Just look at the gym leaders for wifi and choose one that is not chosen.

Maybe making your Politoed some stronger, he's really weak when he's asleep.
My Gengar eated him badly, I have a lot of oppenents that have some of their Pokemons eated by my Gengar though.
But your Politoed, maybe working on it.
