I dunno about you guys, but I'm starting to think the Fire Emblem game as an Ambassador game was partially a marketing ploy to get people to get the 3DS one coming out next year.

For example, for me I was iffy about preordering/getting the 3DS one, partially because I've never played the series, and partially because it never stood out to me. But if the game is localised, I'd preorder it in a second, after playing Sacred Stones.

Sacred Stones is a nice way to start being a fan of the series since I've heard most of the other games don't really let you do some level grinding like this one does.

Oh, and the wolves' sprites look suspiciously close to Zoroark.

But those wolves were around before zoroark : p

I hope so, I's love to play the 3DS FE. The last game not getting released makes me kinda nervous.

    Not to anybody else.

What do you think of a FE7 sequel that takes place 5 yrs. later?

Well, I screwed up and got Seth killed in the ninth chapter. The boss pulled out a critical hit on him, even if I'm playing on Easy.

Strangely enough, though, Seth is still taking part of cutscenes.

IIRC, in Seths death quote he says he's retreating.

You know what I hate in the Emblem games?

When a unit is supposed to be really, REALLY good but through the RNG in the games they turn out bad when I play through 'em.

Personal Experience Means Nothing I know, I know but still. <__<

Eirika is stubborn enough to get killed without retreating. She clearly needs to learn Seth's tactic. :P

Yeah, I hate getting RNG screwed.

Yup, would ruin the difficulty though. :>

Any non-Lord unit that is crucial to the plot that is defeated instead becomes to injured to fight, but stays with the group, ya know, wasting resources.

Seth, being the Silver General of Renias, probally just sits back and helps the Tactician.

In Shadow Dragon you need to let your units die if you want to play the side quests (you need to heve less than x units to trigger them).
At a point you can get a staff that revives one of your lost units.

I once killed Legault in Fire emblem (7) without recruting, a few chapters later he appeared and talked to Eliwood as if nothing happened.

I'm pretty sure the point of SDs gaidens was for sucky players who lost their units.

Yeah, the legault thing is a funny oversight.

Seth was killed? In Sacred Stones? In easy mode?

    HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAHHAAH.

Is this your first time playing Fire Emblem? If so, then that is perfectly understandable, but you're not challenging yourself very much playing on easy mode. Btw, you just let the best character in the game die.

The requirements for those chapters are incredibly stupid, but I still do them for the extra experience, nice items/weapons, and good characters.

Hey, mind you, that boss has some insane defense and very strong attack. It doesn't help a Critical Hit was very easy for him to pull out. Moreover, I can easily replace him with another currently-overpowered character.

Also, Seth is not the best character. Ephraim IS the killer one.

Tell you what, Hard mode is kinda hard, considering that Sacred Stones is considered the 'easiest' of the 3.

doesn't help every other LvUp is a +1 stat only.

I'm playing Fire Embem The Sacred Stones from the 3DS ambassador's program, and I just reached the part with the fog. I just realized that my only thief is still at level one, and I want to go back and level him up somehow. I there a way to go back and fight weaker enemies again, or do I have to buy a torch?

That's Chapter 6, right? I don't remember getting the ability to level grind until a little bit later in the game. Or buyable Torches, for that matter.

However, it's not that hard even without a Thief. If it is Chapter 6, try to just send all of your units to the right, except for one who visits the village. If you can weaken enemies enough and get Colm to finish them off, he should get quite a lot of EXP.

If you saved the village to the North in ch5, you could get a free Torch.

If you are in Hard Mode (like I am)

Stay in the forested areas at the beggining, with your best unit on the Fort, and put your most defensive units on the far left trees after the 3rd turn, because enemy reinforcements will arive soon, and a few Cavaliers will come from the North.

He was talking about buying a Torch, so I assumed he didn't have one, though apparently they can be bought at Serafew.

Also, Hard Mode tends to add a lot of reinforcements to chapters that didn't have them before. I haven't played SS in quite a while, though I don't remember any reinforcements on that chapter in Normal Mode.

Seth is the most useful character throughout the whole game. He starts out the best character, and he remains great throughout the whole game. Same with Titania in Path of Radiance. The other characters need to be fed kills to reach their potential. While they can be better towards the end of the game, there's no denying that they need attention when they're recently recruited. Seth/Titania never need any of that.
