Yeah, I got into a car accident (18 wheeler into my toyota) and i've been torn out of my job (bum shoulder now) so... I went kid and caught up till misty left and... I suddenly lost the drive to continue the series... Hopefully for the sake of seeing it through i'll get a drive again.

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear about you being in a car accident...I hope you're making a steady recovery...How long will you be off of work? When do you think you'll be able to drive again?

Yeah, the theme behind that is his hat that he talked so much about, he just tossed out when he got that new getup from his mother. And from a girl's perspective, he kind of threw her out by not being the mature boy (as if that's possible with us) and telling her what needed to be said. That's why I have it. Cause I miss her! But they ended her role suddenly for a reason... so we have to live with it I guess. =(

The job is completely lost, I was a bus mechanic lifting heavy stuff up into large diesel engines, tires, alot of above the head work. I can no longer do that with this bum shoulder so i'm going back to school. Thanks for the concern, truly.

Wow,i have to say thats very impressive.Whole original series in 5 days?

That's why I have it. Cause I miss her! But they ended her role suddenly for a reason... so we have to live with it I guess. =(

I think biggest disappointment with Misty leaving was that there was still left a lot more room to develop character forward,replacing her with no real build up with story never receiving closure .Like goal of becoming water pokemon master which was unexplored for most part,her backstory,several of her pokemon were unexplored(like Psyduck,Horsea,Starmie) etc leaving lot of untapped potential there which could be used to do more with her character.
Unlike its case with Dawn or May we dont know even motives behind Mistys desire to become water pokemon master and what influenced her to have preference for one type.We didnt see Misty overcoming her personal issues which stand on her way of becoming water pokemon master never coming to significant realization how to achieve her dreams either.

Such a shame that they got rid of character who has great personality leaving lot of potential unlocked.Judging by people disappointment and complaints about departure which are still being present to this day just reflects how it was rather mistake to get rid of her so early.

Misty from story standpoint definitely had potential and reasons for which she could rejoin main cast again if writers ever decide to bring her back,but sadly they dont seem to have any intention of doing such thing.

I heard about that rumor regarding Misty voice actress,but according to ex pokemon head writer Takeshi Shudo who did construction for original series and his blogs reason why Misty was replaced is because ratings started to drop in Johto with writers deciding to add some change in show by replacing one of characters.Originally decision came to either Team Rocket or Misty being removed with female lead in end getting axed because of mr.Shudo preferring more that Jesse,James and Meowth stay instead.He also stated how he never card much for Misty or main cast in general apologizing for leaving Misty story underdeveloped and unfinished.

Another reason why girls are getting replaced according to interview with ex pokemon director mr.Hidaka (which happened over 2 years ago)is because writers want to add new female fanservice ("eye candy"according to his words)to audience to try out new designs.Rather shallow reasons with writers being sexists to certain extent.

Going by this i doubt Misty VA played main role in character getting replaced.She might have been part of reason,but certainly not the only one.When Giovanni VA did,writers replaced him with new voice.

I can see that. I read it in an interview with her sometime in 2005, so I went with what she said not knowing any better.

Whichever it may be. She's been the most interesting and enjoyable female on the show. And I truly don't have a problem jumping on another bandwagon is they deserved it. In this case, they don't. =P

I'll second to this. Misty should definitely have a comeback even at least for another special episodes. It would be nice if Dawn and Misty meet specially if Iris and Cilan meet her.

No. None of that special episode Garbage. Bring those loser sister's back the the frickin' gym and get her butt traveling again.

I would have liked to see Pokemon grow up with the ages similar to how Harry Potter did. Not into a serious anime obviously, but a little more fanservice (not whamo service) little more relationship building, and Misty and Ash continuing their journey with one another. It's always been about the "person beside you who matters" Well Ash's strength came from his friends and his special ignorant relationship with Misty, it's time to bring that back and move on to the bright future and final arch of this anime. "etc".

Wait, so you're telling me that they axed Misty because her japanese VA wanted to pursue some other kind of career?? So, is that why the writers made plans to remove her character before AG came around???
