    Reno's busy writing the last one so here's the next one



    This week we'll be doing Whiscash, a classic Pokémon from Ruby & Sapphire

    Default Wishcash Overview/Sets

    Overview

    Whiscash at a glance seems like the most forgettable of the Water/Ground type pokemon. A poor offensive spread, low speed (Though not as low as Gastrodon or Quagasire), and weakish defenses seem to leave it in a bad position in terms of stats. But it does have quite a few blessings. 110 Base HP is a very nice number for a bulky pokemon, making very durable Substitutes. Even better, it packs Dragon Dance, which it can stock up on behind the cover of Substitutes. Dragon Dance already sets it apart from the Quagasire, Swampert and Gastrodon. And another one up over them is Hydration, a fantastic ability for any bulky pokemon. Rain-Rest is an option as a result. However, Dragon Dance and Rain-Rest sets require some time to set up, which can leave Whiscash open in the meantime to a 1hko at the hands of any Grass attack. If you can get it started, Whiscash is a nice threat in general. But stopping it early on really isn't that hard.

    Abilities

    Oblivious: A cute charm immunity is kind of... useless?
    Anticipation: Tells you when your opponent is packing a move with huge base damage, or anything Grass type. It's nice against surprise sets, but Hydration is really good.
    Hydration: Removes status conditions while in the rain. Immunity to status conditions is fantastic. Rest-Rain is usable, Toxic won't ruin your walling efforts, etc.

    Dancing Fish
    Ability: Hydration / Anticipation
    Nature & EVs: Adamant / Jolly, 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Speed
    Hold Item: Leftovers

    - Waterfall
    - Earthquake
    - Substitute
    - Dragon Dance

    404 HP makes for Substitutes that Chansey and Dusclops can't smash with their Level Damage attacks. Behind these Bulky Substitutes, Whiscash can set up Dragon Dances to boost its Attack and Speed. When you are ready to attack, Waterfall and Earthquake are your best choices, thanks to reliable accuracy, high power, and STAB.

    Royal PP Flush
    Ability: Hydration
    Nature & EVs: Modest / Timid, 172 HP / 252 Speed / 84 SpAtk
    Hold Item: Leftovers / Damp Rock

    - Surf / Rain Dance
    - Toxic
    - Substitute
    - Rest

    Hydration is the key to this set, allowing Whiscash to use Rest without putting itself to sleep. Couple that with 101 HP Substitutes and you can stall the life out of your opponent. Speaking of stalling the life out of your opponent, Toxic should be in one of your move slots so you can do just that. The last slot is a toss up. Surf is the safest bet because only pokemon with Water Absorb or Storm Drain carry an immunity to it, whilst Earthquake or Earth Power would be walled by anything airborne. Or you can go 100% support and provide your own Rain Dance. This makes you Taunt fodder however, so I wouldn't recommend it.

    Fish of Choice
    Ability: Hydration / Anticipation
    Nature & EVs: Adamant / Modest / Jolly / Timid, 252 Atk or SpAtk / 252 Speed / 4 HP
    Hold Item: Choice Band / Specs

    - Waterfall / Surf
    - Earthquake / Earth Power
    - Stone Edge / Ice Beam
    - Spark / HP [ Grass / Elec ]

    I really don't advise this variation, ever, but it can be done. Waterfall, Surf, Earthquake and Earth Power serve as your main STAB options. Stone Edge and Ice Beam clear out Flying types. Spark and Hidden Power [Grass or Elec] serve to take out other Water types.

    Flailing Dancer
    Ability: Hydration / Anticipation
    Nature & EVs: Adamant / Jolly, 252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 HP
    Hold Item: Focus Sash

    - Flail
    - Waterfall
    - Earthquake
    - Dragon Dance

    This is a simple and abusive tactic, but it works. Get to critical HP while prepping up Dragon Dances and then nuke your opponent with Flail. Waterfall and Earthquake provide backup STAB damage.

    Other Options

    - Zen Headbutt: The coverage is too low to make this move mandate a slot, but if you're really afraid of Poison and Fighting types...
    - Thrash / Return: Two Normal type attacks with high base damage, but no super effective coverage.
    - Tickle: A way to encourage switch outs, but it doesn't really fit on any sets.
    - Aqua Tail / Hydro Pump: Water moves with more power but less accuracy than their counterparts.
    - Whirlpool: Caging. The damage is negligible, but the caging effect can be nice in some situations.

    Double / Triples Partners

    Something that can evade a friendly Earthquake should you run a set that uses it is nice. You'll want Fire coverage to take out Grass types and Steel types that can take Earthquake like Skarmory.

    Countering Whiscash

    Grass attacks kill Whiscash. As a result, the list is massive for that regard, so I won't bother listing names. Tanking Earthquake is also nice, so Skarmory, Bronzong, Gyarados, Jumpluff, Mantine, Altaria, and Tropius are pretty good options. Carrying the non-steels carry Water resistances as well, so they can scare Whiscash very easily. Canceling Rain when it's in effect can ruin Whiscash's Rest-Rain as well, so Ninetails, Abomasnow and Tyranitar get mentions. Hippowdon and Tyranitar aren't as reliable though, because of Waterfall.

    Whiscash has good Hp, so it might good defensively.

    This set better with rain team, Rest for recovery, Hydration will heal it in rain, use Chesto if it not rain team, Amnesia boost Special Defense, Substitute so it can use Amnesia safely, the rest if you taunted.

    A Catfish Dancing?
    Whiscash (Adamant/Jolly) @Life Orb/Muscle Band
    Hydration (still BETTER than other)
    EVs: 4HP/252Atk/252Spd
    - Dragon Dance
    - Waterfall/Aqua Tail
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge/Rock Slide

    Dragon Dance is one of best boosting moves, Waterfall is better accuracy, but Aqua Tail stronger, Earthquake get STAB, Stone Edge for QuakeEdge combo, but Rock Slide for accuracy issue.

    Patners:
    Politoed with Drizzle is Whiscash best friend, sure. Pokemon with Sap Sipper maybe great for Whiscash.

    Wow, Anticipation on this guy is actually useful.
    If they bring a Heatran on you, you'd know if they carry Hidden Power Grass so you can switch into an appropriate counter. Otherwise stick with Hydration.
    Almost all Pokemon that have Dragon Dance will use Dragon Dance, and Whiscash is no different.
    Classic QuakeEdge Combo with STAB Waterfall. Hits almost everything. Since Whiscash should only be used in lower tiers, you wouldn't have to worry about Ferrothorn and Scizor and such.
    Life Orb is for power, Leftovers is for survivability.

    Of course if you're not using DD, use a Choice band with all attacks.

    Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)

    Scald is a Water's type new Surf. If you're a defensive water type, you should be using Scald. Toxic will stall out an opponent, and Rest with Hydration is a free recovery. A monstrous HP base and one weakness and Hydration makes Whiscash better than it's fellow Water/Grounds like Swampert / Quagsire / Gastrodon.
    Protect stalls for Leftovers / Toxic damage. Future Sight is pretty cool to hit an opponent later on in a match while Toxic wears it down. Earth Power is another source of STAB.

    Rain Support (Specially bulky)
    - Scald
    - Toxic
    - Rest
    - Protect / Future Sight / Earth Power
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Hydration
    Evs and Nature:
    252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Def
    Calm nature (+SpD, -Atk)

    Choice Specs Whiscash.
    A reliable STAB combo with a pseudo-BoltBeam (Or grass.) Surf is STAB, and so is Earth Power. Ice Beam hits Flying / Grass. HP Electric hits other Waters and Grass hits the Water/Grounds that are to immune to Water (Storm Drain Gastro, Water Absorb Quag)
    And HP Grass will also hit Waters.
    The EV spread depends on what you want, a bulky hitter or a.. semi-fast? hitter.

    Toxic Trapper
    - Whirlpool
    - Toxic
    - Rest
    - Protect / Earth Power
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Hydration
    Evs and Nature
    252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Def
    Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)

    Whirlpool is a psuedo Mean Look. Keeps you in while your Toxic damage builds up until they die. Rest is meant to be used with Rain Support, keeping you healthy. Protect stalls out even more, and Earth Power hits Steels / Grounds that resist Toxic.

    Whiscash also gets Sleep Talk from Dream World Barboach so you can run a RestTalk set in lower tiers since Politoed / Kyogre isn't allowed in there.

    Aw, I'm too late, even though I was around here from 5:00. Oh well... anyway, Whiscash is one of those Pokemon who give me bad memories from my older days of Pokemon. Regardless, here's my best shot: Whiscash, once an underrated opponent in UU, can at least leap up to BL with the addition of Hydration, giving it a free moveslot over Sleep Talk.

    Abilities:

    Oblivious
    Protection against infatuation, which is not seen at all.
    Anticipation
    Warns you of super-effective moves, OHKO-moves, Explosion, and SelfDestruct. Grass moves are sometimes seen on guys like Zapdos, and it's nice to know for sure. OHKO-moves are banned from standard play, and Explosion / SelfDestruct were nerfed from the generation shift. Overall, a pretty situational ability.
    Hydration
    Restores your status in rain. Now this is a ability in a 'weather-infested' metagame. With Drizzle Politoed, this ability is your best friend.

    Movesets:


    Sleeping Dancer On Call (Dragon Dance Tank)

    -Rest
    -Dragon Dance
    -Stone Edge
    -Waterfall / Earthquake
    Item Attached: Leftovers
    Ability: Hydration
    EVs and Nature: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 42 Def / 42 SDef
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

    Eh... maybe not so much of a tank after all. Anyway, Rest and Dragon Dance goes without saying, as they are your set-up aids. Stone Edge can pair up with either chosen STAB move: Waterfall and Earthquake. Water-Rock is popular with Kabutops, and hits lots of Pokemon for some neutral damage. EdgeQuake is one of the most popular choices for Ground-types, hitting almost all of the game for neutral damage (I think...)

    Do I REALLY need to explain about Leftovers? Come on.

    252 Atk EVs thrown in without a question. The rest thrown into defenses, and can be played around with.

    This is Whiscash's best set in OU, with Politoed.

    Other Options:

    Special attacks... may work... ok, moving on.
    Choice items could be used, but question: why would you want to? It's offense is terrible without several boosts, so one boost from Choice Band won't cut it. Same for Choice Specs. Or Choice Scarf.
    Aqua Tail can replace Waterfall for the extra power over accuracy. Given that Whiscash needs all of the offense it can get, it's a good choice.

    Double and Triple Battles:

    STAB Earthquake? Great! Rock Slide? Cool! General fragility? Eh... not so cool or great. This thing hits like a toothpick, and takes hits a little like one. Ok, rage over... moving on.

    Checks and Counters:

    Eh... every Bulky Grass type... takes a hit even from Ice Beam... retaliate with a Grass-type move... yeah, the list is really long. Maybe not too long, but a little long.

    Conclusion:

    If you play, play it in BL or UU. That's all I ask of you.

    Whiscash has great HP and defensive typing, so a bulky Dragon Dancer allows it to function as a tank of sorts thanks to Rest + Hydration

    nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
    evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def

    With the extra bulk, Whiscash can afford to take physical hits while setting up Dragon Dances. Once it's low on health, Whiscash can go for a Rest, and with the Rain support, Hydration allows you to go about sweeping with your two STAB moves. The evs given max the defensive powers of Whiscash, while the 4 extra evs are put into attack for a little push. An alternate spread of 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD with either an Impish or Careful nature allows Whiscash to take hits on both sides of the spectrum, or it can go fully specially defensive with a Careful 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD spread.

    Countering Whiscash
    -If you can get a Drought-tales with Solarbeam or a Trapper with a Grass Move in safely, you can wreck a 'cash without a Sub up.
    -Barring that, you'll need strong and/or boosted multi-hits like Technician Bullet Seed or STAB Double Hit to crack a Sub like a walnut.

    This is a very very derpish fish... kinda like the Stunfisk of the 3rd gen...

    Physical-cash
    Item: Choice Band

    Ok, the trick here is just smoosh them, he really doesn't have the speed to pull this set off, but he has a very physically orientated move-pool.
    Aqua tail for power, Waterfall for flinch and accuracy
    Earthquake smooches
    Spark gets waters and flyers, zen headbutt gets fight poison types, stone edge gets flying types, fire types and Ice types, and it has more power etc, but lower accuracy.
    Thrash has a high power, especially with the choice band boost, and flail is good if you have little faith in your derp fish.
    with this set you could replace a move with dragon dance, and then use life orb or something similar as an Item.
    EV's: 252 Atk, 252 spd, 4 whichever defence.

    Special-Cash
    Item: Choice Specs
    Nature: Modest
    Ability: Hydration/Anticipation
    Moves:
    Surf/Scald/Hydro Pump

    Surf has power and accuracy, scald has a nice burn chance Hydro pump is powerfull, but in-accurate, up to you.
    Earthpower is the special answer to earthquake, and has a nice little chance of lowering the foe's special defence.
    Ice beam deals with the only type this guy has a problem with, the grass type, and it has a nice range of coverage.
    Future sight, because there was nothing left to fill this space, and i know it's not good on this set, but the only other special moves left of note were Hyper beam, hidden power and round, and because i know nothing about hidden power mechanics i chose that.
    EV's 252 Sp Atk, 252 Spd, 4 whichever defence.

    Mix-cash
    Item: Choice Scarf
    Nature: Hasty
    Ability: Hydration/anticipation
    Moves:
    Surf/Aqua Tail/ Waterfall/Scald
    Earthquake/Earth Power
    Ice Beam
    Zen Headbutt/Spark/Stone Edge/Thrash/Flail

    Basically this set is to catch your opponent off guard, so they think you have either a choice band/specs set, then you switch in and BOOM.
    Just see above for what you want to choose.
    EV's: 252 Spd, 128 Atk, 128 SpAtk

    Slippery Fish
    Item: Leftovers
    Nature: Sassy/Relaxed
    Ability: Hydration
    Moves:
    Rest
    Substitute
    Toxic/Scald/Swagger
    Surf/Waterfall/Earthquake/Ice Beam

    The idea for this set is to survive for as long as possible.
    Rest works FANTASTICALLY well with hydration, substitute works well with his High Hp.
    Toxic poisons-standard. Scald is nice because of the burn, or you could choose swagger if you're feeling particularly Haxey
    Last move is to stop you being taunt bait.

    The idea here is to boost your attack and speed then SWEEP, or you could reduce the opponent's stats and let another team mate come in and smoosh, or you could boost your special defence and lower their attack.
    Then you recover any lost health
    and the last move is to stop you being taunt bait.

    Nature: Adamant
    Ability: Anticipation
    Moves:

    Flail
    Protect
    Filler
    The concept is simple endure, then flail.
    Custap gives you priority in a pinch, so you cen definately launch a 100% power flail.
    protect is for after the custap, and you sense a move a-coming
    The filler can be anything... i mean after the custap is gone you're pretty much doomed, many MANY things are faster than whiscash... you could try substitute but meh...
    EV's 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 Hp.

    It seems to me, you lived your life like a Litwick in a Whirlwind, never knowing who to Klink to when the Drizzle set in, and i Sudowoodo like to know you, when I was just an Elekid , but the Litwick burned out long before the legend ever did...

    Ability Hydration/Anticipation
    Ev's: 4Hp/252Attack/252Speed

    Rest/Substitute

    It's a set used to easily set-up on an opponent that can can deal less than 50% of Whiscash's Hp. Due to Hydration, he can set up on Blissey as Hydration takes off poison and can heal damage with rest, Rest should be used with Drizzle, but you can use a Chestro Berry instead. Water/Ground get good coverage and with Whiscash's natural high hp stat, it can use Dragon Dance pretty well. You can also use Substitute if you don't have rain to protect you from statuses.

    Dragon Dance really helps with the Physical Whiscash. It doesn't have great Speed, so that's also convenient.

    Waterfall and Aqua Tail both get Water STAB, and are pretty powerful. Waterfall is weaker but with better accuracy, and it may cause a flinch. Aqua Tail is more powerful, but at the cost of accuracy.

    Earthquake is the ever-amazing Ground STAB.

    Zen Headbutt is a physical Psychic attack that can cause flinching. Pretty useful, but it doesn't have perfect accuracy. Stone Edge is amazing. It's accuracy is not.



    Other Dancer

    - Rain Dance
    - Surf / Hydro Pump
    - Earth Power / Ice Beam / Blizzard
    - Toxic
    Item Attached: Leftovers
    Ability: Hydration
    EVs and Nature:
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA. / 128 Def. / 128 SpD.
    Modest Nature (+SpA. , -Att.)

    Rain Dance ups Water moves' power, and makes Hydration work.

    Hydro Pump and Surf get Water STAB. The former more accuracy but less power, and vice-versa for the latter. Much like the above set.

    Earth Power is Ground STAB if you use Surf. If you chose Hydro Pump, you can't use it, so that's what Ice Beam and Blizzard are for. Same deal as the Water STABs in both sets.

    Toxic is filler. It saps opponent HP. I couldn't think of another move here.



    Other Options

    Future Sight: is if you trust your opponent not to switch out. It would be amazing if Whiscash got Arena Trap or something.

    Bounce: A good Physical Flying move... The only one Whiscash gets.

    Muddy Water: It's Surf with less accuracy, and it can lower Accuracy. I'd still choose Surf.

    Hyper Beam / Giga Impact: Speaks for itself. I don't like the rest turn though. (For future reference, can someone tell me if Truant has the recharge turn on the turn you can't attack?)

    I'll think of a more original set later.

    Eh... it seems to me that Whiscash is a good Dragon Dancer in UU / BL / OU, but only in Politoed's eternal rain, where it takes advantage of Hydration.

    A mixed Dragon Dancer could work, with Dragon Dance | Surf / Hydro Pump / Aqua Tail / Waterfall | Spark | Ice Beam / Blizzard. Hydro Pump and Blizzard are options, as Whiscash's completely sub-par Special Attack calls for high-powered attacks. Besides, Whiscash has a pseudo Bolt-Beam combination... that sucks a little, but still a Bolt-Beam combination.

    Whiscash, shame on you for not having Ice Fang. Otherwise, you would at least get a physical Ice move. GOD!

    Stunfisk of Gen 3 with slightly less derp.

    Counters:
    Any Bulky GRass type that can take a hit from Ice Beam(which is rare on Whishcsh anyway) can take this thing down. Technician Breloom is amzing against it. It can take any hit it can dish out, outspeed it, break it's Sub and KO it with STAB Bullet Seed. Cincinno isn't as good but it gets Skill Link and Bullet Seed. Shell Break Cloyster can come in on water attacks, setup and make a dent with Skill Link Icicle Spear.
    Weather change can stop HydrationRest. Ninetales, Hippowdon, Tyranitar etc. Once Whiscash is out of the rain it becomes a very mediorce pokemon.

    It should be worth noting that Whiscash is actually a great deal lighter than other water/grounds and therefore might be able to take an unboosted Grass Knot.

    Whiscash. What a funny sounding Pokemon. But it has useful qualities. It's only weakness is a 4x weakness to grass. Plus it can take a few hits. So here's my set.

    Whiskers of death! @ Float Stone
    Anticipation
    Naive Nature
    EVs: 252 Sp. Attack 4 Attack 252 Speed

    Tickle
    Surf
    Earthquake
    Toxic

    Tickle to lower your opponents attack and defense, which will prove well.
    Surf and Earthquake for STAB.
    Toxic so you can whittle away damage while you whittle away stats with Tickle.
    Float Stone to lower your weight, which will prove useful with Grass Knotters.

    Countering Whiscash

    Bulky Grass Types. Or you can hit them with your strongest attacks.

    Partner Up

    Bulky Fire Types like Emboar to counter grass, it's only weakness.

    Whiscash was never anything truly spectacular. Water/Ground isn't as exclusive a type combination as it once was, and many other Pokémon of that type had more to offer than Whiscash. Well, now Whiscash gets Dragon Dance! A much-needed and much-appreciated improvement, to be sure. This allows Whiscash's somewhat usable Attack and decidedly lacking Speed to both be boosted to sweeper levels. With that in mind, Whiscash has moves that take advantage of both STAB types. Earthquake is obvious. Aqua Tail vs. Waterfall, however, mainly depends on how you battle. If you're a risk-taker, and you think the increase in power justifies the imperfect accuracy, Aqua Tail is the way to go. If you prefer an attack that is more likely to hit, however, Waterfall is for you. As for that last move, there's several options. Substitute takes advantage of Whiscash's lovely HP stat and allows it more time to Dragon Dance. Stone Edge, when combined with Earthquake, is resisted by very few Pokemon. And Rest is mainly if you're running Hydration, and if you're running this on a rain team. Leftovers is to allow Whiscash to recover some of the HP it loses while Dragon Dancing and/or Substitute damage.

    As for the ability, you will never, and I mean never, see me recommend Oblivious on anything, unless Generation VI introduces something where its only abilites are Oblivious and Slow Start. Hydration is clearly the best ability for Whiscash. Anticipation earns a mention because Whiscash kinda likes the advance notice if your opponent's packing a surprise Grass Knot, HP Grass, Giga Drain, or whatever. I'd love to be able to recommend Spark for Whiscash. A nice, surprise Electric move would catch a lot of stuff off guard. Unfortunately, it's illegal with Dragon Dance.

    This Whiscash is made for Trick Room teams. Waterfall/Aqua Tail and Earthquake are for STAB, Stone Edge provides near perfect coverage with Earthquake, and you can either go with Spark for that added surprise against, say, other Water-types, or whatever, or Double-Edge, which in addition to packing raw power, provides decent coverage with the Water move of your choice. The only drawback to Double-Edge is that it diminishes Whiscash's bulkiness. But, the best part is, Barboach can learn it through the Generation III Move Tutor as well as Whiscash. Meaning you can Pal Park the Barboach, THEN evolve it, so there's a 50% chance that you don't get saddled with Oblivious.

    The ability doesn't actually matter too much here. Hydration is actually very situational here, as who runs rain AND Trick Room on the same team? Then again, if you're using Whiscash at all, you've already proven that unusual strategies aren't a problem for you. Be warned, however, that Hydration is illegal with Double-Edge. Anticipation is the one to go with here. Whiscash hates being surprised with them Grass moves. As for the item, most people would go with the Choice Band, as Whiscash's Attack, when not being DD'd, needs all the help it can get. I, however, like to add Life Orb as an option, giving Whiscash the freedom to switch between moves. Sure, CB Whiscash packs more power. But if your opponent predicts a Spark attack and switches in an Arena Trap Dugtrio, it doesn't matter how much power that Whiscash packs, it's screwed. Leftovers is also an option, to capitalize on Whiscash's bulk. Those who prefer to KO things in one hit, however, may find this an unwelcome option.

    An attempt at a special attacking version of the above set. The problem here is that Whiscash's special movepool is significantly less impressive. First, the Water move. Surf has decent power and perfect accuracy. Hydro Pump is for those risk-takers who think the power increase justifies the shaky accuracy. And Scald is an attempt to further improve Whiscash's bulkiness. Earth Power is a good STAB move. Ice Beam is obvious. Now, the last moveslot goes to HP Electric for a variant of the BoltBeam combo (significantly less deadly these days as more and more Pokemon emerge that resist it, like several Rotom forms). This, however, I feel obligated to mention, leaves this Whiscash incapable of harming a Shedinja. For this reason, HP Rock is also an option for a variation on the EdgeQuake combo.


    Counters: Grass-type moves.

    A set that can make use of Anticipation? UNHEARD OF! Well, I did. Felt gimmicky, so this atrocity is whatI came up with. Anticipate if they have a Grass move or not, if they do, run, but if they don't, you can use Substitute, Whirlpool and Future Sight to trap them and cause actually serious damage. If your sub's still up, feel free to go with a sweep. A very slow sweep, btu I've done it before(With a Marowak, mind you). RainRest is always usable, or you could run QuakEdge instead of Whirlpool or Rest. Whatever works though.

Anyway, Give the foe a status condition, and protect, attack, repeat. Scald is only 20%, so it's kinda, ehh... but it might work.

    Now for one more... Dragon Dance. I have a somewhat interesting idea for this one...

    Otherwise, if you don't base your strategy in luck or anything of this, go with EQ.

    Woah! Look at that HP stat! 110 isn't too shabby! Now let's take a look at those other... ohh.... um... yeah....

    The best set probably is Hydration+Rest+Dragon Dance with rain support, but that's already been said a lot... but honestly, that's about it...

    Here's kind of a gimmicky set that could be really good. Plus, I have a pretty good name for it

    Not entirely sure on item right now. Maybe Quick Claw? :P

    Retyped by memory from the CSR thread. Amnesia to boost yourself forever. Rest to heal off damage, which is cured by Hydration. Scald is a Water STAB with a chance to burn, which covers the other defensive stat Amnesia doesn't. Earthquake for a consistent physical STAB or Magnitude for the PP. It seems like an odd toss up, but Magnitude has three times the PP of Earthquake and this fish sure can stall.


    I forgot about Whirlpool on a defensive Water like this. I have yet to figure out how to make a set utilizing it, but for future notice, Pressure Band is the superior item over Grip Claw.

    This set MUST be used in sandstorm (to rack up residual damage). Ev's for 101 Hp subs and max speed as well as slightly good special attack for whirlpool. This set is basically this guys heatran set except imported onto whiscash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=574Mig49Chw.
    (Copy/Paste everything he says). It's only 5.5 minutes, so please take the time to watch it, as it really explains this set. However, there is one difference. You can run dragon dance over toxic on this whiscash to increase speed, as speed is the most important part of this set, as you must be able to outspeed your opponents. You could also baton pass into this guy. Overall, I really like this set and hope you will all try it.
