I finally got the nerve to challenge Liza and Tate at the Mossdeep City Gym. It was a double battle, and they sent out their Solrock and Lunatone. I used Roselia and Cacturne, and the battle began. I had Roselia use Magical Leaf on Solrock, and then I had Cacturne use Needle Arm on Lunatone. Both Pokemon took damage, but things weren't over yet. Roselia was hit by a strong Psychic attack from Lunatone, and then it was hit by a Flamethrower attack from Solrock. She fainted, so I sent out Ludicolo. I had it use Surf, and that did major damage. Liza and Tate healed their Solrock, but Cacturne was able to knock out their Lunatone with Needle Arm. Solrock used Psychic on Ludicolo, but Ludicolo defeated it with another Surf attack. I won the battle, and I got the Mind Badge from Liza and Tate.

    Current team:

    - Sceptile level 43
    - Ludicolo level 42
    - Breloom level 40
    - Roselia level 40
    - Cacturne level 42
    - Tropius level 39

I feel really bad about the way my battle with Juan ended. I ended up stalling Kingdra until it had to use Struggle and knock itself out. Even though it isn't the coolest way to win....I will still take my 8th badge! I AM THE WATER TYPE MASTER OF HOENN!!!!!! But there is still more to do.

I went to the Trick House and used the Double Battles as training for Relicanth and Walrein. I then went around all the Waterfalls of Hoenn and grabbed a few Rare Candies which I plan to use later. I flew to Pacifidlog and battled all the trainers East of the town. I didn't bother with the trainers west because of the rapids, but I did grab the Rare Candy. I went back to the Magma Hideout and began training my team there since you can only find Geodude, Graveler, and Torkoal there. Swampert is what I am primarily training, followed by Relicanth.

It had to faint some how.

I felt like my team was ready so I headed for Victory Road. I forgot you fight Wally in the first room on Emerald so that caught me off guard but I still beat him. Some of the trainers in Victory Road proved difficult, as did not using Flash. Pelliper and Wailord both fainted fairly early on so I had to rely on Swampert, Ludicolo, Walrein, and Relicanth to get me through it. The last Double Battle was extremely difficult because of Slaking but Swampert and Walrein saved me barely. Soon I was outside of Victory Road and inside Ever Grande City ready to take on the Elite 4! After some training of course.

What would be my best bet's if I were to do a scramble on Emerald without trading? (Trying to keep my options going. I'm really tempted to do 2/3 of these at once.)

After picking up the Mind Badge from the Mossdeep City Gym, I headed over to the local Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon. Afterwards, I decided that I might as well head back to Mauville City to pick up my Lileep from the Day Care Center, since I figured that it would serve as a great Pokemon on my team. I withdrew it, and I left Roselia at the Day Care Center instead. I then departed to Mossdeep City again where I stocked up on items. I headed to the coast, and I Surfed around the sea a bit. I battled tons of trainers while I explored the new sea routes, then I had to use Dive to chase after Team Aqua's stolen submarine. I got to a Dive spot, and I went underwater to start the hunt. I saved after collecting some items.

    Current team:

    - Sceptile level 44
    - Ludicolo level 42
    - Breloom level 41
    - Cacturne level 42
    - Tropius level 41
    - Lileep level 38

I stocked up on healing items, taught my Water types a few TM's, and I was ready to roll.

Wailord started the battle with Sidney. One Water Spout later and Mightyena was out. He sent in Cacturne so I sent in Pelliper. It took a Wing Attack and Fly to defeat Cacturne. Wailord used Water Spout and took out Absol. Crawdaunt fell to a Fake Out/Giga Drain from Ludicolo and Shiftry was defeated by the Wing Attack/Fly combo of Pelliper. I healed and moved on.

Phoebe was next and her first Dusclops fell to a single Water Spout. I tried out Relicanth against her Banette but Thunderbolt made quick work of Relicanth. I sent in Walrein but Banette knocked it out with a critical hit Thunderbolt. Swampert was next and took it out with an Earthquake. I tried Wailord again against her second Dusclops and after a few Water Pulse's Dusclops was down. She used Banette so I used Swampert. It took a single Earthquake to knock out Banette and two Surfs to take out Sableye.

Glacia started with Sealeo so I used Relicanth and took it out. She used Walrein next and it unfortunately landed a Sheer Cold on Relicanth. I switched to Ludicolo and after a few Giga Drain's Walrein was out. Swampert took out both Glalie's with Earthquake and Walrein used Body Slam a few times against her last Sealeo to secure me my third win.

I started off the battle with Drake with Relicanth but soon switched to Swampert to Ice Beam Shelgon into defeat. He sent in Altaria but an Aurora Beam from Walrein took it out. Next was Salamence but fortunately Walrein scored a critical hit Blizzard on it. Swampert defeated Kingdra and Walrein disposed of Flygon.

I once thought that I was the WATER TYPE MASTER of Hoenn but unfortunately that wasn't the case as I came face to face with Wallace. Ludicolo started off with a Fake Out/Giga Drain combo against his Wailord. Next Swampert used a single Earthquake against Tentacruel. Pelliper got sent out against his Ludicolo and managed a quick win with the help of Aerial Ace. He sent in Milotic while I used Relicanth. I got a Yawn in and it fell asleep. He switched to Whiscash and it knocked out Relicanth. Ludicolo was sent out again and beat it with Giga Drain. Swampert used Earthquake against his Milotic and defeated it. Gyarados was his last Pokemon so I had to use a combined effort of Ludicolo, Wailord, and Swampert before it fell. I AM THE WATER TYPE MASTER OF HOENN!!!!!! I watched the credits roll on my fourth completed Monotype challenge!

    Final Team

Hope you all enjoyed reading this monotype challenge! I plan on starting my next 3rd Gen Monotype Challenge later today.

I continued to travel underwater until I found the entrance to the Seafloor Cavern at the end of the trench. I used Dive again, and I resurfaced inside the antichamber. I made my way through the first cavern, but I also had to battle some Team Aqua grunts along the way. I then arrived at another cavern, and I had to use Surf to get to the other side. I also had to traverse the currents, which was a lot harder than I had anticipated. I eventually reached another cavern with Team Aqua grunts, and I battled them before moving on. I healed my Pokemon with Super Potions, then I used Strength to push some boulders out of the way, and I arrived at Kyogre's lair. Archie appeared suddenly, and he challenged me to a battle.

So my next monotype is going to take place in FireRed again so I needed to decide on a type that would make for an interesting and different playthrough. So I decided on the Electric type.

I started off the adventure with a Bulbasaur so that my rival would have 3 Flying types in his final team. I got the Pokedex etc and eventually headed up to Viridian Forest. It didn't take too long to find my first team member, a Pikachu! Pikachu and I went back to Route 1 and began training. After getting it to level 7 I decided to try out a rival battle. Pikachu quickly disposed of Pidgey and slowly defeated Charmander thanks to Thunder Wave and Thundershock. After the battle it was off to Viridian Forest where Pikachu took on all the bug type trainers. I took a break after reaching Pewter City.

Archie sent out his Mightyena when the battle began, and I countered that with Breloom. I was able to defeat Mightyena with Breloom's Mach Punch attack, then I used Lileep against Archie's Crobat. I was able to weaken Crobat, but I had to switch out to Sceptile in order to defeat it. I then sent out my Ludicolo, and I battled against Archie's Sharpedo. I managed to defeat Sharpedo with Giga Drain, then I defeated Archie. After the battle, Kyogre suddenly disappeared from the pool, and Archie got a call from a Team Aqua grunt who was talking about the sudden rain outside. We headed out too, and Steven Stone was there. He told me about Kyogre's rampage, and I set sail for Sootopolis City in order to stop it inside the Cave of Origin.

    - Ludicolo level 43

Pikachu got a little more training in before I decided to go to the Pewter Gym. It took me a little while to defeat the only trainer in the gym but Pikachu managed a win. I healed, stocked up on Potions, and went to battle Brock. I will start off by saying that I had 17 Potions before the battle and 2 afterwards. His Geodude proved to be difficult because it would not stop using Defense Curl. Seriously. It barely used Tackle. I was honestly about to throw my DS at a wall out of frustration but then I got a lucky critical hit on Geodude that did a decent amount of damage. Onix was the complete opposite of Geodude. That thing never missed Rock Tomb which made getting in a Tail Whip hard. Luckily Onix doesn't have a +Defense move and Brock doesn't use Potions so I was able to eventually Quick Attack Onix to death. What an awful battle. But I won, so I continued on.

I got the Running Shoes from an aid and then went and made my way through Route 3. The trainers on this Route were so easy compared to Brock. I trained in the grass for a little while and then headed into Mt Moon where I beat the first few trainers. Pikachu is Lv19 at the moment.

I don't think she will be seeing as I will have more electric Pokemon by then and also more varied attacks.

I managed to defeat every trainer along the first floor of Mt Moon minus the hiker. I then went and defeated the lone Rockets in their various rooms. Pikachu managed to grow quite a few levels against all of these trainers. Eventually I was fighting the last opponent and Pikachu barely pulled it out against his Grimer, Voltorb, and Koffing due to Poison Gas hitting back to back to back. I exited the cave and taught Pikachu Mega Punch via the move tutor and headed into Cerulean City.

The first stop was the gym. Pikachu had an excellent advantage against these Water types. Misty proved no challenge. Staryu fainted after a single Thundershock and Starmie took two Thundershocks to defeat. With my second badge I headed towards the Nugget Bridge...but I was caught off guard by my rival. Pidgeotto, Rattata, and Abra went down quickly but Charmander took a little time to defeat. I beat him and headed onto the Nugget Bridge. I started beating the 5 trainers when Pikachu grew to Lv26 which is when it learns Thunderbolt. I thought I had the marker over Thundershock but it was actually over Mega Punch. I had the move for all of 15 minutes. I beat the Rocket at the end of the bridge and saved.

I Surfed around the sea towards Sootopolis City, and I battled some of the Swimmers in the area. My Lileep finally evolved into Cradily after a few battles, and then I used Dive to go underwater again. I resurfaced in the middle of Sootopolis City, and I headed to the local Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon before the big battle. I then Surfed across the lake, and I arrived at the other end of Sootopolis City. I met up with Steven again, and I was given the task of entering the Cave of Origin to stop Kyogre's rampage. I entered the cave, and I battled against some of the wild Pokemon inside. I eventually reached the end of the cave, and I battled against Kyogre. I was able to defeat it using Sceptile, and then the crisis ended when it fainted. I headed back outside, and I saved before going to the Sootopolis City Gym.

I cleared out all of the trainers on Route 25 and arrived at Bill's house. After I helped him he gave me the SS Ticket. So I went back to Cerulean and defeated the Rocket Grunt and got the Dig TM which I taught to Pikachu. Soon I was underground on my way to Vermillion. I beat a few trainers north of the city before healing my team and heading for the SS Anne. I used Pikachu against every trainer on board including my rival who was no match for my Lv34 Pikachu. I grabbed the Cut HM and departed the boat. Instead of going to the Vermillion Gym I decided I had another destination in mind.

I went back to Cerulean City and went west thanks to Cut. I tried to skip as many trainers as I could. Eventually I was at the patch of grass I needed to be at. I encountered a Voltorb on my first try and captured it before returning to Cerulean. I healed up and went back to Vermillion. I trained up Voltorb for a little while before tackling the gym. Pikachu managed an easy win against the trainers thanks to Dig. I solved the stupid puzzle and took on Lt Surge. Voltorb took on Voltorb but unfortunately my Voltorb fell to a critical hit Shock Wave. So Pikachu had to come in and sweep the rest of his team with Dig to earn me the badge.

I went through the Diglett's Cave and got the Flash HM from the Oak Aide before going back to Cerulean. Soon I was off to the Rock Tunnel, but not before beating everyone I could along the way. After I healed my team I saved in front of the tunnel.

I entered the Sootopolis City Gym after healing at the Pokemon Center, and I started making my way towards Wallace. I walked on the ice, but then I realized that it would be a lot smarter to challenge the Gym trainers within the Gym, just for a little extra experience. I broke through the ice, and I battled the Gym trainers down below. I managed to defeat a few of them before I had to leave to heal my Pokemon again. I returned to the Gym, and I fought the last Gym trainers. I then proceeded to walking towards Wallace again through the icy floors. I reached the end of the Sootopolis City Gym, and I saved the game before challenging Wallace since my game's battery was dying on me again.
