Hello everyone! I've been so inactive here and I guess I wanna stopped by.

About her flashback in BW: I was really happy to see her and Brock to have a flashback. I was really happy to see her more and I like how she was redrawn BW style (even though I still like her original version) Seeing her and heard her even in such a little time is really worth watching.

About the new Ending: Oh My Gee! I just love how everyone was there, old and new friends, and even rivals! I was even more happy when I saw the old gang there and also Misty!It's been a nostalgic thing to watch yet happy to see everyone else in it. I wonder if they are going to have a flashback? XD I just hope to see Misty have her own cameo in BW if ever that is possible.

It saddens me to see this place turning into wold with people stopping to come in here, and partially its my fault too for neglecting it due to other obligations and work.
I wish this club received more love being pity to see it gone way of previous ones.

Yeah i know what you mean ending was really fascinating and amazing. I loved how they gathered all of Ash previous friends, rivals etc holding hands together to form circle of unity and friendship there exists between them. It was such unexpected, pleasant surprise showing how writers still remember them.

Its also interesting how Misty was only Ash friend showed in original outfit which could have been done on purpose since new kids know her better that way getting familiar with character mostly through reruns of original series in case they watched it. Not to mention she is more iconic and recognizable that way for older generations which don't watch anime consistently too.
Another interesting detail is that aside from Ash, Misty was showed with most pokemon behind her.

If they show her in flashbacks of announced Butterfree episode too in speaking role again, i wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be writers way of foreshadowing and preparing young kids for her long awaited return.

There definitely exist multitude of reasons why Misty could return. She is very popular, many people miss her and her comeback could attract many of older generation fans toward this show increasing ratings, recapture interest from younger generations giving them better understanding in anime history as well go in correlation with BW2 games for further promotion being most iconic gym leader from Kanto saga along with Brock.

Not to mention her story never really received closure with her water master goal being left unfinished, along with desire to explore new water species becoming recognized by water experts never becoming reality. Added with several things being left unexplored and unanswered about her past,dreams, pokemon and ambitions offering room to be done more.

Anyhow to shake things up and bring more life and discussion ill start of things with new topic:

If Misty returns, do you think she might have new outfit and what you picture it could be like?

Usually when older character returns he receives new clothes, so its definitely possibility. So far we saw Misty in her AG outfit and attire from Luvdisc episode in chronicles as part of her regular clothes.

In case she gets new clothes i could see her wearing mix of blue and yellow being consisted of perhaps yellow top or shirt with jacket on it, shorts and either sneakers or boots as footwear.

I imagine her hairstyle would probably stay same, unless sisters somehow persuade her in letting hair down changing look which while i wouldn't mind looking great is doubtful. Beside i like her one sided ponytail look being her trademark by now.

Maybe, I didn't really like her AG attire that much XD. I'd like to see something water themed not a swim suit XD. Maybe like a shirt and short shorts with sea shells or something all over them. Maybe grow her hair out a little, to like Dawn's length or something

Don't worry we understand you, and it's not your fault. We just can't avoid those kind of things that comes in our life.

Indeed. She seems to be well known back then in the original series making her appearance like that. Her OS appearance made such a huge impact that even flashbacks were shown..

I could see some little possibility of her having new outfit if ever she returned again in the show.
I can picture it out with a bluish outfit,with a little red and yellow lining too.

can I join? Misty's my favourite anime girl, and one of the reasons I started watching the anime in general. she's also one of my favourite gym leaders of all time. I just love her personality! plus, she trains quite a few pokes I love. <3

Yes i definitely know what you mean about Misty personality, its one of best things about her having strong pool of emotions and unique facets to her personality which made her genuinely fun and relatable character.

I liked how she was spirited having lot of spunk, sense for humor coming up with various jokes and taunts, while showing herself to be sensible and caring girl which had fears and doze of shyness when being in creepy places, talking about love or her abilities when complimented by others having flaws just like real persons in life do making her realistic and deep in characterization.

Because of that, sense of initiative to move things forward and curious nature often trying out various things wanting to be part of something(whether is beauty contests, entering races, playing role of detective, saving villages etc) she didn't need full fledged out quest and lot of screen time to remain active being possible to feel her presence in majority of original series.

She played important role paving out way for future generations to come serving as catalyst through which Ash developed as trainer. Her role in pokemon was to provide humor and contribute to good character dynamic by acting like someone who would balance out Ash impulsiveness and naivety and Brock's obsession over girls with her spunky, and timid personality. While having her own plots and issues with family, desire to catch many new water types and become world renowned and strong water pokemon master one day,.

Which made group feel complete , giving to anime identity(her own signature) and great deal of comedy, playful charm she used to brought into cast making things more lively. Something we lost when she was replaced.

I believe main reason why many were disappointed with Misty exit was because they didn't really build her up for anything, leaving in half of development without providing conclusion for any plots which surrounded her.
She had unique story and goal of becoming water master with fresh material waiting to be explored, unique pokemon and established popularity existing potential and prospect to flourish but instead they canned her without much closure leaving much more to be desired. Which was poor and bad move imo.

As far as her goal goes judging by what we saw in original series is similar to Ash requiring traveling,meeting strong trainers,exploring new regions and learn about pokemon in wild along with advancing it through tournaments.
I mean for same reason Whirl Cup was introduced as one of such competitions where you can gain more experience,make step forward and prove yourself to others being directly connected/stated with water master quest.. As evidenced through dialogue from prof. Elm they met when registering and sea priestess Maya title of water master means becoming water pokemon expert which has power to understand sea creatures and use them to full potential,being recognized and respected among all water trainers worldwide.

And just when writers finally started to dive deeper in whole thing by expanding more on whole concept , soon enough they removed Misty from main cast stopping opportunity to explore more on her quest and do follow up through other challenges and tasks she would need to pass shading light on whole thing. See her grow forward as trainer finally forming stable, successful team and being developed to certain degree as more competent, confident character which fulfilled criteria required to go on next level.

Shame because Hoenn which was ruched with water or Sinnoh which introduced cool new pokemon and water specialists offered so many ways to develop Misty forward and add more substance to her story.

Becoming water master likely requires to achieve E4 level of skill since they are strongest one type specialists in world being "best mono trainers in world" drawing parallel with Misty desire of becoming strongest water trainer in world. Connection which revealed to exist even more when they met Lorelei back in Orange Islands wit Misty admiring her battling style ad skill in usage of water pokemon being to her idol.

Assuming Misty still wants to become water master and achieve more than being gym leader i imagine at some point she will leave gym to go on venture to learn things you cant at gym, enter tasks like Whirl Cup showed and become true expert in that field by battling other, more challenging trainers and learn more about water pokemon in wild.

Something which Wallace as you mentioned did leaving his position to advance as trainer and improve skills resulting in not only becoming Hoenn champion,and master in contests but also one of top trainers which use water type in world.

But, I loved the new ending for Da! Seeing Misty in BW's animation was truly amazing and I cannot wait to see her again. Maybe we'll see her when Ash returns home before he heads out on his next adventure like she did when he returned from Hoenn.

I have still some small hopes, but knowing writers its best to keep our expectancy in check not being first time that they disappointed us.

Its sad really, they opted to give us so much "fanservice" ever since BW2 began but didn't include one of most popular ad iconic characters in this show for who people have waited for years to see her back as evidenced through various petitions, campaigns and visible demand on internet.

Either writers are ignorant or don't know to recognize chance from which they could increase revenues and bring more fans toward this show.

I can only imagine how much hype and interest there would be sparked among people if they finally brought Misty back in person, or even went as far bringing her for season or two which would lift up dynamic in cast with her strong characterization and bring dash of fresh air by offering something unpredictable and unseen in sense of following aspiring water trainer advancing and going on bigger, more demanding challenges building on her quest of mastering water type.

I believe reasoning behind her return would be more original and unpredictable than its case with other companions(like coordinators for example from who we know what to expect), since Misty story and dreams offer several directions through which writers could create sequel and take her forward not having set up paradigm and procedure needs to be followed.
Something which has yet to be revealed with anime exclusive carers.

Going on quest to become E4 member or renowned water specialist could definitely provide foundation to make plausible continuation of Misty story with purpose of coming closer toward her dreams while also creating way to fit her within main show again.
Too bad writers can't recognize good opportunity when it arises rather choosing to constantly add new companions which end up canned unfinished anyway, instead of investing more in previous ones who have potential to offer more and go through more meaningful evolution than newbies could.

I can see her wearing her original outfit, for nostalgia reasons... but if she did change outfits, I can picture her wearing her HGSS outfit. I really do love her bathing suit in HGSS.~ it's so pretty! ^^ maybe if she's being modest, she could wear a beach towel or something over it, but otherwise, just that one piece and flip flops.
maybe she's change her hairstyle, though. possibly make it longer? I think she'd look good with long hair. (wasn't there scenes with her hair long, or am I remembering something wrong?)
personality wise, I think she'd be the same tomboy we all love. there would be no reason to change her.

@~Auaria: Yea Misty looks gorgeous with longer hair really extracting her real beauty on surface. Your right she was definitely showed with long hair quite a few times in anime. It was n Princess festival when wearing kimono where she won princess doll set, in 2Misty Mermaid" when she played underwater ballet and in "Cerulean Blues" from chronicles when dressed as mermaid she tried to calm Gyarados.

About HGSS outfit Misty indeed looks amazing in that, though im not sure how practical it would be for wearing swimsuit when being on road traveling. Although i suppose she could wear it under clothes.

In case of coming back her personality would be probably same like it was in Hoenn and chronicles being fiery, snarky, confident and more responsible in more mature way. Judging by her appearances i also noticed she was more playful and tough taking charge when resolving things. Such as defeating colonel Hanson on her own or guiding Max when they got lost in first being like surrogate sister.
