Well I started out properly after doing that bit with May and picking your first pokemon. The first pokemon I encounted was a Wurmple. I catched it and decided it would be fun to either have Dustox or a Beautyfly. Route 102 gave me a Poochyena. After I cleared all the pokemon there I went to Petalburg city and met with my dad, who helped wally get his Ralts. If I only didn't get that poochyena! :P

After all that I went to Route 104. I got myself a Maril. And battleing those trainers made my Wurmple evolve into a Silcoon. After fighting through the petalburg woods and not encountering a non-dublicate pokemon yet. I arrived at route 104 (north) and got myself a shiny TM. After route 104 I finally arrived at Rustboro city. I decided I should train my pokemon a bit on route 116, while I did that my Silcoon evolved into a beautyfly, and I got mysel a Tailow. After I finished training I challenged the Rustboro gym and easily took care of it, evolving my Treecko in the progress.

    EDIT1:

I helped out Devon and got myself a Whismur in the Rusturf cave. I got a PokeNav. (And another great ball! ^_^) I defeated May. And I went back and captured A Shroomish in petalburg woods. I also remembered that I didn't get a pokemon from 103. (mainly because I didn't visited it yet)I restocked on potions and pokeballs in Petalburg City I went back and took the boat to Dewford Town. I talked with the Fisherman to get an old rod. After that I healed my pokemon at the Pokemon Center and I saved.

    EDIT2:

I decided to fish a bit. I got myself a Magikarp in Dewford and a Tentacool in Route 106. (bit of land east of dewford). I went inside the Granite Cave and got myself a Makuhita. (Ironicly I accidently reseted but for some reason I saved before the cave so lucky me! and I got makuhita twice as my first pokemon ). I traveled across the cave with little difficulties and I gave Steven the letter. I went back to Dewford town I healed my pokemon and went inside the gym.

I defeated all the trainers there but then I got to the gym leader I decided to just go for it. So I did. I let my Beautyfly sweep him. Then I got to his last pokemon I needed one more hit but he defeated my Beautyfly. I switced in my Grovyle and with a quick attack I defeated Brawly but at what cost. So I had to decide what pokemon(s) to fill up the spot. I decided to go with two new ones which I'll train. I chose for Makuhita and Taillow. But they had to catch up so I decided to train both of them at the Granite Cave to match Grovyle a bit more.

EDIT 3: wow still no new posts? Anyway I went to Slateport defeated all the people at the beach. Defeated team Aqua at the museum and went to route 110, where I got myself an Elektrike. I went to challenge May who wasn't really that hard. On my way to Mauvile city my Taillow evolved into a Swellow.
I trained arround the city and got an Oddish. While training my Makuhita evolved into a Hariyama. After being done with training I challenged the gym my Grovyle took care of his first 2 pokemons. My Hariyama defeated his Magneton and Manectric.

So while we wait for the release of B2W2 state side in exactly 5 days, 8 hours, 49 minutes of me posting this, I've decided to Nuzlocke my Sapphire cart, despite a non-functioning clock. Here we go!

    Rules
    - If a Pokemon faints, it's considered dead and permaboxed.
    - Only one capture per route, city, or town.
-- If I meet a duplicate on a new route, I am given one more chance for a new pokemon. Two duplicates in a row on the same route, no new capture.
    - Trading is allowed for evolving.
    - Nicknames must be given.
    - Battle mode shall be locked on 'Set'

And so it begins! The last Nuzlocke I've done on an RSE cart of recent memory was an Emerald file that ended well with only a few deaths.

    Name: Joey
    Trainer OT: 03616
    Badges: 3
    Time: 10:27

Started the file, picked the boy, and named myself Joey. Talked to Mom, met May seemingly for the first time (again), and met Prof. Birch on Route 101. Picked Mudkip♂, named George, and defeated the Poochyena handily. Defeated May on Route 103, and got the Poke Balls. Route 101 gave me Zigzagoon♂ named Scavenger (what a surprise), caught it. Trained George some, got some free Super Potions from Scavenger, and caught a Poochyena on Route 103 named Nibbles. Route 102 was a Lotad named Jalapeno, but I was really hoping for a Ralts. Taught Wally how to catch a Pokemon, and headed for Petalburg Woods. Route 104, Zigzagoon appeared twice in a row, so I added another Zigzagoon♀, named Nuisance, to my reserve box. Petalburg Woods was more kind to me, but not by much. Caught a Wurmple there, named Wormy. Caught a Slakoth to trade for the Makuhita, named Makit, in Rustboro City, and caught a Taillow, named Royal, on Route 116. Rusturf Tunnel surprisingly gave me a Whismur, named Boombox, and with all my available captures made, I grinded some of them up, and swept the Gym with George, who evolved after Roxanne. After that, I helped out Mr. Briney, and forced him to give me a ride to Dewford Town. There, I headed to Granite Cave, catching a Zubat♂ named Trollbat (simply because I wanted an Aron), and gave the letter to Steven. Healed up, hit the Gym, and beat Brawly easily with a combination of Robin and Wormy. After that, I went to Slateport City, beating the trainers on the beach, and Team Aqua in the museum. Caught an Electrike♀, named Tempest, on Route 110, and grinded that up. Trained my team, beating the trainers on the way to Mauville City. Caught a Roselia♂, named Lettuce on Route 117, Timid and Natural Cure to boot! Beat the trainers, and George swept the Gym, no sweat. Caught a Geodude♂, named Cannon, on Route 111 using Rock Smash. Caught a Numel♀, named Lumpy on Route 112, and then a Grimer♂, named Lavender, in Fiery Path. Boxed Nibbles the Mightyena♀ and Wormy the Dustox♂ in lieu of Lettuce the Roselia♂, and Bumpy the Numel♀. Headed north towards Fallabor Town, catching a Sandshrew♂, named Digger, on Route 113. I caught a Swablu♀, named Cashmere, on Route 114, and a Lunatone named Crescent in Meteor Falls, where I met Team Aqua again. Dispatched Team Aqua at Mt. Chimney, caught a Machop♀, named Brawler, on Jagged Pass. But lo and behold, Death has finally caught up with me. While grinding Lettuce, I accidently switched in Bumpy against a rival Numel that smacked me with a Magnitude 9. RIP Bumpy, we barely knew ye. Welcome back Nibbles, your Intimidate ability should come in handy against Norman.

    Team
    ♂ - George, Lv30
    ♀ - Nibbles, lv30
    ♂ - Makit, Lv30
    ♀ - Azul, Lv30

Default Day 1 of Ruby Version Nuzlocke, XR

So, before this turns into a journal, I guess I'll do the introduction with my character name. I'm a boy (in real life and in the game) and my character's name is Hydro. I'll be using the usual Nuzlocke rules. Also, some other rules that I'm not sure if they're considered "the usual Nuzlocke rules" or not.
    - All Pokemon have to be nicknamed.
    - First Pokemon in each Route/Area, no exceptions, other than Shinies

    Day 1 in Hoenn
After a short journey to our house from the boat in the back of the moving truck, we were at our new home, which is in Littleroot Town. My mother and I walked inside where some Machoke were placing some of our heavier things. I went upstairs into my room to set my clock and to check it out. I then went over to my desk. I read the short book about adventuring. I then took a Potion out of my PC. I felt like it would come in handy since I would be getting my first Pokemon today. I then went downstairs, just something about Petalburg Gym, the Gym that my Dad is the leader of, finished. My Mom suggested that I go over to Professor Birch's house to meet him.

After a short walk there, a woman greeted me (who I assume is Professor Birch's wife). She suggested that I go upstairs where their daughter who is about my age was. We talked for a little while, but she rushed out to help her Dad catch some wild Pokemon. I decided to follow her. At the exit to the town there was someone who said they he heard some noise a little ways away. He said that someone should go check it out, so I did. It was Professor Birch and he was being chased by a Poochyena! He told me to help him by using one of the PokeBalls in his bag. I choose the PokeBall with Mudkip in it and I let Mudkip out. Mudkip managed to knock out the Mudkip in two Tackles! After "saving" him, Professor Birch invited me to come with him in his lab, where we could talk more. So we went back there. As thanks for saving him, he left me keep the Mudkip! Professor Birch then suggested that I go and talk to May, his daughter, who was on Route 103. I went to go talk to her. After a little while of walking, and only encountering two wild Pokemon, which I ran away from, I made it to May. I talked to her, and she noticed the Pokemon that her Dad had given me. She then challenged me to a battle. She sent out her Treecko, while I sent out my Mudkip. After an intense little battle, Mudkip knocked out May's Treecko! Mudkip then looked stronger. (Lv. 6 and learned Mud-Slap) I had won my first battle against another trainer!

After talking, she headed back to the lab. I followed her. On our way back, Mudkip slapped some mud. He had used Mud-Slap! In Oldale Town, May told me to hurry and then she ran off towards Littleroot Town. In the lab, Professor Birch talked about me beating May and other things. He then gave me a PokeDex, which he talked about. He then talked about how May filled out her PokeDex. May then gave me five PokeBalls shortly after her Dad had given me the PokeDex. She then talked about how she wants to catch cute Pokemon with her PokeBalls. I headed north towards Route 101 but my Mom stopped me. She talked about a couple of things, and then she gave me some running shoes, which I put on right away. After a little bit more talk and me thanking her, she went back inside.

I headed north onto Route 102. I made it into Oldale Town after only running away from one wild Pokemon on Route 103. I went into the Pokemon Center where the Nurse Joy there healed my Pokemon for free! I thanked her and left. I then headed west onto Route 101. The first Pokemon that I found was a Lv. 3 male Wurmple. After Joseph used Tackle on the Wurmple twice, I threw a PokeBall at him. I caught him! I decided to name him Bug. I went back to the Pokemon Center to heal my two Pokmon. We then went back to Route 102 to train. Bug managed to knock out a Zigzagoon all by himself. I switched into Joseph as soon as the battle started with the second Zigzagoon, though, because Bug was kind-of low on health. Joseph beat the Zigzagoon after a couple of Tackles. Bug then looked stronger. (Lv. 4) We encountered a Poochyena next. I decided to switch to Joseph since I didn't want to risk Bug getting knocked out. After a couple of turns of Tackling each other, Mudkip knocked out Poochyena! Mudkip then looked stronger. (Lv. 7) We then went back to heal again. After Nurse Joy healed my Pokemon again, we went right back to training. We encountered a Poochyena, which weakened Bug to the point that I decided to switch Joseph in for him. Joseph finished him off with two more Tackles. We then went back to heal again. Once back on Route 102, we decided that we would challenge a trainer. We challenged Youngster Calvin. He sent out his Lv. 5 Zigzagoon while I sent out Bug, who was at Lv. 4. Shortly into the battle I decided to switch Joseph in for Bug. Joseph's third Mud-Slap knocked out the Zigzagoon. We had won! We decided to battle the next trainer without healing in-between. We battled Bug Catcher Rick. He sent out one of his two Lv. 4 Wurmple while I sent out mine. After his Wurmple just used String Shot on Bug, Bug managed to knock him out with Tackle. Wurmple then looked stronger. (Lv. 5 and learned Poison Sting) He then sent out his other Lv. 4 Wurmple. After three turns of his Wurmple using Tackle on Bug and Bug using Poison Sting on his Wurmple, I decided to switch Bug out for Joseph. Joseph knocked out his Wurmple with one Mud-Slap and then one Tackle. We had won! I then decided to go back to Oldale Town and heal my Pokemon. After Nurse Joy healed them I decided that we would stay here for the night. We got a room. We got ready for bed, well, mainly me. Now I'm writing this with Joseph and Bug watching me. Now to say good night to them and go to sleep.

    Overview:
Route 101: Counted the Poochyena from before
    Oldale Town: None
Route 103: Lv. 3 Female Wingull - No PokeBalls
    - Fought May and won
Route 102: Lv. 3 Male Wurmple - Caught and named Bug
Saved in Oldale Town's Pokemon Center

    Team:
    Joseph - Mudkip - Male
    Lv. 7
    Tackle

    Tackle
    String Shot
    Poison Sting

    Badges: 0
    PokeDex: 2

Sorry about the pretty big paragraph at the end. Also, I'm still working on the format. So hopefully it'll look better next time. Also, I think I'll switch from the more in-depth team look once next time too. Hopefully next time is tomorrow. I'm not sure yet, though. I'll see. Thanks for reading this!

Okay, starting an Emerald Nuzlocke, with the rules as follows:

A box shall be set aside as the Graveyard. If the Graveyard box fills and I lose one more pokemon, I have lost the challenge, due to my own negligence of my partners.
No purchasing of Repels or Healing Items. In addition, no usage of Repels (found healing items are fair).
First Pokemon rule includes pre-Rival. Duplicates of pokemon I've captured are excepted from the first pokemon rule, and are in fact forbidden from being captured.
Each floor of a cave/building with wild pokemon is a separate area. Interactable pokemon are considered part of the area, so if I encounter a wild pokemon on the way to the interactable I want, I'm SOL.
I am allowed 1 singular HM Slave exempted from the rules of the challenge. If I use this, while it's in my team, it cannot be put in battle for any purpose. If it gets Roared/Whirlwinded in, I must retreat it immediately.
All pokemon are nicknamed when captured/obtained.
In-game trades are allowed, but count as the pokemon for that area (so no fishing/surfing later)
Gift pokemon also count as the pokemon for the area.
Challenge is completed when Wallace is defeated, and at least one pokemon, who is still alive, has won a Master-level contest. Challenge is failed if the above loss condition is met (or if my last living pokemon is killed, of course).

Anyway, I started, playing the female character (because I differentiate my challenge games by using the female trainer instead of male), named Dawn.
When Professor Birch needed help, I grabbed the ball containing Torchic, and fought it off. He was so grateful he let me keep the Torchic, who I named Flammy.

And with that, I was off to go meet Brendan. Upon arrival, I found he already had a Mudkip, and challenged me to a battle. It was a close one, due to the other battle along the way, but I just barely got the win.

    Pokemon for each route:
    Littleroot Town: Gifted.
    Route 101: Defeated.
    Route 103: Defeated.

    Team:
    Flammy, M, Lv6, Naughty
    Scratch
    Growl

Uhh, why not? Not using Repels doesn't really make the game harder at all. It just makes everything more time-consuming.
I don't know of anything good to put in my signature, so I guess I'll just tell you my teams. (for all the games I am playing now, at least)

It's been so long since I last played my Nuzlocke that I decided to just start over on LeafGreen. Modified rules: I can catch shinies and legendaries, but can't use them if they weren't the first encounter. There's one route split at the moment--I think it's Route 2 (before and after Viridian Forest). I don't think there'll be any others. Gift Pokemon aren't included in the total caught, and can be used. In addition, areas through which I have to go before actually being able to catch Pokemon are valid areas for catching Pokemon once I get Pokeballs.

Progress so far: I went through the standard beginning, picked a random number and ended up with Charmander as starter. Battled rival. Caught a level 3 Pidgey on Route 1, who died from a critical hit attack from a wild Ratatta . Caught a level 4 Mankey on Route 22.

    Current Team:
    Donny, level 4, male, jolly
    Char, level 8, male, rash

    Death Toll: 1

    Beck, female, lonely, lvl 3-4

I lost Donny and gained a Weedle (on Route 2 prior to Viridian Forest). I feel these early losses don't bode too well for the run.

    Char, level 8, male, rash

I caught a Weedle (Drill) on Route 2b. Derri evolved twice while I was grinding for Brock. When Char learned Metal Claw, I was optimistic--however, that move only made a marginal difference when it came to the actual battle. Char beat Geodude easily, but took a bad hit against Onix. Derri subbed in while Char restored HP, and I'm sad to say that she really took the hit for the team. She will be missed. As it was, I barely won with Charmander, who evolved into Charmeleon immediately after the battle.

After the battle, I managed to pull Drill up to level 12 before I took him out to Route 3. He was promptly slaughtered by a Rattata. However, I did manage to catch a Spearow (Cary). I went ahead and bought the Magikarp (Ingot) out of sheer desperation. While training Cary, I managed to run into four Pikachu in Viridian Forest. I've come to the realization that this run is trying to mock me. My most recent catch has been a Zubat (Nocte) in Mount Moon.

    Current Team:
    Ingot, level 6, female, gentle
Nocte, level 8, female naughty (?--my battery just died, so I'm going off memory there)
    Cary, level 15, female, naughty
    Char, level 19, male, rash

    Death Toll: 4

    RIP:
    Beck, female, lonely, lvl 3-4
    Donny, male, jolly, lvl 4-7
    Derri, female, gentle, lvl 4-15
    Drill, male, calm, lvl 3-12

    Default Zach's Pokémon Emerald Nuzlocke

Well, I decided to not make my playthrough a Nuzlocke anymore. I really like the Pokémon I have and don't feel like training up others if any of my current team members lose. Will be posting it all in the RSE Recent Happenings Thread. Not sure if I'll do a Nuzlocke in Generation III, or any other Pokémon game, in the future.

It's really "no repels until I've caught something on that route". So no using a bunch of repels to make sure my first encountered in an area is the interactable pokemon there.

Well, I decided a while back that I would begin concurrent Nuzlocke runs on Platinum and HeartGold when I finished the semester. That would put me down for a Nuzlocke in each region up through Gen IV except Kanto. Seeing as I finished one of my major papers for the semester tonight, I decided I might as well add a third Nuzlocke to the mix and begin a LeafGreen Nuzlocke tonight.

The rules for all three runs will be the usual Nuzlocke rules - first pokemon per area only (excepting any shiny pokemon, though if I encounter a shiny it will sit in the box until the aftergame), if it faints it is dead and will be banished to the dead box.

    A rundown so far:

I acquired my starter, Shellshock the Squirtle from Professor Oak and promptly curbstomped my rival's Bulbasaur like a boss.

After acquiring Pokeballs in Viridian City, I returned to Route 1 and caught myself a Pidgey, upon whom I bestowed the name Fluffyhead.

On Route 2 I happened upon a Mankey, caught it, and named it Punchy.

I am currently working on bringing Fluffyhead and Punchy to level with Shellshock before I fight my rival again on Route 2 and head north to the Viridian Forest.

    Update:

Got everyone to level 7, so now I am off to fight my Rival.

A number of missed Bubbles due to a single Sand-Attack meant Shellshock could not take care of my Rival's Pidgey quickly, and I had to use my potions to keep him going. Eventually, a critical tackle brought him too low, and I switched to Fluffy-head, who was able to KO the Pidgey, but was knocked out with a critical Tackle from the Rival's Bulbasaur after I landed a Sand-Attack on his first turn on the field put Fluffyhead down for good. Punchy was able to handle the situation, though, avenging Fluffyhead.

Rest in peace, Fluffyhead. You did well.

To the Viridian Forest! First pokemon there was a Weedle, level 3, Modest. Caught him, named him Eedle, and now I shall begin training him.

    Update:

So I got some training done evolved Eedle into a Kakuna, then I went to fight Brock, which was easy for Shellshock to handle. I then made my way to Mt. Moon, catching a Spearow on Route 3. I added her to my team and proceeded to train some, evolving Eedle again, before stepping into Mt. Moon and catching a Zubat I named Batso. I did some training, went through Mt. Moon and chose a Helix fossil for myself, though I am not sure yet whether I will revive it. I will see later, I suppose.

Found another Pidgey on Route 4, so I killed it, and trained some more to bring everyone to a level that could handle my Rival in Cerulean. Shellshock evolved and I went to battle my Rival. Easy victory, and the Nugget Bridge proved no problem either. Routes 24 and 25 both gave me Abra as my first pokemon, so I hucked a ball at each and hoped, but only got one shake of the ball before they broke free. So no Abra for me. I fought the trainers on Route 25 and helped Bill sort himself out, so now I am going to do final grinding before Misty's gym. I'd like to get Eedle to level 20, just so there's a third pokemon on my team that can land supereffective damage on Misty's Starmie.

    My team thus far:

    Shellshock: Male, level 19, Modest
    Punchy: Female, level 18, Jolly
    Eedle: Male, level 19, Modest
    Beaker: Female, level 17, Lonely
    Batso: Male, level 17, Sassy

    Dead:

    Fluffyhead: Female, level 7, Mild

I decided to do my Emerald Nuzlocke challenge over since I lost all my pokemon to Tate & Liza and did not feel like training the ones in the PC.

Currently I am an Dewford and going to train in the Granite Cave. Had no trouble with Roxanne. So far no deaths

    Marshtomp(Torrent) Lv. 19

    Lombre(Peso) Lv. 17

    Beautifly(Mozart) Lv. 17

    Whismur(Echo) Lv. 17

    Sableye(Bandit) Lv. 17

    PC

    Poochyena(Rottweiler) Lv. 12
    Wingull(Rain) Lv. 12
    Magikarp(Serpent) Lv. 9
    Magikarp(Azul) Lv. 8
    Magikarp(Skulkraken) Lv. 8
    Magikarp(Ophelia) Lv. 8

    Dead
    Taillow(Aquilla) Lv. 7-16
    Tentacool(Stingray) Lv. 5-8

    Update!!!

Took out the Dewford Gym but lost my poor Taillow(Aquilla) in the process. Taillow is just never gonna survive a Nuzlocke. Also, caught a Wingull and 2 Magikarps but not gonna use them.

    Update 2!!!

Just lost my Tentacool(Stingray) I just got!! Went to go look for more on routes I have not caught anything yet and got a bunch of Magikarp and for some reason they are all female.
