Other than Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees is the best QB.

It wasn't pretty, but at least the Saints got it done.

But the Lions were ridiculous with all those penalties.

You can't justpost that without an argument. I think Brady is better, now prove Brees is better.

That's mostly bull. An upset happens everyone once in a while but it's usually the favorites that win.

The Ravens just play down to their competition. It's entirely their fault for losing.

The key word there is can. Thanks to the salary cap, free agency, the draft, etc., the talent distribution is fairly balanced in the NFL. Teams that are "favored" are usually only a few notches better than their opponent on paper. Lopsided favorites are uncommon, especially when the outliners (like the perfect Packers and Colts) are removed. Compare that to college football, where it's more of the rich-get-richer system and the tallent difference is rather noticeable.

I am kind of suprised the Giants did not win against the Packers. I remember the super bowl when we made the 18-0 Patriots 18-1

I honestly didn't think they stood a chance but it was a good game.

    Thanks Kaiser for the point-proving.

Rule #1 of gambling: do not bet against an NFL team with a 17 (now 18)-game winning streak :P

Can't believe the Chiefs got the win. The play right before halftime was pretty cool- nice to finally get another TD, even if it was in a flukey way. Orton got hurt after one play- maybe the Chiefs will pickup McNabb.

    Me too.

Screw it... I guess I'll just have to face that the Packers will go into the playoffs undefeated.

Ha, just remembered the score in the Giants/Patriots game to end the regular season in 2007.

I'd take South Carolina, simply because they play in the SEC. Plus, I think Nebraska is somewhat overrated.

I'm curious about that. Like what the percentage is of betting favorites that win.

I'd have to find a place that lists the favorites, though. Anyone know of one?

I'm hearing that on ESPN right now. I wish they'd just give it up- seems like they want to send him to every team with QB troubles.

That's cute. All of those things you mentioned theoretically keep things balanced but as we see every year, it doesn't do much aside from keeping a bunch of teams mediocre while the great teams stay that way thanks to bad organizations. Realistically, how many upset occur that often? You don't hear of many do you? Because bad aren't going to beat good teams unless the good team has a bad game or plays down to the competition.

It's roughly 47%-50% of betting favorites that cover. Depending on who you ask.

In 2005 the worst teams were the Saints, and the Texans. The best teams were the Colts and the Seahawks.

Yeah, the NFL lives on Parity.
