I got my new issue on the 8th. One Piece was pretty good this issue (and the others as well). It's a shame that 4Kids's dub cut out the stuff that was in the "Spin, Pinwheel" chapter of this issue. This chapter was very important; it showed everybody celebrating Arlong's defeat (even though they did some in the previous chapter), Johnny and Yosaku officially leaving, and why Mr. Genzo wore his pinwheel.

D.Gray-Man looks good, but is there a reason they grabbed outta chapters 2 and 3? Prince looks good too, I'd start that, if it wernt already so long. Other than that, everything was good. One Peice seems like it'll get good. Naruto too, but I'm most looking forward to the next arc of Shaman king.
Hooray for college

Just got the new Shonen Jump issue (May 06) today. From what I read...
One Piece- Great- it has three chapters in it. Smoker's name is replaced by Chaser! First Cocoyashi Village being changed to Coco Village, and now this! Spoiler:
Buggy and Alvida return.
Also, in the next issue, Chapter 100 will Spoiler:
have a color spread.
Oh, and they didn't show the results of that One Piece contest about filling in the speech bubbles in the Chapter 98 panels.
Naruto- Also great. Not too much happens in this issue, but we do get to see the debut of Spoiler:
Jiraiya
, especially in the next issue. Spoiler:
Ebisu
returns, and there is also a brief appearance of Spoiler:
Konohamaru and Sasuke.
Hikaru no Go- Pretty good. The greatest thing in my opinion was Spoiler:
Waya grabbing the person who teased Isumi about his victory not a guarantee of him passing the pro test.
By the way, can somebody tell me the name of the girl insei that was with Hikaru and the others?
Yu-Gi-Oh- Pretty good. Spoiler:
The Pharaoh still isn't found yet.
Just to warn you guys, this arc is still far from over, especially with a rate of two chapters a month.
That's all I read so far.
Oh, and about what I said about Smoker's name being changed to Chaser... BELATED APRIL FOOLS! (I wonder if anybody believed me...)

Thank god they didn't change Smoker's name to Chaser. I'm guessing alot of fans had sent death threats to them. Then again, they didn't go back and change Gin's name to Ghin.
Naruto....gawd, is it me or is Naruot being pimped by Shonen Jump, and Cartoon Network?
Yu-Gi-Oh was the big man on campus, but now with his manga and anime coming to a close in the U.s., Naruto is the new heavy hitter.
Yami's been gone for a while, so if he ever came back on a cover, I wouldn't care. Man, I wonder how long it's gonna take before people get sick and tired of Naruto...

Probably quite a while. I always dreaded Naruto coming to America because I knew it would be the next big cash cow, and the manga and anime would be shoved down people's throats like there was no tomorrow. Guess my prediction came true.
Claimed Portgas D. Ace from One Piece in the bishie thread.
Monochrome sprites recolored by me. Yes, this sig is terrible. Big deal, you want to fight about it?
Well, I'm not surprised at Naruto being the next big cash flow. :/ It's like they're trying to hipe it up like Dragonball Z was and still is. I don't understand why people keep pushing anime on kids....;; They'll only be hated at their schools..
(image beautifully drawn by pixiv user id #45323) Lelouch is watching over all of us.
^ Depending on the schools. Or they're mainly trying to push certain animes and not anime in general. (I've heard more people mention DBZ, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, and/or Pokemon more than anime in general.)
Anyway, I just got my July 2006 issue of Jump, and here are the details for the cover, DBZ, One Piece, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hikaru no Go, and the next issue:
Spoiler:
Cover: It's a blue-green cover with Super Vegirot on it. (Either that or Super Saiyan Goku.) Get this: It also has a different front and back, just like the old issues! The back cover has that Dragon Ball Z picture of everybody that was on the back of DBZ Vol. 23.
Dragonball Z: It has DBZ Chapter 311, "Vegirot's Game", where Vegirot/Vegitto fights Boo/Buu.
One Piece: Laboon and Raftel kept their names (it was "Raftel", right?), and so did Crocus. We also saw Ms. Wednesday, Mr. 9, and the Unluckies. "Whiskey Peak" was simply changed to "Whisky Peak". No big deal, in my opinion.
Naruto: Naruto finally summons a giant frog, but eventually collapses upon using the last of his strength. Naruto and Choji get put in the hospital, which Shikamaru visits. Then Naruto and Shikamaru end up running into Gaara, stopping him from harming Lee, who's still in the hospital.
Yu-Gi-Oh: The Pharaoh goes underground to fight Bakura with the help of Mahado.
Hikaru no Go: Unfortunately, there's only one chapter. Yeah, one. Not much happens except Sai plays against a player named Kadowaki and wins.
Next issue has a preview of Rurouni Kenshin and something called Zombie Powder. In the September Issue, a manga called Reborn (aka Hitman Reborn) will be previewed.

5.dragon ball 2/10:never liked it
6.one piece 7/10:very enjoyable
THATS ALL FOLKS! ps: i no SHAMEN KING iz not on here but i never read it. im sure its cool!
Bobo is one of the funniest manga I've seen. It will probably hit US at some point as it is somewhat popular, (in both Japan and US)
It may be funny, but what I find more entertaining than the funnyness is that it is just soooooooooo idiotic and stupid and is something that nobody outside of Japan could come up with.
Man, I hate how everytime a manga gets a color spread, the following chapter titles are removed from the magazine. That's why I've lost track of what's been happening in the Koby/Helmeppo side story in One Piece.

My favorites are Shaman King and Naruto. Honestly, although I feel like Naruto is being overly-promoted, I don't mind. It's pretty good, if you ask me. Hikaru no Go is ok... I don't know, a board game...? Still, it's not bad. Just not something I would really be intersted in if it weren't in the magazine. One Piece is ok... it's funny, and it's light.

Ouch. Disturbing lack of Shaman King talk in here, a.k.a. the most underrated manga running in the magazine as of yet. :P I'm looking forward to seeing what Anna learns about Hao in the upcoming chapters.
I don't know about you guys, but I think Zombie Powder is WAAAAAY more awesome than Bleach. I'm surprised Bleach became more popular than it, but that's probably because ZP stopped at four volumes =/ It has what Bleach (IMO) lacks: Cool characters, inventive weapons (a flippin' chainsaw sword!), great battles, more of a detailed art style, etc.
And when the hell is Viz finally gonna serialize another manga in the magazine? All we get now since DBZ left are previews. Previews are well and good, but no one has enough money to buy every manga that is previewed in the mag.
Plus, didn't Viz say in one of the first issues that when their circulation got higher they could serialize more manga and probably make the cost of the magazine cheaper? If so, why aren't they doing that? I'm sure their circulation is much higher now, every grocery store in my area has at least one SJ issue.

A rumour is Gin Tama will get serialized, as the puzzlie in this issue spells out "Gin is coming".
And Yugioh GX has been confirmed to start at the end of the year as well, but it will have one chapter per issue as they are only up to Chapter 7 in Japan as it's a monthly manga.
