I hate the plot twists. I hate the art. And the thing I hate the most are the characters themselves and their goals - I just can't become emotionally attached to them. I mean, I did kinda like Gray and Erza's storyline until suddenly Gray's sensei's daughter - yes a daughter - was the bad guy - that's right a guy randomly became a woman who just so happened to be Gray's sensei's daughter whom for whatever reason wanted to melt her mother's ice spell - showed up and when Jellal - Gerard? Gelal? Could CR at least ask the Japanese for a romanisation? - randomly became a good guy but then was arrested and will likely become a bad guy, and he, mysteriously has a load of clones/brothers? And Wendy apparently knew Jellal, but it might have been Mystogan? Another clone? And then her whole guild was actually just a spell which makes no sense considering how they looked scared when Nirvana was about to be fired, but if they weren't real, why did they look scared? No sense whatsoever = crappy, last minute plot-twist. Lucy and Happy - they are just the blonde, big-breasted, not funny in the slightest fan-service and "cute mascot" characters whom add nothing to the story. And Natsu...hello Naruto/Luffy/Goku, I didn't know you had pink hair... Yeah. The story is awful.
Wendy's Clan was simply this old guy's ability to keep and illusion up and make it look as real as possible. Each person basically acted like their own person.
Lucy does become useful later on and wins a lot of her fights and slowly upgrading her own magic abilities. Happy is pretty freaking useful for Natsu in his own right but obviously they are fanservice/gag characters. Thats not really a glaring flaw.
Also this guy seems to borrow a lot of things from his old work Rave Master and even makes some homages toward that work.
tl;dr it's obviously not your cup of tea so you just don't bother to figure out whats going on.
Natsu reminds me too much of Luffy with his outfit and personality. I like it decently but I still don't have it in my list to read whenever a new chapter comes out.
Its kinda weird sometimes as well liked that one arc that I didn't really get. Also I thought the guild master was the strongest guy, how do you lose against the bad guy? I'm also kinda confused at how Natsu can't swallow Black Fire when I skimmed over those chapters.
Natsu can't swallow god flames because they are apparently a flame tougher than dragon flames.
Not to knock those who don't like it but you could at least read it a little better so you can understand whats going on. The chapters are actually pretty straight forward.

Hey guys, just poking my head in, being a huge Fairy Tail fan. I won't be joining in the discussion as much as I'd like, since I'm behind in the manga (in the middle of volume 10), but I'm going to put it out there that in my opinion, it's one of the best new series in a long time and hearkens back to a lot of the classic more upbeat action/adventure series of the 90s. It's the only series that's rivaled Slayers in terms of how much I love it.
Great characters, great soundtrack, and I appreciate that while Natsu is powerful, he's not the beat-all-end-all when it comes to the various characters. Most of them have something to offer in terms of story and ability. In addition, it has some very strong female characters who are able to be strong without being entirely shoved into the "tomboy/masculine female" category.
Number one fan of Palpitoad's wiggly tumor dance.
Next it's the pinnacle of me being cynical
Can I be the lynch pin compelling to judge a lottery
Baggy and awfully, bumpy and blistery,
Brutally homeless and fluffy
Basically there's still a long ways to go before they can beat everyone from Grimore Heart.
The description are very straightforward, if you read well enough you shouldn't have any problem understanding. Btw, if you read this arc at all you would know that it is about the origin of magic, so it's going to be answered eventually. Giving info out like that would just ruin the entire plot from the beginning, so instead saying things aren't explained you should read more carefully and wait for them to be explained.
Please stop complaining about Pikachu losing to "weak" Pokemon at the start of each new region. Its power is drained at the start of each new region, and anyway, it's equally bad storytelling for Pikachu to plow through all of its opponents.
