I don't really have a team at the moment. It's hard to find a really good team and I can barely win battles against other people in the first place.
I don't know how to make a super effective team and I could use some help. I've been playing these games for a long time now and things have changed so dramatically it's like I don't know how to use all my effective strategies from the original R/B/Y games anymore.

Well I've figured out my team. I'm already using them though. The team has been pretty great so far.Im gonna give them better moves though. I'm only using pokemon I haven't used before (not counting sandile and oshawott)

1.Samurott! LOVE THAT STARTER! EPIC! Anyway I always use starters though
    2. Krookodile! Needed a ground type and a dark, fight, ghost or psychic. Krookodile does both jobs! I might wanna upgrade one of his moves though once he learns earthqauke it can replace bulldoze. Plus I need another type of move i have 2 dark type moves,1 ground and 1 normal (retaaliate) Also I need something to beat up electric type pokemon
    3. Unfesant: I wanted a flying type pokemon and he does that job, makes me use fly easily and I get pidove early in the game. Simple.
    4. Vannilux: Why does everyone hate this icecream pokemon? I need an ice type pokemon and something to crush the flying type pokemon and dragaon type pokemon. Cubchoo and Beartic dont do the job to me that well and Cryognal I think isnt as good as the ice cream pokemon
    5. Leavenny: Bug-grass. Double weakness from fire and flying but at least this thing has a good movepool and can learn tms. I need a gras type and there isnt much good grass type pokemon in the game and I usually dont use bug type pokemon but I guess bug type pokemon are good taking out dark and psychic pokemon.
    6. Darmanitan! A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I want to change his moves though so I need brick break instead of hammer arm or something. I need a fire type pokemon so he did the job greatly to me!
Thats my team, I wont say the levels since they always level up these days....

I have this kind of circulation team in my Black. I have trained a few Pokémon and change them in my team. These Pokémon I use regularly, I train others just to fill my Pokédex pages. I don't have my Black with me right now but I can tell you as much as I remember ^^' All of the Pokémon are at Lv 72-73 or so. The first four were in my team while playing adventure trough and others I trained later on.

    Emboar, male, nicknamed Wagner
Moves: Heat Crush, Flare Blitz. Hammer Arm, Rock Head

    Lilligant, female, nicknamed Aria
Moves: Quiver Dance, Petal Dance, Giga Drain, Sunny Day

    Krookodile, male, nicknamed Reuben
    Moves: Dig, Outrage, Crunch, Earthquake

    Jellicent, male, nicknamed Kingsley
Moves: Surf, Shadow Ball, Recover, Water Sport

    Chandelure, male, nicknamed Chandler
Moves: Inferno, Overheat, Shadow Ball, Pain Split

    Venusaur, female, nicknamed Venus
Moves: Petal Dance, Power Whip, Sludge Bomb, Synthesis

    Hydreigon, female, nicknamed Artemis
Moves: Hyper Voice, Crunch, Dragon Pulse, Earthquake

    Starmie, genderless, nicknamed Twinkle
    Moves: Scald, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Recover

    Reuniclus, female, nicknamed Celia
Moves: Psychic, Recover, Focus Blast, Wonder Room

I don't do competitive battling so my team probably isn't the best one there is but I'm kinda happy with my choices and I will train more members to my extended team.

Here is the team. Yeah I only have 1 Unova Pokemon but I've already used alot of them on other play throughs and ones I am doing right now so I wanted to use other pokemon that I haven't used before. Even my starter is different. I don't even have items on them yet.
Rocky the Steelix: Defensive tank. Great typing. Cool design. Haven't used one before, good moveset and attack plus I wanted to use this pokemon and like it. It has proven it self worthy of being on my team
    Level 52
Iron tail: Dunno but needed a steel type move. This was all I could find.
Earthquake/Bulldoze. Dunno. Earthquake does better damage but bulldoze makes the foe slower. And steelix is slow! Also takes out fire types AND electric types.
Smack Down. Great againt flying types and I think smack down is a cool move attacking pokemon flying in the SKY!!!!
Thunder fang. Swanna and Gyrados BEWARE! I need an electric type move and I figured I'd put it on rocky because this is an OKAY move. So yeah...
Feraligater: Bred from an egg in soul silver. I love totodiles and it's worthy enough to be my partner in a region away from Johto. It has great moveset, not only a good psyichal attacker it's okay in special attacks to. So 2 special and 2 psyical attacks.
Surf: Great move. Also a HM so it is handy in 2 ways and a water type move
Ice fang: This or ice beam. But I chose this because I want 2 psyical and 2 special type attacks. It is an ice move so I can take out dragons. Just what I need!
Earthquake: Nice move and to get away from electric types.
Crunch: Better than bite and is a dark type psyical move which what I lacked.
Eggy the Togekiss: I like this pokemon, fast and it has proven it self worthy on this journey.
Fly. Great flying type attack and not just that, a HM!
Shadow Ball: I need a ghost type move. Shadow ball is the choice!
Extransensory: A psychic move. Handy to. I like the move so I used it.
Metronome: Just wondering what attack/move it will be is so cool! Once I got thunderbolt, heatwave(against Burgh ) and even FUSION FLARE!!!! And sacred fire. usually fire moves. Even swords dance when I needed it most. Great job!
Magcargo: Great ability to hatch eggs. Cool pokemon. I like it's typing and design and it has great defense. The other stats aren't to good but I use pokemon that not many people use/like and that I think deserve a chance on my teams. It is great too!
Rock slide: Rock type move. What I lacked. I also like the move sometimes making a flinch too!
Overheat: Great attack problem is it lowers some stats even more!
Lava Plume/Flamethrower: Either move is fine. I'll go with flamethrower I think. But both cool moves.
Strength/recover: Heal my HP. Great without items or a HM
Leafy the serperior: Starter and only Unova starter I haven't used
Cut. Eh. It's only for now. I'll get aqua tail.
Coil: What can I say? Great move.
Giga drain: Do damage and heal. Nice
Leaf blade: Great move and does alot of damage
Machamp: Great attacker and is a great member on my team.
Dig: Ground type move. Machamp needed another type move to.
Dynamic Punch: I like the move problem is it's low PP
Cross Chop: What can I say? Low pp but does alot of damage, is cool move to.
Vital throw: 3 fighting type moves. NOOO! I'll replace this attack soon.
That's basicly why I used those pokemon and attacks.

I've just started Pokémon Black/White within the last few days, and so far I'm building up my team of 3. I hope to add an electric type to my team very soon, as it's my second-favourite type, as well as a Dragon/Flying/Combination type too. I'd also love to add a Steel when I come across a decent one.

    Right now, I'm training up:
Servine (my starter Grass): Level 24
    Leech Seed/Vine Whip/Leaf Tornado/Mega Drain
My starter grass is always my strongest and favourite Pokémon. Servine's moves are getting a lot better, and I like that I have the option of using all Grass-type moves. He can beat types with them that he's even weak against.

    Purrloin (Dark): Level 19
    Pursuit/Torment/Fury Swipes/Assist
Although her moves aren't quite up there yet, when she evolves into Liepard then the Dark physical moves will start rolling in. Though she's not necessarily the strongest Pokémon out there, I have a soft spot for Dark types and cat-like Pokémon. She's actually turning into quite the good addition.

    Panpour (Water): Level 18
    Water Sport/Water Gun/Fury Swipes/Scratch
I used this guy onthe first gym and the levels are catching up. It's useful for me to have a Water-type Pokémon on my team, but I'll likely replace him with a stronger Water Pokémon later on in the game. But for now, it definitely works.

    Currently using for White:

    Haxorus- Naughty nature. Ability: Rivalry

    ~Aerial Ace
    ~Brick Break
    ~Dragon Dance
    ~Dragon Claw

    Item- Dragon Fang

Basically, the powerhouse of the team. 90% of every level-up, it gains +5 Attack points. It's at level 71 with 288 Attack. Now that is one strong Pokemon.

    Hydreigon- Rash nature. Ability: Levitate

    ~Flamethrower
    ~Hyper Voice
    ~Dragon Pulse
    ~Surf

    Item- Leftovers

Honestly, you can't go wrong with this Pokemon. At level 70 with 221 Sp. Atk., this monster sweeps up the whole battlefield. It was worth the 2-3 days of Nimbasa City League training.

Chandelure- Mild nature. Ability: Flame Body

    ~Fire Blast
    ~Will-O-Wisp
    ~Flamethrower
    ~Shadow Ball

    Item- None (yet)

This Pokemon sweeped up most of the Elite 4, except for the Dark user. Other than that, at level 70 with 253 Sp. Atk., this Pokemon could not have been better.

Volcarona- Mild nature. Ability: Flame Body

    ~Flamethrower
    ~Quiver Dance
    ~Protect
    ~Heat Wave

    Item- Flame Plate

At level 65 with 225 Sp. Atk., thanks to that wonderful NPC who gave the egg, this Pokemon has been a true delight. The movepool isn't quite finished yet, but this is still decent. This Pokemon covers up for not having any single-type Grass/Bug Pokemon. It goes great with my Hydreigon and Haxorus.

    Samurott- Gentle nature. Ability: Torrent

    ~Surf
    ~Aqua Tail
    ~Megahorn
    ~Razor Shell

    Item- Mystic Water

This Pokemon has not left my party since the beginning of the game. The stats are all well-rounded (though he excels mostly with Attack at 191 being a level 65). This Pokemon is good in defensive and offensive combat styles. This is arguably the best starter (or should I say the last-evolved-starter) in the game.

    Archeops- Brave nature. Ability: Defeatist

    ~Fly
    ~Crunch
    ~Dragon Claw
    ~Rock Slide

    Item- Sharp Beark

Although the terrible defense, Archeops's Attack sure does make up for it. At level 57 with 209 Attack, this Pokemon excels to destroy lots of Pokemon. This Pokemon works great with Haxorus and Hydreigon because of the types they are.

This is my current team. I may still be looking to improve it later on.

This team was assembled mainly to have balance, consisting of some of my favorite Pokemon native to the Unova region. Serperior was the main attraction, the Star on the team. Jellicent, Galvantula, and Krookodile were vital powerhouses, while Unfezant and Beartic were powerful battlers. This team was with me throughout my entire playthrough in the game, experiencing everything in the Unova region. :)

Once upon a time, there was an Ace Trainer called Nate (White 2), famous because of his Dragon Slayer team

    Samurott
    Surf/Megahorn/Ice Beam/Return
The starter, known because he never won a single battle against Gym Leaders (lost against Cheren's Lillipup, Roxie's Whirlipede, Burgh's Leavanny and Clay's Sandslash), though in all of the Gym matches he managed to beat at least one Pokémon (against Cheren's Patrat, Roxie's Koffing, Burgh's Dwebble and Clay's Excadrill). Started slaying Dragons as soon as Nate obtained TM 13 in Giant Chasm.

    Lucario (Inner Focus)
    Aura Sphere/Dragon Pulse/Psychic/Dark Pulse
Nate's second Pokémon, famous for being a very skilled user of the Force, with Aura Sphere being Luke's signature move, with Dark Pulse and Psychic being the other Force-based moves. Luke became a Dragon Slayer when he learned Dragon Pulse.

    Arcanine (Intimidate)
    Flamethrower/Dragon Pulse/Wild Charge/Extremespeed
Nate's third Pokémon and his MVP, was a decisive member of Nate's team in every single Gym Match he took, except Cheren (was caught after Nate obtaining the first Gym Badge), Clay and Marlon (due to his type disadvantages over Ground and Water) and curbstomped two thirds of the PWT. Arcanine became a Dragon Slayer when Nate taught Dragon Pulse via Move Tutoring.

    Flygon
    Earthquake/Dragon Claw/Fire Punch/Rock Slide
Nate's fourth Pokémon, Nate's favourite Pokémon and the team's main Dragon Slayer.
Wherever was a Dragon-type or a Legendary Pokémon or both (like White Kyurem or Benga's Latias), Flygon was always Nate's first and best choice for Dragon Slaying.

    Cinccino (Skill Link)
    Tail Slap/Aqua Tail/Bullet Seed/Rock Blast
Nate's fifth Pokémon and the Pokémon who went against the flow just because of his sheer cuteness and amazing Ability. Cinccino's main asset was beating opponents with the full power of his multi-hitting moves such as Tail Slap and Bullet Seed.

    Galvantula (Compoundeyes)
    Thunder/Bug Buzz/Giga Drain/Slash
    Nate's sixth and final Pokémon.
Galvantula's biggest feat was defeating Clay's two Pokémon (Krokorok and Sandslash) even if Joltik had a type disadvantage (Volt Switch and Electroweb were useless against Ground-type Pokémon). Other feats include defeating Ghetsis and the Champion's Hydreigons with one move (Signal Beam for Ghetsis and Bug Buzz for the Unova Champion), though Galvantula is not officialy a Dragon Slayer.
