I actually Think an Adamant flawless Munchlax that is shiny and has PKRS in DPPt is rarer than that.

But kids need to be exposed to that so they can learn these type of things early and become less... you know.

I think the first post of the thread clearly outlines what can be discussed in this thread and that its not open for game speculation.

If a mod wants to infract me for minimodding I don't mind tbh. If I wanted to speculate on the next game I'd go to the appropriate thread- I just want to discuss the Pokemon themselves here.

Yikes! Calm down, guys. Let me try to explain.

This thread was intended to be used as a catch-all for the various spammy Pokemon topics people try to create, yes. It was conceived as a Pokemon discussion, meaning the actual creatures themselves. But it has grown into a sort of "general Pokemon chat" thread, meaning whatever aspects of the Pokemon universe/franchise that don't seem to belong anywhere else can be taken up in here.

Granted, I could have infracted for off-topic discussion or misplaced comments, but I thought everyone would enjoy this thread, and this section, more if they had a place to speak their minds (within reason).

Some of you are right, though, that certain topics just don't belong here. When this thread gets flooded by stuff like Eeveelution names/types, Other Pokemon Games-style speculation/wishlists, or other spammy one-liners or dead horse topics, it's on the wrong track. This thread is a privilege, and if it gets misused, it will be taken away. (Note: I do hope Golden Pure, the original artist behind this thread, is okay with my liberal interpretation. =P)

We're doing okay, though. A special kudos to you lot who actually post interesting paragraphs. =)

I get fed up of the Smogon bashing on here. Smogon don't force their opinions on anyone. They make tiers/banlists in what they consider the most reasonable and unbiased, not to mention democratic way, and it just happens that because they're so good at it most competitive battlers listen to them and follow their rules. Smogon is not one hive mind tyrant forcing anyone to do anything.

I agree, sort of. But it seems to me that the anger here isn't directed at Smogon so much as it is the handful of people who actually do try to push Smogonesque ideas as law.

You made some great points about the objectivity and usefulness of Smogon's work, though. And I'll just add that training Pokemon in line with Smogon-derived standards is in fact fun for some people. Just as fun as training Pokemon with no focused goals or strategies. Neither holds the sole claim to intelligence and neither holds the sole claim to fun.

BTW, is anyone ticked off about how they edited out the male swimmer's speedo?

Yes. Those Swimmers didn't deserve to be pantsed. Or Speedoed. Nobody wants to see shriveled Swimmer crotch anyway. Put the Speedos back on, Gamefreak! For the children!

I wasn't bashing Smogon, tehy're great. It just annoys me when some people try and force it down your throat and say you have to listen Smogon and play competitively.

And oh god, I hated getting Munchlax. I just gave up and traded un the end.

Smogon itself is not a hivemind, the hivemind is made up of the people who praise it as the gospel and claim it is the only way to play. Even worse when said people call it strategy. I thought strategy required thinking for yourself. As a guideline and for some help the info there isn't bad but copypasting it every time you train something kind of makes you boring.

Less than that. It's 1% but only in certain trees and those trees are based on your ID and SID iirc. So there is also the factor of hoping you didn't miss the trees that could have given you a munchlax. ._. This is why I just transferred my snorlax from Leaf Green. D:

I absolutely adore Jellicent. <3 I love its special defense! Plus its Water/Ghost typing is something I've been waiting for, for a VERY long time... Now all they need is a Grass/Ghost... Anywho, its cry is cool too; It sounds like bubbles... So yeah. My favorite Pokemon now is officially Jellicent!

Oh, yes. Haxy Togekiss with Ominous Wind, Thunder Wave, Air Slash and Tri Attack is murder. With Serene Grace.

My Tri-Attacking Togepi came with Hustle :S ..And it's Adamant XD

But it took so much to get to the end of XD that I didn't want to go all the way back to try getting another one :3 So I trained it Attack and still managed to get 150 Special Attack at lv. 50(which is fair enough by me :B) and 79 Physical. The only Physical move it has is Aerial Ace because it's the only move I trust on a Togekiss with Hustle :S Other than that is has Tri-Attack, Aura Sphere and an empty fourth slot ^^;

I never knew Togekiss could learn Tri Attack.

I started to EV one in Soul Silver, but never got around to finishing. It was supposed to replace my Noctowl, but tehn I got White and never bothered.

^You can get a Shadow Togepi from the post-game of XD: Gale of Darkness that will know it when it's purified.

I've actually got like 6 different Togekiss XD My first one from the wild in Diamond, the one from Cynthia, the one from SoulSilver, the one from XD, and two that I got from trades :3

I've never used a Togekiss, but I will end up using one if I ever continue my Platinum Scramble Challenge. It's not a Pokemon that I would pick for a team, but now that it's been chosen for me, the line isn't that bad (minus Togepi, who is horrible).

Togekiss is pretty good and with roost plus the air slash aura sphere is goood. It has a decent amount of moves to choose from to me, miju.

Togekiss is the best normal/flying type hands down. Flinchhax Air Slash, Aura Sphere, Flamethrower, what more could you ask?
