Also added in a follow-through example type of thing in the OP. It was pretty fun to do actually, but the team has absolutely no metagame experience, so don't even think about stealing it, unless you can actually improve it. It's just an example.
I've been thinking of adding in a few more Pokemon too. Mamoswine? I'm saying "no" to Snorlax and Cobalion for now since they really haven't been that impressive to me. Mamoswine can at least use its Ground/Ice coverage to thrash through a good portion of the metagame AND use Stealth Rock while doing that. Might add in Rotom (Grass) and Rotom (Fire). I'm not sure about Weavile and Milotic. There's a slew of other borderline-looking things too such as Flygon, Ninjask, Ludicolo, Empoleon, Aerodactyl, Eelektross, Abomasnow, Charizard, Donphan, etc. I do have some uncommon stuff in, such as Bisharp, but I'm not sure if I should go "add them all".
Hmm, it would start getting very cluttered though. I might just remove Bisharp and Electivire, etc.
edit: okay, my other peeps are telling me to keep the guide as it is. No removals or additions lol. Just some food for thought.
Sigilyph and Mew are starting to get some usage. I might implement them in soon. Maybe Arcanine too. Oh, forgot Wobbuffet existed, though it's not used much.

Well, for one anything with a strong Fire Blast is going to kill you before you can Metal Burst. Heatran, Infernape, and the fire moth come to mind.
If you are trying to use Metal Burst, you should be using Bastiodon or one of those retarded unreliable F.E.A.R pokemon. Bastiodon has sturdy, but those pokemon are usually deemed as high risk/high reward strategies, and require great prediction and support.
That is one of the main reasons why Counter sash leads are not my cup of tea, and I would rather be just attacking. Jirachi is pretty much singing "anything you can do, I can do better" to that Cobalion. Who cares about Taunt for Gyarados when Jirachi is going to Body Slam rendering its Dragon Dances useless regardless? Heck, Jirachi can even heal himself!
Don't get me wrong, it looks decent at a glance, but if you think about it... I think there is just clearly better options.
...
In th rain? D:
There's a few things he still does better and i'm going to argue because I like Cobalion. I dunno.
1) Higher Atk
2) Beats Bulk up scrafty
3) Pairs so well with the lati twins that you have a resist-everything-but-flying combo
4) Metal Burst. Bleh.
5) Jirachi has better stuff to be doing anyway. With trick and SR and screaming "HEY I DO STUFF BETTER THAN YOU DO!"
6) Faster
7) More Def
8) 4x resists a lot of stuff... better than Jirachi
9) I dunno. Phazing?
10) They have different roles anyway. I don't care if Jirachi can heal itself. I'm just gonna use him cuz I FRIGGIN LIKE TO USE HIM.
eh ok im done with that
No, keep Bisharp and Electivire and etc there. Everyone likes choices. Just because the metagame doesn't revolve around them doesn't mean they won't show up.
@v: Argh nevermind.
Otherwise we'd just flood the page
But I still don't care. In the same way Mudkip>Swampert(FYI I hate mudkip), I'll still stick with Cobalion.

There's a few things he still does better and i'm going to argue because I like Cobalion. I dunno.
1) Higher AtkJirachi can flinch things to death, making Jirachi's killing power very similar to Cobalion's. Alot of games I was up 3-1, and their last guy was a Jirachi and they flinched the rest of my team to death.
2) Beats Bulk up scraftyJirachi can flinch this guy to death too, and if Cobalion ends up switching in on Drain Punch things won't be too pretty. Heck, Jirachi is often partnered up with Spec'd Latios which calls upon the apocalpyse to Scrafty.
3) Pairs so well with the lati twins that you have a resist-everything-but-flying comboWho is to say Jirachi cannot form a solid Steel/Dragon core with Latios, Latias, or any dragon for that matter?
4) Metal Burst. Bleh.It is gimmicky, even in the rain.
5) Jirachi has better stuff to be doing anyway. With trick and SR and screaming "HEY I DO STUFF BETTER THAN YOU DO!"Jirachi has better support options, better defensive typing since it isn't weak to fighting, is much more versitile meaning it is very unpredictable. This doesn't mean Jirachi is any worse of a supporter than Cobalion is though. Defensive support is Jirachi's best set in gen 5.
6) FasterParalysis support undermines that, and what pokemon can Cobalion outspeed that Jirachi would really like to outspeed but can't?
7) More DefIt is weak to fighting, and Jirachi has more hit points. Jirachi seems more physically reliable to me.
8) 4x resists a lot of stuff... better than JirachiJirachi isn't weak to fighting, which is HUGE and has random other resists like flying and psychic.
9) I dunno. Phazing?Jirachi used Swagger! It can annoy the opponent until they switch! Just kidding, but don't make me list everything else Jirachi can do.
10) They have different roles anyway. I don't care if Jirachi can heal itself. I'm just gonna use him cuz I FRIGGIN LIKE TO USE HIM.Yes, Cobalion is supposed to be offensive. It shouldn't be a wall, and if you like to use him keep using him. Nobody is here to stop you.
Huge Sidenote: Why is Smogon dead?
On its main page, it says nothing but:
It works!
This is the default web page for this server.
The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet.
Kind of like every last bit of it was reset I do hope there's a back-up.
Maybe it's just down because they're updating the whole site with 5th gen strategy and stuff... I hope.

I would say add Mew as a defensive threat (Psychic / WoW / Taunt / Recover) and Abomasnow as an offensive one. Stallbreaker Mew is more dangerous to defensive teams than Renicules.
Scarf Abomasnow checks like half the metagame. It can actually 2HKO Tyranitar with Giga Drain after Stealth Rocks or OHKO with Focus Blast. With TTar gone most sand teams crumple to repeated Blizzards. It it able to bring rain teams to their knees by just spamming Giga Drain or Focus Blast. I guess its kind of dead weight against Sun but I guess you can catch Ninetales with an EQ. Hail teams suck but Abomasnow is very good (so build a team to capitalize on Hail ****ing with sand / rain instead of focusing on the hail itself.. in other words use Blizzard only on Abomasnow).
Blizzard
Giga Drain
Focus Blast
Earthquake / HP Fire / Ice Shard / Shadow Ball
Earthquake 2HKOs Ninetales but does little else. HP Fire shoots down Nattorei though it falls to repeated Blizzards as well. Ice Shard is a decent check to Salamence (no it does not OHKO) but is useless otherwise. Shadow Ball hits.. nothing that its STABs wont. Abomasnow has pretty great coverage with just three moves.
Uhh.. Maybe Victini as an offensive threat? Its 2HKOing the world with a V-Generate based mixed set. I cant't think of anything that can avoid massive damage from one of his moves.
Sure, added in Mew and Abomasnow to their respective places. Also added in another site (http://www.wishmkr.com/), which seems pretty interesting as well.
Oh, I didn't know V-create Victini was legal. Let me play around with it for a little longer then I'll add it in.
lol I love how it destroys even resistant Pokemon, especially in the sun. Yeah, people need to use this more... but it's so strong... I'm adding it in anyway.
edit: also did a swipe through most of the Pokemon with some edits, such as more clarifications and/or better EV spreads.
edit: removed wishmkr now that Smogon is back up. They should have the better sets to look for, though I'm leaving the link to the site in this post if you ever feel curious.

There are a couple of pokemon who I am shocked didn't make it onto this. They are:
Empoleon-Offensive
Mamoswine-Bulky
Chandelure-Not sure if it is on but don't think it is. If it is then sorry and shoot me.
Staraptor-Offensive
Wobuffet-Bulky/Staller
Umbreon-Bulky/Staller
Overall though, great guide, really useful and props to you!

I'm actually thinking of splitting some of the stuff out. I'd keep the Offensive and Defensive threats, but then I'll combine the "Uncommon" Pokemon, be it offensive or defensive, all into one category. I'll get to that someday.
Chandelure's on there. =)
Yeah, Blaziken's banned, so that's why it's not on there.
(When reading this, say it slowly through gritted teeth and with bugged-out eyes.) Don't remind me.
Blaziken should be proud, it got revenge on being UU last gen by savagely raping OU until it was banned. Sure it may not be OU this gen but instead it spends its time kickin' it with the gods of Pokemon.
Yes they are. They banned Swift Swim because Rain also boosts the water attack power, and having a boosted attack and insane speed is just plain broken.
Chlorophyll is not banned because Chlorophyll users are all grass types, with most cannot learn fire attacks save for HP [Fire].
The same applies to Sand Rush. Excadrill does not benefit from the SDef boost from SandStorm, and neither does Stoutland, or most SandRushers.
