploring Unova.

I'm picking Tepig since I've already played with Oshawott and Snivy in the Japanese Pokemon Black.

For me, its SNIVY! XD

Well, i like mijumaru and its second evolution... but its final evo isn't nice...
As for tepig, its speed is slow... and its final evo doesn't look nice too :\

Well I'm going for Tepig. Normally I start new Gens with the Grass starter, but the fact that in Dream World it can get Perversity will mean that I would always think of mine as bargain basement.
So it was just between Water and Fire, and there are a lot of other good Water types in B/W, plus the Fire types final evo has a great animated backsprite.

Snivy for black because I just simply like it. Tepig for black because of a really good Special Attack compared to the other starters.

Looks like I'm gonna go with Snivy. I like Seperior the most out of the three final evos, even though I don't really like grass pokemon. I guess I can always not use him later on and find something else to use.

What I plan on doing is getting both games, playing Black with Oshawott as my main game and downloading Victini. Then I'll start White and choose Snivy, get Victini on that game, and then trade Snivy, Victini, and Panpour over to Black. Then I'll restart White and choose Tepig and download Victini to the new save file.

That way I have all three starters, all three monkeys, and 3 Victini!

Gonna start with Oshawott (nicknamed NANDA?!). Reason: I don't like the other starters. I've never liked grass types and I'm sick of the new "fire-fighting" trend (nobody can replace Blaziken, in my book). So that leaves Oshawott. Not a huge fan of his final stage, but I'll get used to it, I suppose....

I had a good run w/Oshawott in my JP White, plan on doing the same in my US copy.
