I've also noticed another sneaky skill combo that Risen Berserkers have: Gamble, Zeal, and Hit Rate +10. Not to mention a Killer Axe with 20 Mt and 90 Hit, instead of the usual 12 Mt and 70 Hit. If they wanted to stop me from training my group with skirmishes, all they had to do was get rid of them, not make them impossible.

    Sounds nasty.

I just class changed my Donnel to Mercenary. Thinking of going to Warrior after that to grab Counter and then switching him to Hero.

I also got him HP +5 and Zeal to allow him to take more hits for counter, and that extra critical rate. It does wonders I tell ya.

I'm in the process of making my own personal list of characters and their final skills loadout as well as their class. My Morgans and Fem MC have the exact same loadout, and there are a TON of Galeforce and Astra skills.

I find myself jealous of female Avatars. Having a Male Avatar cursed me to be Galeforce-less for eternity. Plus, even though Male Morgan can't directly reclass to get it, he can still inherit it.

...Though I guess pretty much any daughter can get Galeforce by being a child of the Male Avatar, as well. *Shrugs*

Yeah, I find the skills to be in clear favor to Female Avatar. Is Galeforce really much better than the Male-only skills? I sure think so, but it doesn't stop me from using a Male Avatar for Lunatic Mode. That, and Morgan(M) doesn't seem as cool as to me as Morgan(F), though that's a trivial reason to prefer Morgan(F). In all seriousness, I do find Morgan(F) having the eventual prospect of getting

Yes, when it comes to eventual skills from Spotpass characters, both genders have their benefits. Still though. Galeforce is one of those skills that's more or less irreplaceable; nothing else can do what it does. So the females seem like the lucky ones overall. Maybe for my next run, I'll give a female Avatar a try.

Though I do find myself more endeared by the female characters, so pairing up with them appeals to me more. Oh well-

Yeah, it is, but it doesn't seem to provide as interesting a benefit, though both skills are definitely great in their own right.

Yeah, in the larger scope of things, Galeforce is irreplaceable, though that doesn't stop either gender Avatar from being absolutely fantastic at everything. Females have that advantage that only some of the male children can get, but at least it doesn't stop others from being great in their own right as well. After all, the children characters are already wonderfully strong regardless.

I've been messing around with possible skill loadouts for characters, and I've come to the conclusion that the Female MC is better off as an offensive Magic user, while the Male MC is more defensive, using Rally Spectrum and having Pavise and Aegis, though can do some damage on his own with Astra and Ignis.

As for the Morgans, they're offensive mages too with the same skill loadout as Female MC, Galeforce, Astra, Ignis, Tomefaire, and Mag +2, though I'm trying to find a skill to replace Mag +2.

So, yeah, just finished, and X&Y have a high bar set before them if they want to earn best 3DS game of the year.
I have claimed Joltik. Deal with it.

You're getting streetpasses at a farmer's market. That's proof enough.

If you wait until later, you could just replace Mag +2 with Limit Breaker, but until then(that's may be a long time anyway), your choice is as good as mine. I can't think of anything that would work better than Mag +2 on an offensive set like that. Sol isn't bad, but I doubt it would help that much.

Well, we won't be able to compare the two for a while anyway, so we'll just have to see how things develop from here on for X & Y.

That, and I'm still trying to see if to skills can overlap, like activating Astra at first, then doing Sol during one of the five hits. Cause if it can, then that'll lead to great destructive ability.

The only thing I've seen is a crit after a skill has activated. I feel like if it was possible to have to skills activated I'd have seen it by now.

The offical site is showing the rest of the DLC for the first series of it.

Also, Roy vs Ike (previously known as Red vs Blue) is now known as Smash Brethren.

    Brethren = Bros.

Smash Bros.? Don't care if that was intentional or not; that is awesome.

Yeah, I think I saw somewhere on Serenes that you can't activate skills within Astra. And if it wasn't true, I'd likely have seen something by now.

Yeah, that came to my mind as well. If I had to guess, I'd say it was intentional, but I obviously can't tell. Either way, it is kinda cool. The various tracks played during the trailer make me want the DLC a bit more. I did always think that a mistake would be made with Celica's name as "Cecilia." Probably doesn't help that Cecilia has appeared as a name in the series as well.

Just out of curiosity, how would Armsthrift work with Astra?

I'd imagine being able to not break your weapon like instantly would be pretty useful.

I think all 5 shots of Astra only use one weapons use to begin with, though, so I don't think it would be a factor. At least, I think that's how Astra works. Either way, Armshift is always amazing, especially if you get close to 50 Luck. Owain with Donnel as his father would be ridiculous once Owain caps luck at 51, only ever needing to carry a single weapon, unless the game prevents you from having 100% skill activation with Armshift.

Astra only counts as a single use.

So I'm moving along quite nicely. I've married off Stahl and Sully purely because I felt they'd go good together. Lissa and Donnel are married as well, so I'm making sure they've got the right Skills. I've got Lissa up to a Dark Flier, gonna put her back to Sage once she gets Galeforce. Donnel is becoming is usual destroyer of worlds as a level 3 Mercenary. Just about to head into Chapter 9, poor Emm.

Gah, you guys are making me want to start my Hard Mode run. But before I do that I made a point to try and get all of the A rank supports. I just hunger for these interactions! One of the things I love about Awakening; before you were severely limited on how many supports you could do, but now? GET ALL THE SUPPORTS!
