i haven't heard her sing live yet but if she is as good as people say then there is a slim chance that i may someday like carly.but for now, i've never hated a singer more.

My only real probelm with her is the fact she is so overplayed, it's annoying af. I don't really dislike her other than that.

Gosh, ya know I never really liked what Kanye West did, but I do have to agree with him. Taylor Swift isn't country OR pop, and it's terrible. At first it was interesting, like watching the olympics for the first time, then you realize that it goes on for another 4 days. I think for Taylor to be taken, a little seriously, she should go back to "country", or what people are calling country.

I don't have a problem with her trying to mix genres, I only dislike the fact that she's still singing breakup songs from a 15-year olds perspective at this point in her career.

In other news, Azealia Banks is rumoured to be collaborating with Kanye West and Lady Gaga, presumably on different tracks. Thought I'd reluctantly drop by this thread once more to remind people that there is hope out there.

And speaking of desperation, it seems Katy was asked to be a judge on American Idol, but she declined the offer. Good for her. She isn't ready to be a judge and it's cool to see that even she knows that. Some other artists may be desperate to get promo by joining the cast, but Katy kept things classy. Source.

Has anybody heard Christina Aguilera's demo for "Your Body"? Yes, it's generic, but it's good generic. I think it's just what she needs to be back at the top. My only concern is, that for the final mix of the song it's been reported that the tempo is sped up, which I feel would be a bad move.

Have you listened to 1991 (features 212)? It's a really cool E.P/smooth 90's throwback which showcases her ability to rap and her astute ability to craft a good pop song that doesn't rely on the Starships formula. I listened to a song of her's (Jumanji) the other day which really wasn't very good, admittedly, but by working with Kanye and Gaga she really has the potential to expand upon her rap/pop songs and create more awesome material. Hopefully she could inspire Gaga to create something less stodgy than some of the Born This Way content, too.

It's pretty mediocre. At first I thought it could work, and then I realised how emotionless and how un-Florence it sounded. She sounds about as devoid of energy as any generic woman slapped onto the chorus of a dance/rap track.

And also, Calvin Harris used to be tolerable until he started making all these crap c+p's. I guess he realised that he was getting a lot more recognition/money when he was dumbing himself down for Rihanna and co.
