What really led me to think this is a glitch is that Clefable (I think) used thunderbolt on Dragonite and it was not very effective, and then Thundurus used Sky Drop which did nothing. There must be something wrong with the programming on certain battles where it doesn't register Dragonite as a flying type to the AI or for the purpose of damage Dragonite was treated as plain Dragon. The same Thundurus also used an electric attack, but it was neutral which leaves me to believe only certain things trigger this weird glitch.
You sure you didn't use roost before the Clefable used Thunderbolt? Do you have a battle video showing it?

EDIT: There's no Clefable in the Subway unless you meant the Wi-fi subway.

Does HO really work in the Subway? I'm thinking Azelf/Cloyster/Haxorus.

Wait, so roost removes the flying type?! I thought it just made the user land, not remove the type.

*EDIT* Moved it to singles RMT thread

Anyway, I'm having some trouble in the BS. I'm wondering if this is normal or I should change my team around. First loss was due to Choice Band Archeops which I have no remedied. Second loss was due to Gigalith which had sturdy and explosion. Killed Dragonite, then exploded Starmie. I beat him with Extreme Speed but Hippowdon EQed Lucario. Third loss was due to a lucky freeze hack, so thats nothing. My recent loss was due to Trick Room, how do I deal with that? Just kill the pokemon that might have it quickly?
yup it removes the entire flying type away for that turn

Any advice for my problems in BS though?

Also, as for the EQ users on Dragonite, whats the explanation there? Golem has to have a different attack yet he keeps using EQ, same with alot of other pokemon.

^Is it the SR + Automomize set? I don't know if any sets carry Stone Edge.

Ah, yes, that was it. Too bad, with Stone Edge it could have done fairly well. Instead it got EQed by Dragonite, heh.

I've had Haxorus use EQ on my Dragonite multiple times.

Idk if its intentional as if they're waiting for a Roost, the AI is just stupid, or theres a glitch in the AI programming.

    Doubles Record: 111

        Spoiler:- Proof:

        Spoiler:- Team:

    Comment on Team:
2 faster opponents is pretty much the only thing that stops this team. Trick Room Slowbro is problematic too but Scizor/Latios can handle him and stall out the Trick Room. Tangrowth can survive a +4 (helping hand boosted?) Rock Slide but after a charm or two its Power Whip shouldn't be too frightening. Claydol also hard counters that set but Claydol is no threat.

        Spoiler:- Lost:

    Comment on losing match:
If I went for the usual Beat Up/Rock Slide combo on the first turn, I would have won but I didn't want to risk being outsped by Latios. I think I made the most logical play there. Sending in Scizor was where I made the stupid play. If I sent in Latios I could have KO'd the opposing Latios with Dragon Pulse and left Heatran at low HP with Terrakion's Sacred Sword. Then Zapdos would come in and I could Rock Slide/Dragon Pulse for the double KO and take care of the opponent's last Pokemon.

*sigh* Idk what happened to my brain there. I'll probably retry this team eventually to see if I can squeeze out a better streak. I'm almost certain that with a little luck I could have gone another 100+ battles.

I've been getting back into the Subway with my old team. I just completed the first 7, wish me luck! (And I forgot to put Thunder over T-bolt on Latios. Forgetful me.) Should I swap out Latios for a Specs Jolteon? Any suggestions?

    Politoed @Choice Scarf
    Timid
    Drizzle
4 HP/252 Sp. Atk/252 Speed (252 Speed actually happens to outspeed base 130s by one point)
    Surf
    Ice Beam
    Focus Blast
    Hyper Voice

    Ferrothorn @Chesto Berry
    Sassy
    252 HP/4 Def/252 Sp. Def
    Curse
    Rest
    Power Whip
    Gyro Ball

    Latios @Dragon Gem
    Timid
    4 HP/252 Sp. Atk/252 Speed
    Draco Meteor
    Thunder
    Surf
    Psyshock

    OR

    Jolteon @Choice Specs
    Timid
Volt Absorb (immunity to T-Wave is pretty nice on a speedy pokemon like Jolteon, and I can switch in on Electric attacks aimed at Toed for free healing)
    4 HP/252 Sp. Atk/252 Speed
    Thunder
    Shadow Ball
    Volt Switch
    ??? (No HP)

However, this leaves me even weaker to Superpower TTar. My only defense against it is changing the weather with Toed and killing it with Surf.

The Subway AI is way luckier than the Tower AI. I've gotten a 91 streak on my SS with Latias/Suicune/Scizor.

So I've been researching and number crunching and I've found all the major threats to Dragonite which have been written down. Now I can deal with all of them except for two of them with which I need luck... As Lucario resists both Ice and Rock (.25) AND has CC, hes my normal switch in. Only problem is the damage negates Focus Sash.

*EDIT* What I figured out is that the only possible way Lucario can survive switching into Stone Edge and taking an EQ is with the 50% Berry. This will allow him to follow up with Extreme Speed on a Sturdy/Focus Sashed opponent. Curious if that could work.. But then it leaves me vulnerable to Fire and Fighting if somehow Dragonite and Starmie are taken out.

    Lucario- Adamant- @Focus Sash
    Steadfast- 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Hp
    -Swords Dance
    -Close Combat
    -Crunch
    -Extreme Speed

Choice Band Archeops will always lead with Head Smash due to my Dragonite being in, so I switch to Lucario. Even though its double resisted, it will hit for 48%-64% damage to him, which basically means I have no way to kill this dang thing... If that wasn't bad enough, Lucario's Close Combat (252 EV/ 31 IV/ Adamant) is 94%-104% of his hp.. I considered Metagross with Bullet Punch, but that still only does 90% damage. Basically if he leads I'm screwed, or I need to get super lucky...

Custap Berry Sturdy Gigalith is the second biggest threat due to his stupid berry. If I switch in Lucario, and hit him with Close Combat, he outspeeds ALL of my pokemon. I could follow up with Close Combat but Focus Sash won't work due to the Stone Edge damage from the switch. My only real choice is to use EQ and then when Dragonite Faints switch in Lucario and CC. Or maybe switch if Dragonite survives the Stone Edge. Usually, though, if his health is low, hes gonna explode. Bullet Punch solves this problem, as it would take out his remaining HP if Dragonite did enough damage.

Also, for my Rain team, should I take into account other pokemon with Swift Swim? I've come across Kingdra with it, and it mopped the floor with me on my Single Train playthrough... Even with a Timid nature and 252 Speed EVs Seismotoad barely outspeeds Kingdra in the rain (By like 4 Speed points O_o).

Use Ferro in Rain. I use one, it's a beast. Here's the set I use:

    Ferrothorn @Chesto Berry
    Sassy
    252 HP/4 Def/252 Sp. Def
    Curse
    Rest
    Power Whip
    Gyro Ball

    Really effective.

Also, is LO or Specs better on a Rain Jolteon?

Specs. Jolteon's usually a one trick pony with thunderbolt, even more so now you're using thunder. If someone's resisting your electric attacks you should be switching pokemon. You will OHKO most things you hit neutral, and nearly every thing you get a SE hit on. that's my experience with specs thunderbolt, so thunder in rain will do even better.

God, I finish EV training the Jolteon, and it comes out to 199 Speed (he maxes at 200, and it has a perfect Speed IV).. really??

But, Volt Switch is really handy for killing weakened opponents, and not having Jolteon face the next poke.

EDIT: Got to 35, farthest I've gotten in some time. Wish me luck!

there's something wrong there, and it's nothing to do with issues in the game's programming. either it doesn't actually have the perfect iv or it's missing evs somehow. i'm afraid you'll just have to start over if you want one with 200 spe. which tbh i'd recommend to at least tie with everything else in your speed tier.

I'm training a bold volcarona to use in battle subway. It's useable in OU where stealth rock and sandstorm decimate it, which pretty much makes it god without those things. enter Battle subway. I'll probably drop blissey and keep garchomp/scizor. though i might use a decent water absorb pokemon like vaporeon on the switch well see. Garchomp resists rock moves which is nice. Though i wonder if quiver dance and 2 swords dance pokemon is too much. having a boosting move for every pokemon.
