Zexiontwo, take an Oddish. If it is male, it must evolve into Bellossom. If it is female, then Vileplume. You must catch the first one you find. It must learn and keep Cut and Sweet Scent. To evolve into Gloom, it must defeat thirty Pokemon found by use of Sweet Scent.

Oh, and yes, you can get the Slugma before the first gym.
