Is it just me, or was it extremely unexpected that Bianca lost? It's only a minor battle, but still...

Nah Bianca was established as the weakest Rival along with Burgundy.

Really in a way when it come to the intreactions with the charaters it was more intressing then Trip's mopping about his lost.

This episode has some good character intreactions, I found it funny when Burgundy was hoping to see Cilan lose. The battles were good too.

The thing is that aside from Georgia none of the friendly rivals are interesting in the slightest. I would prefer Trip wasting 5 minutes talking to Ash about how pointless staying would be then enduring 2 more episodes seeing Bianca fangirl over Zorua.

I was surprised by the Cilan and Trip battle as I thought the result would be the opposite of what it was; I thought Trip would win given his rival status. It irked me that Cilan actually beat Trip's Gurdurr with his Dwebble, but whatever. I loved Iris and Burgundy's reactions during the battle, although the Bianca/Zorua thing started getting old really fast. I wasn't even surprised that her Minccino lost to Stephan's Zebstrika either; that was predictable. And of course, Ash's battle with Georgia had to end with a cliffhanger.

In the show, the Timburr line are pretty unique looking. What with being able to put the item they're holding down to do some attacks.
That laugh Zorus does is just too adorable.

- More inconsistency. Ash can beat Cilan's Pansage with an untrained water-type but Trip can't beat Cilan's less-often-used Dwebble. I would have preferred if Trip won since his character could have had time for development if he stayed in the tournament.
- Bianca loses in the first round but multiple pointless COTDs advance? I suppose it's alright but since we don't even get to see the battle, they might as well have just showed Bianca and Stephan taking out two COTDs in that time instead. Or have Georgia lose in the first round instead, since her existence in the show is pointless.
- Speaking of Bianca, that gag with her and Zorua is really annoying.
- My dislike of Georgia aside, Pawniard vs. Snivy was actually pretty good. Same with Dwebble vs. Gurdurr.

Whoa color me impressed by Cilan winning against Trip. I was expecting a massacre but in Trip's favor. Good tournament twist. 8/10

I had expected Bianca to lose when she was matched up against Stephan, but whoa Cilan's Dwebble defeating Trip's Gurdurr surprised me cuz I thought Trip was much stronger. Pawniard vs Snivy rocked.

Frankly, I didn't think Dent's Ishizumai would manage to win against Shooti's Dotekkotsu, but the end result was a pleasant surprise, although I felt that Ishizumai should have evolved. Bel's Chillarmy fighting against Kenyan's Zebraika could have been longer, but I guess it might not have made a difference.

Snivy did pretty swell here. Unlike previous episodes where it shows Snivy getting slayed, the battle in this one was actually decent, and it's nice to see Ash using a bit more strategy than usual. Bianca was annoying, though. :/

Maybe not the best episode but I was pleased to see our main characters interact nicely with recurring characters. I especially loved seeing Burgundy get all angry over Cilan winning against Trip.
