You said you obtained this at level 55 through GTS? That means someone touched and trained this thing already. I think somewhere it should say that it was caught at level 40, and it says it arrived from the Johto region meaning it was from HG/SS.

    This looks legal to me

ty for the reply Alexis. it was ev reset as far as i know before it was put on GTS. it didnt mention anything about being caught at lvl 40. i leveld it up to 56 during EV training it and changed its moves. it was HG/SS origin. im guessing the grass HP was just a lucky shot.

i would've like a 3iv modest suicune but this one will do just fine until i get a better IV one.

Got this one whilst wonder trading on XY (just bare with me, I'm just getting back into pokemon and feel quite a noob at the moment)

I really have no idea what I'm looking for here:

    Pokemon Species: Alakazam
    Nickname: Alakazam
    OT: Mario-Chu
    OT Gender: Female
    IDno: 13303
Shiny?: I think it might be, don't know how to tell. It's the pink coloured one if that helps.
    EV's: (if known)
    IV's: (if known)
    Nature: Timid
    Characteristic: Takes plenty of siesta's
    Ability: Magic Guard
    Moves:
    • Psychic
    • Shadow Ball
    • Focus Blast
    • Dazzling Gleam

Level Caught at: Doesn't say (or I dont know where I'm looking) - From Day Care Helpers
Current Level: 100 (It was this when I received it)
    Stats:
    • Attack - 122
    • Defense - 126
    • SP. Attack - 369
    • SP. Defense - 226
    • Speed - 372

Location Caught: From Day Care Helpers
Egg?: Egg received 2/22/15 - Egg Hatched 2/22/15 - The day I got it, it wasn't an egg though so I guess it was created that day by the sender.
Pokeball Caught In: A Pink and white one with a heart on it.
    Any other notes?:
Under 'Where', it states 'Battle Resort.'
Has a red star, a pink smily face and a blue pentagon and is Psychic.

If you can provide a picture with this info and more, that would help out people checking - Attached:

Looks legit, it's from Sinnoh in a regular ball, it's not shiny, it doesn't have any funny move and it doesn't seem to have perfect IVs to make it suspicious, at least I can't see anything wrong with it.

Looks like it is either hacked or was a legit offspring, breeding for shiny isn't as hard as it used to be (I think someone said that with MM it is 1 in 500? Not sure) but still weird to give off a shiny with perfect IVs at the GTS, the "faraway place" means it is either hacked or an egg from a location that isn't available at XY (like the Mirage Caves).

Ever though most people likes to say that shiny 6 IVs pokémon are hacks, it's perfectly possible to be a legit offspring so unless that OT is a known hacker or anything (which I doubt since your Alakazam was hatched from an egg and is gen 6 native) I say it's legit.

Hmmz, this pokemon doesn't come from an egg. It says caught at level 10. The chances for a flawless shiny to be encountered (in the field, that is) is too low to be legit. I'd say it is a hack. "Faraway place" means it's from ORAS while received on XY.

Oh, right, silly me, I saw the "Faraway Place" but didn't realize it wasn't an egg. Yeah it's probably hacked.

    Is this a hack?

    Species: Mew

Nickname: Mew (in a different font)

OT: Zodim (in a different font as well)

    IDno: 32514

    Shiny?: Yes

EVS: Full Sp. Atk and Speed, nothing else

IVS: The guy at the Battle Resort says they are outstanding, all of them are good, and they simply can't be beat

    Nature: Timid

    Characteristic: Takes plenty of siestas

    Ability: Synchronize

    Moves:
Metronome, Aura Sphere, Psychic, Mega Punch

Level caught at: Unknown, but presumed to be from Faraway Island

    Current Level: 100

    Stats: HP=342, Atk=212, Def+Sp. Def=236, Sp. Atk=299, Speed=328

Location caught: Presumably Faraway Island, as it comes from a fateful encounter in the Hoenn region

    Egg?: Not a chance

    Pokeball caught in: Premier Ball

    Notes: It is Japanese.

    EDIT: Can be used online.

EDIT 2: Recovered from Pokerus (didn't know if that was important) and has all of the marks.

So, if the Mew isn't from the Faraway Island then it's a hack, however I do think it's a hack since you find the Mew in the wild at the Faraway Island, I am not sure myself but I don't think it gets marked as a "fateful encounter" when you catch Mew, Deoxys, Ho-Oh and Lugia at Emerald, Leaf Green and Fire Red (Mew is only from Emerald and as japanese, as a side note).

This Mew was RNG's fairly, but something to keep in mind is that this mew was once public on pokecheck, and downloaded, a lot. It is also to note that following the fall of pokecheck, this same mew was cloned a grotesque amount of times.
Besides that, the mew should be a clone of a RNG, which is perfectly legal. (Unless you count emulator RNG'd pokemon as hacks)

OT: Zodim (in a different font as well)

    IDno: 32514

    Shiny?: Yes

EVS: Full Sp. Atk and Speed, nothing else

IVS: The guy at the Battle Resort says they are outstanding, all of them are good, and they simply can't be beat

    Nature: Timid

    Characteristic: Takes plenty of siestas

    Ability: Synchronize

    Moves:
Metronome, Aura Sphere, Psychic, Mega Punch

Level caught at: Unknown, but presumed to be from Faraway Island

    Current Level: 100

    Stats: HP=342, Atk=212, Def+Sp. Def=236, Sp. Atk=299, Speed=328

Location caught: Presumably Faraway Island, as it comes from a fateful encounter in the Hoenn region

    Egg?: Not a chance

    Pokeball caught in: Premier Ball

    Notes: It is Japanese.

    EDIT: Can be used online.

If the Mew is from Hoenn, it is definitely a hack. IV 31 all is impossible to obtain in Emerald without breeding, as no such spread exists. For Timid, the best spread that's reasonable is IVs: 21, 4, 31, 31, 26, 31.
Trying to get back into the games, but not really finding a purpose.

Just so you know, I just realized that I got the EVS wrong. There are a couple points in HP, but I can't tell how many. I would use a reset bag, but I don't have time.

It doesn't matter, the OT of that Mew is a known RNGer from Smogon. As already mentioned, it was RNGed on an emulator but otherwise it is considered legal. Since the OT is recognized, something as easily changeable as EVs doesn't really matter for legitimacy (so long as the EVs don't exceed the total amount possible, which is really the only reason this question is part of the form).

Maybe that's why he traded it for a regular Mew that I had...

That statement doesn't mean that Pokemon in Generation III can also be IV 31 all for Calm, Docile, Modest, and Timid. There are 4 IV 31 all possible natures in all of Generation III and IV. And they're all in Generation IV.

I know how RNGing works. There is NO IV 31 all spread ANYWHERE in Generation III, or at least for encounter in Emerald. Ask the guys on Smogon if you must. For Generation IV, yes, there are IV 31 all frames. I use them quite a lot for my RNGing. Not III. At least not in Emerald, which only uses Method 1, which has no IV 31 all frame. For Ruby/Sapphire, it may be possible. I don't know for sure. FRLG? Maybe. Again, don't know. For Emerald? I know it's impossible. Unless there is a perfect spread for Method 1 that the RNG Reporter failed to show because it's like frame 1 billion, then IV 31 all ENCOUNTER Pokemon in Emerald is impossible.

    ...what?
3rd and 4th gen method 1 is exactly the same, all method 1 spreads are (eventually) possible for Emerald, and for Emerald emulator RNGers 1 billion is a reasonable frame (although I prefer a different method that uses the one time Emerald actually seeds properly rather than waiting for high frames).

    Hex Timid is 176,562,489 btw.

Just to be clear about something:

Are there any Legendary Pokemon that defintely, legally, can have optimal natures AND 5IVs+? Like, I've seen numerous Shiny Genesects, Modest + 6IVs. I have a Shiny Dialga, Modest, with 6IVs in a Master Ball (I got it during my Diamond days).

With the advent of 3IV+ Legends from X/Y onwards, plus the dump of Legends that came with ORAS, I've started actually playing with the idea of using Uber Legendaries. It's just so much easier and legitimately possible to get competatively viable Legends. But there are still plenty you can't control (Pixie Pokemon, event-exclusive Legends, etc).

So, of those out of those that can't be caught by your standard 12 year old XY/ORAS player, what event Legends were gifted with 6IVs, and/or Shiny, and/or with variable Natures?

It has to do with RNG. Usually natures and IVs are random, but with RNG, you can decide what you get for IVs and natures. Only certain gifted event legends are shiny: Japanese Genesect, Sinnoh Dragons and Johto dogs (afaik, there might be more). Ofcourse encounter legends can be RNGd to shiny, perfect IVs and correcy nature.
