Good Luck Moment: Just now, I encountered a shiny Espeon on my Leafgreen cartridge. This is the first time I've seen a shiny on that cartridge, and only the second shiny I've found in a Gen III game.

Bad Luck Moment: That same Espeon belonged to a Trainer. First time I have EVER encountered a shiny in-game trainer Pokemon. Also the first time I've ever had to KO a shiny that didn't belong to a human. It was heartbreaking and at the same time...cool. xD

    - trading a lvl 1 emolga for a lvl 1 gible, and the gible turned out to be a female DW with outrage and earthquake.
    - the shiny dratini from benga having an adamant nature
    - encountering a shiny magikarp randomly
    - completely sweeping benga's team

Oh, I remember that Espeon on Firered.

I think that one was locked as a shiny, like the Gyarados at the lake of rage.

Good luck: discovering that there was a free shiny Dratini once you defeat Benga.
Someone traded me a shiny Darkrai for a pokemon which I don't remember...

Bad luck: discovering that the Dratini was a male and the gender was locked as a male after I went through all the trouble getting it (him).

Good Luck: When I started the IV breed for my Impish Skarmory with Brave Bird and Roost, the Spearow I was breeding Egg moves over miraculously had the Impish nature. That saved me about 15-30 minutes of breeding!

Bad Luck: Never encountering a Shiny, but when my brother borrowed my Platinum, he found a green Zubat right off the bat. T_T

Being on the eighth floor of the White Tree Hollow and battling the boss trainer with three remaining Pokemon, two of which were badly injured. Little did I know his third was a Thunderus. Luckily, it used Rain Dance twice in a row, allowing my final partner, Golurk, to Rock Slide it twice. Best luck I've had in a while.
I am not worried, Harry. I am with you.

You'd think they'd make trainers there more intelligent...

Good luck: Got early shinies from re, sr, mm or chaining. Winning many battles.
Bad luck: old shiny hunts refuse to shine, lost shiny. Lost battle to weaklings.

I was battling iris in white 2 and she sent out haxsourus and my flotzel was on low hp and I used an ice beam to try and land a critical but instead I got haxsourus frozen I was like :O I used ice beam and defeated it.
    Pretty good moment

Bad Pokemon moment in pearl I was battling uxie and sent out abmosnow and because of his ability it started to hail anyway I finally got its hp to red and started hurling ultra balls at it until the hail knocked it out and since I didn't save before battling it I never caught until white 2 where I caught it in Nacrene city

Good Luck: Catching Tornadus with one Quick Ball at full health, on my first encounter with it.

Bad Luck: Critical Hit Mega Punch from Giovanni's Kangaskhan OHKO'ing my starter. Bad luck is much worse in a Nuzlocke.

I just caught Virizion in green health with an Ultra Ball. Doesn't sound too lucky unless it was a PokéBall (and it was in complete full health, it had a little bit of damage), but this is the first time that I can think of (though I swear I caught a Rayquaza in a PokéBall, though it was in red health) where I caught a Legendary in full health. So lucky me, I suppose.

A bad luck was finding a shiny Onix in Diamond, and used my weakest Pokémon's weakest move that was a Fire-type move, and it somehow managed to get a critical hit enough to KO it :/.

Speaking of shinies, my first good luck was finding my very first shiny Pokémon, a Ponyta in Silver at Mount Silver. Bad luck is it fled. Though ten years later, I'm at Mount Silver on my SoulSilver and I run into a shiny Rapidash, which I just managed to capture at sliver of health, and poisoned. Couldn't do that again if I tried.

I guess a bad luck moment for me was when my DS died after an hour of playing through Victory Road on White 2 without saving. But when I restarted, I found a shiny Audino. ^_^

Good Luck: Got a few more shinies, and won the Black Tower and White Treehollow...
Bad Luck: Finishing Black Tower only to discover you couldn't get the shiny Gible in White 2.
Oh and getting lost in both versions of the Tower/Treehollow...as usual

I've had a BUNCH of lucky moments, but my luckiest would've been in Leafgreen. (My first game)
I was facing Blue as the champion, and he and I both had one Pokemon left. He had his Venusaur and I had my Blastoise, and Venusaur kept using Solarbeam.
I only had one Full Restore left, and I used it when Blastoise was about to faint. Venusaur had half of its HP left.
Anyways, Venusaur was charging up it's Solarbeam and my Blastoise used Bite, and it was a critical hit, but didn't take down Venusaur.
    Lucky for me, Venusaur flinched!
And one more Bite took it down.

My luckiest moment was my first playthrough of Black in which I caught a Shiny Audino when I first started encountering rustling grass. It was the first Audino I battled, and I managed to catch it.

In white version, I caught kyruem with just one dusk ball! It did have red h.p., but no status conditions. That was awesome, but it actually gets crazier- a few months later while I was starting to battle palkia in platinum, I thought of telling my cousin, who was right next to me, about the awesome thing that happened with kyruem. I then joked what if that like happens again with palkia now as I threw my first ultra ball (I thing it was already red h.p. and also asleep though), and I caught it! We both laughed like crazy. Yeah, you heard me, beware of my psychic powers all of you lol jk XD :P

Don't get me wrong, I've done a million stupid things. This isn't the worse one, but a funny thing that happened in soul silver was, I was battling the shiny garados and wanted to catch it. I had my aipom out, and I accidentally clicked "run" (thanks to not being able to go directly up from "run" to "fight" with the control pad).....but actually, funny thing is the gyrados was higher levelled than aipom, so it probably would have stopped it...if only aipom didn't have the ability run away, lol. And I think the fact that it said something like "aipom got away using run away" confirms that gyrados would have stopped it otherwise. Oh well, not the biggest deal though. A slightly worse incident was when in black 2 I was trying to catch virizon, and the battle took so long it fainted itself with struggle! Actually, I think that happened with registeel too. But I did reset for both of those, however.

For me?(ummmmmm) Good Luck: Lets go with the time that i beat the sinnoh elite 4(on diamond) in one run, no losses, and only a couple faints.

Bad Luck: When my dad used my Master Ball on Sapphire on a Tentacool..... Kyogre took forever to catch....

When I was 8, I was still toying with trying to defeat the E4.
Charizard, Pidgeott, Zapados, Hypno, Dragonite, and Marowak (and some subs) finally got through. Dragonite and Charizard did most of it. For the first time ever, I reached Gary. I defeated all of his Pokes with only my Charizard and no revives (also happened for most of E4). He threw out his last one, Blastoise. I have half-HP, in the yellow. He uses Hydro Pump over and over. I spam Flamethrower, it's all I have left (last move with PP). I have 2HP, and and he has yellow. He uses Hydro Pump. MISS! I use Flamethrower. Critical-Hit, defeats Blastoise! ... Level 100! Then, I heal, get into hall of fame, Oak yells at Gary for being dumb, and I head to capture Mewtwo. On the way, I find a shiny Spearow. YAY! I get into the cave, and get Mewtwo with the Masterball and a Critical-Capture. HAHA!Mission succesful.

Leaf Green has a bug which made the roaming pokémon disappear after you first met them, this was an unlucky occurence when I didn't know about this and tried to weaken said pokémon first not knowing it would never appear again. True story :P
