Butterfree gets Quiver Dance.

yes, yes it does...and? as I have said, butterfree's weak points are 1) it's subpar speed and 2) its horrible physical defense...even if it does get quiver dance, i don't think it will be fast enough to pull it off like volcarona or bulky enough to take a hit, put the opponent to sleep and then set up like venomoth...with pokes like ferrothorn, skarmory, infernape, salamence, dragonite, lucario, etc. running around, butterfree will stay in NU of UU at best...

Don't you think it's a bad idea to use something like Butterfree in OU?

Just because a pokemon isn't good in OU, that doesn't mean it's terrible in every aspect. Maybe it can be good in those lower tiers.

But I'm just saying, I don't know if it's good or bad there.

Oh yes...4x weak to SR, 60/50/80 defenses, and 45/80 offenses will get it no where. Base 70 speed will get it constantly outsped :/

Maybe on the lower ladders of the PO server, it may work. It won't work on smogon server for sure.

So. Something to think about: Tropius.

It's new ability is Harvest which lets it reuse berries. Unfortunately it doesn't definitely harvest the berry every turn. It could still be used for Rest with a Chesto Berry. You could also use moves like Toxic to wear down opponents while you get mostly unlimited healing, throw in Hidden Power (Fire) for steels, and maybe Stab Energy Ball or Air Slash. Would that be worth using over the sets from the fourth gen pokemon of the week?

Are people even using Tropius as it is?
It sounds a bit risky with Rest and Chesto Berry if Harvest don't activate every turn.

I've neve used Tropius in battle but back in R/S I though it was one of the cooler looking Pokemon.

Well, there is only a chance of Harvest working but in the Sun it works 100% of the time, but I think Exeggutor would be a better user.

Yeah people aren't necessarily using Tropius as it is, it's just one of my favorite Pokemon. and thanks I didn't know it worked every time in sun.
Honestly though I think Tropius could do it better than Exeggutor now. As far as HP and Defense go they're more or less matched and Tropius has a much higher Special Defense. Exeggutor is only a little bit faster as well. Exeggutor is much more offensive though.

I think Tropius is awesome. She's my HM slave for Fly and Flash on Black, but still a powerful battler.

I love Tropius' design and typing (even though x4 ice weakness is a pain, but then, all the dragons have that), but her stats are pretty poor, and I don't entirely love her movepool.

I may use one in the distant future (R/S/E remakes...?), but then I also wanted to raise a new Salamence, and there's really no competition between the two if it comes down to one free team slot.

His movepool is pretty poor for an almost unique typing but it's like many grass Pokémon, grass, posion and normal and in his case, flying.

Same! I never cared for it when it first was introduced, but since then I've really gained a liking for it. I wish it would have been in Sinnoh, I'd have loved to use it on my team.

Haha I don't generally restart old games, they end up unfinished. I kind of hate my version of Pearl though, and I've thought about it, but idk. Maybe someday! :P
