Unless you trade it over to BW2, there isn't any way to tell if it's the gift Dratini, or just a random egg that hatched shiny.

There actually isn't any reference to it having formerly been an egg on the status screen (no "Egg received," "Egg hatched," etc.), so I am hoping it is the former. And I actually didn't think of that- I'll have to trade it over at some point and see what it shows in Black 2/ White 2.

It did change over to Flocessy Town when I traded it to my Black 2, so we're all good. I'm glad it turned out to be legitimate, since shiny Dragonite looks awesome.

Should a Newmoon Island Darkrai have a fateful encounter tag after it is transferred to Generation V?

There is four tags you must find in any legal Pokemon you transfered from the 4th gen

1- Apparently arrived at Lv.( For normal Pokemon and normal legendary Pokemon. )

2- Apparently arrived at Lv. after a long travel through time ( That's mean that Pokemon was in 3rd gen and transfered to the 4th gen then to 5th gen. )

3- Apparently arrived at Lv. fateful encounter ( means this Pokemon is an event Pokemon or came from spin-off game.)

4- Apparently arrived at Lv. after a long travel through time. Fateful encounter. ( means this Pokemon came from an event or spin-off game in the 3rd gen and transfered to the

4th gen then 5th gen. )
